It is a great car with a game changing drive train. And the best part might be that is also bullet proof, will run almost for ever.
The forth generationen of Toyotas HSD drive system is really that good!
I think this car will sell like crazy.
Had mine for four months. Did a 1250 mile trip through central France at an average of 54.5 mpg. One day trip through the hillside vineyards saw over 61mpg achieved. Longest drive 5 hours very comfortable, enjoyed challenge of driving economically and using electric power - scared one guy walking inthe car park when he looked over his should and saw the car silently following him. The one I have is Excel model and yes it does have somewhere for sunglasses. Swallowed luggage, picnic gear and cases of wine on return. Pottering around the village I get 44mpg. Acceleration onto motorway is surprising - 0 to 60 in about 7.8 seconds, faster than my previous 3 litre car. Went off road and it coped really well on rough tracks and forests. Criticism? The paint finish is not tough enough for off roader, scratches too damn easily. Hybrid means no range constraints of looking for somewhere to plug in, tank gives near 600 mile range. Satnav is brilliant and roundabouts appear on speedo as well as mapping console. Love the car, my first Toyota
@@patrickgoff6875 I agree that the Satnav works perfectly even if it's not hi resolution and that the car drives really good and is very comfortable on long dives

Hi I’m going to Road test one soon and possibly order the new Black edition. I have a Rav 4 hybrid 2017 excel model being tall my right knee hits strg wheel and cruise control lever. Did your knee hit wheel when braking? Thanks great reviews.
No, I have only problem with the hard plastic on left side my knee.

What makes this worse is the left footrest which is almost the height of the brake pedal and prevents the straightening of the left leg.
8:00 I'm a US driver. I agree because my right knee often hurts...On my 4 hour trips.
Yeah it's problem usually for taller driver

The central compartment holds a 0.75 millilitre bottle?? 7 of them and you are carrying almost a teaspoon of water
Why would you put your drink in the centre chubby box when there are two drinks holder in front of it you do not drive with the centre cubby open! Silly comment.
Cannot understand why the passenger seat gets no height adjustments on the top spec model.
Ordered mine in the obsidina Blue with the grey and white leather interior trim, awd Excel spec. Rear view mirror uses a camera so no blind spots. You can turn it traditional mirror but if you have rear passengers or a load in the boot you cannot use the conventional mirror so the tv image is superior.

@@AutoStartTest If you think that's in any way funny, then you should definitely leave out attempts at humour in future. Did it not occur to you that someone watching could have experienced a loved one dying by suicide? - or have been suicidal themselves. And even aside from that, there's just nothing humorous about suicide.
Quite honestly, I have to wonder about the mentality of someone who makes such a "joke".
So a thumbs down from me, for that, plus the unnessecary and crappy background "music", - and the fact that you didn't say anything about how it drives! - it's a vehicle - the purpose of it is driving it!.
"But how does the Rav4 actually drive" pity you didn't answer your own question apart from comments on the MPG and noise level. You spent more time covering the rubber handles which you just touch for about 2 seconds getting in or out. You spend hours driving so the ride and handling is a tad more important!
Hi thanks for comment, unfortunately I don't have that much time to drive the ca for few hours. Ok I had this car for few hours but I have to make all video shoot etc. Sometimes is not enough time and also is very easy to forgot about some parts in post production, nobody is perfect.
To answer your /my question the car drive perfectly, high driver position giving you much more and very good visibility around the car. The car is quite big but you don't have any problems on the parking lot etc.
Also very good acceleration ,then again I don't have a time to do acceleration test, maybe in the future I will be able to get the car's for few days and show you everything in few videos.

It’s fuel poor on E 10 before was much better.
I'm also driving hybrid and I don't see any different
E10 fuel in the winter has definitely reduced the mpg
Very misleading review when it comes to mpg
Some people watching might be convinced by your review that 80-90 mpg is achievable in regular driving mode
MPG is calculated over a longer drive ( at least 100 km ) or ever time
80-90 MPG can only be achieved over a very very short distance. 1-2 perhaps 3km,
Even when driving very slow the battery will run out of juice in a matter of minutes.
No you're wrong, my mpg was from distance of 12 and 25 miles , I will be back with another video "how to use on properly way HSD from Toyota. To get the best results you need experience and knowledge how to do it.

Hundreds , possibly thousands of members from around the world.
So far only a handful of owners broke the magical 600 miles on the tank range.
The vast majority are getting anywhere from 35 to 40 mpg. Very very few were able to reach 50 mpg
And you claim 80-90 mpg
Give me a break
Simply google search will prove you wrong.
Further...,,by your logic 2019 RAV4 hybrid is capable to make at least 1200 miles on a tank of gas. (That’s like 1900 km !!! )
When Toyota releases RAV4 plug in, 1200 miles might very well be within reach.
Yes, and better economy than the smaller engine, lighter, better aerodynamic 1.8 Corolla?? Better check your stats...

My idea is get rid of that UGLY middle tunnel, remember it's my idea TOYOTA. Get rid of it . And don't forget that potato resolution ❗ entertainment display. And yes I'm asking for a lot for the insane price. Toyota can you just put Camry interior in RAV4.
I think the reason is that it is the same body as the classic awd they have in the non hybrid. So stop making non hybrids could be the solution. :)
