I loved this game when I was younger! You can indeed have kids in this game but you have to name them before you know the gender, that or I just had a bug in all three play throughs I did.
My version of "playing a shitty Sims console port bc it was the Sims and I had no PC" was TS3 on DS because it was the only version rated "E". It was surprisingly decent for the DS, I sunk hundreds of hours into it as a kid. There wasn't an open world as all the lots had to be loaded screened into but the world map was fully 3D and explorable, allowing you to jog places, interact with sims, fish, and interact with rabbithole locations. It was quite impressive for the handheld imo.

But other than that the game was fantastic :D

By the time I started new the town was always so empty, full of those pointed graves along the beach, and having children was a pain since it didn't show gender before naming and it wouldn't let me edit them much when they got older.

I remember buying this for full price just for it to be literally unplayable. I remember there was a storage bug that would say your storage was full no matter what you had in your inventory. There was also a bug where sims kept dying to the point where the town was empty with random graves everywhere. The houses sucked ass. There was no house building aspect. I remember a tree house like a house shaped like a tree but it had no room inside so you couldnt place anything. I loved the game and played it a lot. It had so much potential 😔😔😔
The game isn’t actually broken. The Wii console is supposed to be able to support dual layer discs but it doesn’t do it very well (which is the noise you hear). The game emulates very well with minimal problems, and if you Google “Wii dual layer disc issue” you will find all dual layer Wii games suffer the same issue.
yeah, I noticed people who used emulators had a lot smoother of an experience! the game did actually break pretty bad in part 3 of this series (my most recent upload). i'm not sure if "break" is the right word, but it definitely made me unable to play more lmao

@@alpheelol there’s about 10 games for Wii that use dual layer and Nintendo released an update to support them, which is why Sims 3 needs an update when you first play it to allow dual layer, but omg I don’t understand how Nintendo could official support it. One of the Metroid games was bricking people’s consoles and I guess Sims 3 did too 😂
aaaahh. the good ole days. it was my birthday (or almost) and my mom and dad asked me what do you want for your birthday. we went to this game store (we just got the wii when it just came out) and we were looking around.. till I saw this baby laying there, on a rack or something. but my mom and dad and my little brother walked out the store to go find something else. but mind you IT WAS THE LAST ONE!!! and there was this other woman looking at it. I RAN OUT THE STORE BRO 😭 i was yelling so hard from far away. my mom and dad bought the game, and the rest is history. I WAS HOOKED W THIS GAME. i miss the old days. now I got sims 4, but it's doing me dirty LMAO. it's always broken 🙄🙄

This game is like a version of gta since you can follow characters everywhere and have friends that are coworkers
love that 70% of furniture in this game is from the sims 2 cause its the easiest port that also meets the low-poly target loll
low poly count and ugly as hell 😭 the sims 2 is still a beautiful game but this one definitely falls short in my opinion haha
