23 03 2020 Lockdown Day

On this day a year ago, 23rd March 2020 at 18.10, Wye Invader Two returned to her berth at Sharpness Marina after escorting Innisfree (now NutCracker) with @bobbolton to Bristol. Later that evening Prime Minister Boris Johnson ‘Locked down’ the whole Country and it would be months before we could venture out again. Late March seems to have historical significance for both Wye Invader and Wye Invader Two. On the 26th March 1989 Wye Invader left Penzance for the start of her epic journey to Hereford • Wye Invader - The Impo... and then on the 21st March 2019 Wye Invader Two was the first narrow boat to reach Monmouth • First Narrowboat to re... . March 2021 however is a different story, let's hope later in 2021 we can return.
