- In June of 2013, we got one of the most unlikely superhero games. Before the movies and the Marvel craze, Deadpool was just a lesser known anti-hero to the public. Beyond the comics and being a one-off surprise villain in a movie, not many had been introduced to the merc with the mouth. Well, this game unapologetically leaned into the ridiculousness of the character! While not perfect, it still has so much charm through its humor to this day.

It’s a solid 7.5/10 game. The graphics are on point for the time. The combat is streamlined (I don’t mean that as a bad thing). The story has plenty of humor.

The combat and humor moments are good but the rest is mid or trash.
It's so stupid to not have all the Activision Marvel games on Game Pass. It's free money for Marvel, shouldn't cost much for Microsoft, and would be a huge win for Game Pass, possibly even bringing in some new subscribers because there's a lot of people really wanting to play these old Marvel games. It's a win for everyone involved.
You're thinking logically. Also Activision/Microsoft would also need to repay for the licenses which is why they're delisted 😢
@@jamiemarshall4738 You're also talking about X-Men and Spider-Man games...and it sure isn't Microsoft that has the exclusive rights to those right now. It's likely Microsoft would have to pay BOTH Marvel and Sony in order make this happen -- and Sony probably isn't too crazy about it in the first place. It's not a simple matter.
Let's be real, Nolan North & Deadpool's animation is why this game is so remembered.
It's nowhere near as good as X-Men Origins Wolverine imo, but it still has some memorable moments overall

I have a physical copy somewhere and I remember my brother and I really loved it. He's still a big deadpool fan because of it.

I too was introduced to Deadpool through Ultimate Alliance. Since then he's been my favorite Marvel character and when this game came out I definitely had to play it. Loved it so much I finished 10 times in one month which isn't something I do with games. Ever.
This seriously was the game that introduced me to Deadpool so that was fun for me too because of that
This game is such a throwback. I never played it but I remember following it's release as a teenager when I used to read and watch IGN all the time lol. Seems like it just missed a perfect window to become a classic adaptation of Deadpool as the movie came out a few years later.
Nolan North's version of Deadpool is amazing!
The writing was pretty spot on for the character but other than that it has nothing going for it for the most part, I did 100% it tho 😂

From what I remember on the PS4/XB1 versions, the "stutter" has something to do with the internet connection. I remember this being an issue on my XB1, and I would disconnect from the internet on my console, then reconnect, and the stutter would go away. I think it is because the older versions had online leader boards and whatnot that constantly needed updating, and it was left over on the "newer" release.

Companies need to learn that itll be better to bring back these old games for their streaming services that are rare or more expensive than the average new Ubisoft game or generic triple a open world.

Just played this game again a few weeks ago through emulation. Still a good game, but it definitely gets boring and repetitive in the 3rd act because you're doing the same things throughout areas that all look similar for the entire game. I'd love to see someone take another shot at a Deadpool game. Fast, combo building combat, gun play, multiple cameos, and a good story.

i’m so glad to see love for this game, it may have been low budget and very unstimulating gameplay wise but they made up for it in personality. even if it radiates ‘spike tv’ energy, it’s almost charming. deadpool always felt like an immortal mutant older broter type charecter. it was my biggest introduction to deadpool, past x men origins, and it made me delve deeper into his comics. i’m so glad this exists and im glad someone else does too
As someone who worked on this game, I'm pleased to see videos like yours pop up lately. (And thanks for not "pointing out" that it cost $100 million -- it absolutely didn't!)
I will say, though, don't get your hopes up for Microsoft owning Activision to help get the games on Game Pass. Remember, Sony has exclusive rights to Spider-Man games right now and, it seems, X-Men as well. I could maybe see a "universe" game like Ultimate Alliance making it to Game Pass if MS wants to pony up the cash. But anything with Spider-Man or X-Men (or Deadpool -- part of X-Men) in the title? No way.
It was never bad
I recently obtained a copy on PC, and loved it, it's 100% in line with the movies recently and just a ton of charm, not really "outdated" pop culture references, so I feel it aged well and should make a comeback.
Interesting thing on PC, modifying the coalesced ini file, you can smooth out the framerate, also some of it seems intentional, some lines of in the ini file seem to suggest a sort of fighting game style pause being built in, you know those freeze frames for when hits connect.
This game is a straight up gem
While the melee weapon combat was good, I didn't enjoy using guns in this game one bit

Wow I had no idea this was delisted. I rented it on PS3 close to when it released, and enjoyed it but always wanted to revisit on PS4 when I had the chance
This game was the reason high moon got demoted to a call of duty support studio and we never got a third game in the transformers cybertron sequel.
Played on easy or normal it's fine, anything above that and it's ball crushingly frustrating.
I have it on xbx 360 and xbox one. Having Nolan North voicing Deadpool in this game and also in Midnight Suns makes me happy.
Loved that game! Have to see if I can pick it up somewhere. Same as Afro Samurai I recently looking to get. Those where the times where we didn't have too much games and don't sass about everything just because it's not ahead of the curve but enjoy the games for what they are. Good times good memories. I was having the same problems with stuttering, and I turned off the WiFi on my PS5 and it stopped stuttering, it’s weird
We really need a new Deadpool game especially now we are 3 films in heavily featuring him but keep Ryan Reynolds as his voice actor.

