Ever since watching Wye Invader I’ve been a fan. I still can’t get over them not granting you a license. I used to have a boat in Worcester and did many trips to Cardiff and Cornwall so know the Severn well but never in a narrow boat. I love your attention to detail and expert knowledge of the Wye....Congratulations on your voyage to Monmouth! Brilliant. We now live in Atlanta Georgia and miss that part of the world! Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures in 2020!

@nutcracker - Apologies for delay replying. I've spoken to Frank, he will be making the Portishead/Bristol trip at least once in 2020 (and maybe more). We've had the request before from another narrow boater and Frank gave the following advice - your fuel tank needs to have been cleaned out and the fuel filter changed before you're allowed to go on the tidal River Severn, there is full information for narrow boats using the tidal Severn here: gloucesterharbourtrustees.org.uk/new-leisure-craft/

If you don't have them, Admiralty charts are needed, a VHF radio is required along with full safety gear (belts, flares etc). I hope this info helps with your planning and when Frank knows he'll be making the trip we'll let you know. (DaveF - Web, Facebook and TH-cam Admin for www.wyeinvader.uk/
