    As a drummer who dreamt of being in a band performing, with crippling anxiety and stage fright, I wish i knew about being a drumtech back then. Thank you for your hard work you do for these videos dude 🤘

    A nice tip I have for the 12" Rack Tom is to put some cotton ball inside the tom (just few of them).
    It's working really great!

      @@maxbatteur I’ll usually use them if I’m in a studio. 12” toms are always tricky to tune

    Great video! I love watching tour videos! I have a question, what's the difference between the tom on video and the one Sleep Token uses? Aside from sizes and heads, do they just use a lower tune? That's why it so sounds different?

    • @PhilthyDrumTech
      @PhilthyDrumTech  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tuning is all about preference. Whether it’s the heads you use, the brand, to how low or high you tune them. I’ll be putting out a tuning video in the near future, so keep checkin back

    Those toms are crispy, oh my word! Can you tell me what type of Evans heads you use across the kit?

    • @PhilthyDrumTech

      Evans G2 clears for tom batter side, Evans G1 clears for reso side, main snare and deep side snare both with Evans Heavyweights, G2 coated for 10" Snare, and usually EQ3 for kick, but couldn't get one for this tour so had to go with Remo Powerstroke 3 clear

    A suggestion for tuning the 12" tom, I've found mad consistency if you tune that drum first and then tune the rest of the toms to taste around it. J Rod Sullivan also does this!

    Wow! Those toms sound beautiful, is it mostly the shells or the heads that give it such a "thunky" sound?

    • @PhilthyDrumTech
      @PhilthyDrumTech  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@quinnpalmermusic6224 it’s a combination of shells, and how you tune the heads. The type of head and brand you use is just preference. I’ve worked on my tuning for a couple decades, so I’ve learned a few tricks over the years. I’m glad you enjoy the tones :)

      In one of Matt Horn's vids one of the venue staff was going around to each tech and trying to blag free stuff off them. He was caught trying to steal some guitar picks, then later tried get some drum heads and sticks out of Matt. He was reported and told to go home.

      @@parthdua1342 I'm not saying this guy was up to no good. But I was just reminded of that other video I saw recently and how easy it must be for some people to get access to venues and be able to just go poking around.
      In the case of the Matt Horn vid the guy was an employee of the venue. That's crazy enough. But some rando literally walking up to the drum riser and shooting his shot would creep me the hell out, too.