I remember enjoying it quite a bit, the main problem I had back then was was that counters and teleporting used the same button so sometimes you'd teleport instead of countering

It was okay. I wish the game had some more variety or RPG elements. It's playable once in a while. I had it on Xbox 360 and I gave it up. I got the Ps3 edition at a pawn shop for $5 and realized it's from Region 2 (Somewhere in Europe, South Africa or Middle East...) Thankfully, the Ps3 is region free unless you're 2 games.
This is actually an amazing game and is true to the Deadpool brand, highly recommended.
Deadpool on Xbox One is on my list to pickup. I've also read about the same performance issues, one post I found said to disconnect it from the Internet as the issue is it's trying to connect to the publishers servers and cant causing the slow down. Worth a try.
I was first introduced to Deadpool with one of the episodes of original X-Men Animated Series, but his time in there was so small that I didn't even bothered to give a crap about, who tf that is. But my real introduction happened with, like yours, with Marvel Ultimate Alliance game. That is when I was introduced to Deadpool for real, but again, until the movies I didn't gave a crap about, who he was back then. I even once thought that he was a, like another version of Spider-Man. But one of my friends told me that it's different character and he got me interested a bit. So yeah, I only started to get interested in Deadpool with the movies.
As for the game, back when it came out I didn't care, but a lot later I decided to give it shot. Back in like, probably 2018 or 2019, I don't remember and.. well, it just an okay game. It's not good, it's not bad, it's just something in between. Sure, I have my problems with it, like a lack of proper story, great and dynamic fighting system and more content, but in general I enjoyed it. Not too much but I did. But that second half of the game was boring AF. It felt like devs didn't know what to do and simply put everything in to that half and called it a day. Also, all those jokes worked first time when I played it but now, they just flat and boring, and honestly makes me cringe. So yeah, I feel like Deadpool game can be better.
I loved this one so much I got the platinum on PS4
PS: play OFFLINE for a less choppy experience.

@@Deadforge yes, man. A huge difference. If you disconnect your console from the internet the frame rate goes up considerably.

Nolan North did Deadpool in Midnight Suns as well and I gotta say his version of DP might be my favorite out there.

I think Cassandra will rematerialize into her physical body but with more multiversal abilities & will be the main villian in Secret Wars/Avengers 5.
In the sense of the Xmen timeline if they're saying that the events prior to Logan are all canon then canonically the Xmen who we grew up with in the FOX movies would be dead from the mental shockwaves that the Professor had with his seizures.
Blade, Elektra, Chris Evans (Johny Storm), Pyro, X23, Henry Cavill (Wolverine), Channing Tatum, Wolverine (House of X), Wolverine (Age of Apocalypse), Wolverine (Patch), Wolverine (Short Version), Wolverine (Logan Movie), Thor, Happy Hogan, Channing Tatum(Gambit), Toad, Lady Deathstrike, Pyslocke, Blob, The Russian (Punisher), Azazel, Hulk (Avengers) are all the cameos in Deadpool and Wolverine.
I was introduced to Deadpool through the first Ultimate Alliance game, I also distinctly remembered his Ultimate costume and as a kid I didn’t know it was just a different universe and not some transformation or something

I would trade my right nut to see all the transformers/ Spiderman games tied with activision be brought to game pass. It's been a bloody nightmare trying to get ahold of these delisted games. And having them all tied to gamepass for one cheap payment would be a dream come true. Nothing to do with activision but I also want arkham origins to return the dlc was delisted a while ago and it deserves a decent next gen port at this point.

I have this game on the Xbox one and it’s worth $40+ I’ll for sure go up in value after Deadpool and Wolverine dropped so don’t sell it and if you have a PlayStation 4 version keep it I’ll go for 2x the price by 2028-2030 when Avengers Secret wars comes out 😂
It's a phenomenal Deadpool game, I love it. It's also how I learned of Domino and I enjoyed the other cameos, especially Psylocke who's my favorite X-Man.
The ps4 version you have to be disconnected from the internet for it to run smooth for some reason. I platinum both games
Many years ago bought it in my currency at the beginning of when I had my xbox one for 63Florins which in us Dollars is about $35 was on sale brand new which includes the xbox 360 copy which I noticed yesterday when looking at the what to install file on my storage device on my series x

The stutters are caused by the game trying to connect to a server that no longer exists. If you play offline the stutters go away.

TO FIX SPS ON XBO - turn off the internet/Xbox Live
The game “needs” to connect and that is what causes the FPS stuttering and drop

Get the rpcs3 and download the emulator I’m playing dead pool now
On 360 it works well but on xbox one is janky but if you play the xbox one version offline it works without no lag which I could never figure out how that works as a fix.
I really do wish I could just be more than wishful thinking for relating the backwards compatibility list. They got transformers games they got this game they got so many high moon studio games and then some to be able to play on Xbox and honestly I feel like in a lot of cases they could just rebundle them and just improve frame rates and maybe some graphics and then you're golden. Literally just make HD collections of these games for the modern era like how we used to get them on PS3 and though it wouldn't be real backwards compatibility I much rather have new iterations of the game that are the definitive version over some of the copies of the older games that don't run the best and probably wouldn't get the best treatments overall but I don't know Xbox could easily do either one but I think they're remastered idea would probably be the way they would want to go
I’ve played through this one twice. Always have fun, but by the end it has become super redundant.

The deadpool game is great funny and has really good combat mechanics however it feels like they put hot topic in red spandex and called it a day not at all like deadpools actual character
I have the ps4 version and playing on ps5 ive not noticed any lag, i noticed none the first time i played it on ps4 but that was ages ago so i wouldnt know if it lags on that but it was a really good game i thoroughly enjoyed it
They won't put the Activision marvel games on digital stores they have to ask disney first we're barely getting marvel vs capcom collection on ps4 and not xbox
