The bite was good. Good one. Those kings in a foot of water aren’t “biting”.

@@nakedtruthoutdoors8642 thanks! We are going to the DSR for two days in September, I have my son with me who has never caught a salmon, if things don’t work out for him there, I would like to get him to where you were. Looks like a great chance to land one there👍

Good job. Have you guys ever tried float fishing? 95(ish)% mouth hook ups. Landing rate goes way up. Nothing like it when that bobber drains and you got a monster on. Best thing about it is, because you are getting so many mouth hook-ups, you can control them and your landing ratio goes way up. You can have your net man stand there with the net in the water and literally steer the fish into the net. It's so much more satisfying having that kind of control. #levelup

Thanks for the comment man! We have never tried float fishing for salmon, but it’s our favorite way to fish for trout. We’ll have to try it out. Thanks again!!

@@nakedtruthoutdoors8642 It's the same thing with a little heavier gear. I drift fished for years. Started float fishing a few years back for Kings and never looked back. It's just so satisfying and it's changing the culture here in Michigan. I saw way more bobber fisherman this year than I ever have and arguably more bobber fisherman than other methods.

Also. You can run shorter leaders and use mono if you want. Kings don't seem to care as much as trout. I usually run an 18" leader under the swivel. That way if you want to float some more shallow spots, you can shorten it up.
