I know I loved this game so much. I have memories of my friends and I playing. Without download play, I was always the one bringing the game and then we’d all play.

i remember me and my siblings we were playing on dk's stone statue and my brother who was in last place got the little bonus thing at the last 5 rounds from bowser. bowser made all the stars 5 coins and my brother who had the most coins got like 12 stars. ill never forgive him for that

It does suck how many people forgot about it when this game has some of the best minigames, music, and board design for a handheld title.(IMO) Granted it does have some flaws like the graphics and some of the boss fights are cakewalks, (hammer bro and dry bones), but it is still a pretty awesome game that I'm glad you covered. Thank you for giving this game some of the attention it deserves.

DS is one of the Mario Partys I put in high regards. I have a long history with this one and I recently got my hands on it again and man the nostalgia just asserted itself and beat me up. I also showed my relatives how to play it and...uh...lets just say it made for an interesting Boxing Day...

I LOVE this game! It's Top 3 for me with Mario Party, and it's better than the most recent one (Super is certainly a solid return to form, but there are few boards and they're very small and the minigames are mixed and a bit uncreative and easy). Study Fall was my favorite minigame as a kid, I actually played it so much that I got the record down to 0.00m. And as someone who doesn't have that many friends, the story mode, easily the best in the series, was wonderful. And yeah I remember the bowser boss fight being super hard as a kid too and beat it with no sweat in a recent playthrough. Would love to see this game get some updated love on the Switch, though I know that's a pipe dream (ha, get it?). Thank you for talking about this, it really deserves so much more love.
First: yeah Super is a step in the right direction, but I think the boards are honestly really boring. They haven't quite "got it" in regards to how to design Mario Party boards, but here's hoping they make it better in the next one. Second: Wow 0.00 is kind of insane to reach. I completely remember this game, I loved the Mini-Games, the story, and the boards! This has to be one of my favorite if not my favorite Mario Party game, the Mini-games were definetly the best in the series ( In my opinion ), too bad I didnt really have friends who had a DS so I never really got to experience Multiplayer... Yeah ever collected a lot of money only to lose it to a cheap round like chips and dips. My eldest brother would either get uber salty or rage quit. My favorite stage being d'ks stone statue when I always went to the bottom instead of the top because of the dreaded rope we called "the step of death" because it would bring you closer to the green barrel spaces.

Mario Party DS has always been one of my favorite games!!! The story mode was a blessing when I was in the hospital and I have so many pleasant memories of the minigames. Everything from the minigames to the music still makes me so happy! I wish they would made another mario party like it.

I remember hating the library because I could never get the RNG to cooperate. The boss was easy though. However anyone who played this game knows that one impossible boss...
I remember when and my other 3 siblings, whenever when all 4 of us had nothing better to do, we play some video games together, and we'll despite all my sibling being a couple years older than me, we still had a lot fun, and even though we all don't do multilayer anymore (learned that one the real way), we still, especially me, look back at those multilayer memories fondly, especially Mario Party, specifically DS, 8, 9(suprisinglly), and Island Tour(also suprisinglly). Heh, those were the good old days. Also I actually 4 other siblings, but the other one isn't really much into video games. We still care about each other at the end of the day.
I personally really enjoyed Island Tour. At least it's Party Mode had at least SOME resemblance to the previous Mario Parties! *Glares at Toad Scramble from Star Rush and Balloon Bash from Top 100* Plus that Bowser's Road remix in Bowser's Peculiar Peak is AWESOME! I do think DS is the best of the Portable Mario Parties though.
Island Tour wasn't bad per se, and many of the ideas they've done throughout the series are actually good, including the cart in MP9 and MP10. The problem is that they REPLACE the regular mode, and replacing something that's been proven to work for more than a decade and everyone loves with sonething that feels just like a limited version of the same thing is not how you make a game successful. Imagine MP9 with both regular boards and cart bords, or Island Tour with regular boards, cart boards and Clue-style boards. No one would've complained if they did that

First: yeah Super is a step in the right direction, but I think the boards are honestly really boring. They haven't quite "got it" in regards to how to design Mario Party boards, but here's hoping they make it better in the next one.

I completely remember this game, I loved the Mini-Games, the story, and the boards! This has to be one of my favorite if not my favorite Mario Party game, the Mini-games were definetly the best in the series ( In my opinion ), too bad I didnt really have friends who had a DS so I never really got to experience Multiplayer... This game kept me going back to play on my DS, too bad I broke it... Well, atleast I have great memories from playing this game! Thank you for making this video! And thanks to YT for actually giving me a video in my recommendations that wasnt weird or out of the ordinary 😆

Mario Party DS has always been one of my favorite games!!! The story mode was a blessing when I was in the hospital and I have so many pleasant memories of the minigames. Everything from the minigames to the music still makes me so happy! I wish they would made another mario party like it.

bruh I think the same happened to me. I was playing my DS when my mom drove off the road and almost tipped the car. nobody got hurt but there was a bunch of like dirt or dust or something in the car after.

First Mario Party game I’ve ever played and it took me years to beat. Either I was a dumb kid or I just didn’t know how to properly play.

I remember when and my other 3 siblings, whenever when all 4 of us had nothing better to do, we play some video games together, and we'll despite all my sibling being a couple years older than me, we still had a lot fun, and even though we all don't do multilayer anymore (learned that one the real way), we still, especially me, look back at those multilayer memories fondly, especially Mario Party, specifically DS, 8, 9(suprisinglly), and Island Tour(also suprisinglly). Heh, those were the good old days.
Also I actually 4 other siblings, but the other one isn't really much into video games. We still care about each other at the end of the day.

Man, this is the ONLY GOOD portable Mario Party game. Of course I didn’t forget it and I will NEVER forget it
I personally really enjoyed Island Tour. At least it's Party Mode had at least SOME resemblance to the previous Mario Parties! *Glares at Toad Scramble from Star Rush and Balloon Bash from Top 100* Plus that Bowser's Road remix in Bowser's Peculiar Peak is AWESOME! I do think DS is the best of the Portable Mario Parties though.
Island Tour wasn't bad per se, and many of the ideas they've done throughout the series are actually good, including the cart in MP9 and MP10. The problem is that they REPLACE the regular mode, and replacing something that's been proven to work for more than a decade and everyone loves with sonething that feels just like a limited version of the same thing is not how you make a game successful. Imagine MP9 with both regular boards and cart bords, or Island Tour with regular boards, cart boards and Clue-style boards. No one would've complained if they did that
