Just finished this game about a month ago. It’s probably my favorite hack and slash game I’ve played in a while. Simple controls, the story is okay, it emphasizes a whole lot on gameplay and best of all it gets trophy support. I got this game a year ago for $45 on eBay, it’s now jumped up all the way to $80 and it’s only going to get more expensive
I have never played this game. But I heard it was also called Logan May Cry. Because of the combo system, and breakable everything. Awesome to know Hugh brought an awesome performance to this game. An incredible gentleman 😎
Pure nostalgia as always Matty. I love Retro Rebound, my playthrough of X Men Origins Wolverine is long over due, with this video, its climbing the long backlog list.
I bought X-Men Origins Wolverine [X360] and [CIB] almost 3 years ago from Facebook Marketplace in a 4 game bundle for $45 [$11.25 for each game]. I remember playing the demo on my Xbox 360 and later on playing the game at my friend's house before I bought the game. I was lucky to have snagged it before the price skyrocketed, and a few years after Activision lost the Marvel Comics IP. I also own Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition [XOne] and Deadpool [XOne].
I played it last year and man this game's so fucken good. We desperately need a remaster! Im super excited for Insomniacs game, and Im sure it'll be even better narratively and have fun combat, but man it's got some big shoes to fill imo! Especially in terms of gore and action
Sorry my dude but the best movie tie in game of all time is Lord of the Rings Return of the King on ps2. It’s got all those behind the scenes stuff and interviews as unlockables in the game.
Love this game cause you actually get to be Wolverine and shred people up. Fun fact, the console version is censored (edit: this doesn’t include the 360 & PS3 versions) and the PC version is the uncensored version and another fun fact, the PC version is abandonware and be found on a well known [my] abandonware website. The PC version is called, “X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE - UNCAGED EDITION.” It also works with controllers (if I remember you have to hard wire your controller for it to work).
No that’s not true, the ps3 and 360 versions of the game are the uncaged edition as well. It was the ps2 and Wii versions that were censored. I had both versions because I didn’t have a ps3 when the game originally came out, but went back and got it a couple years later after I got one.
Thanks for posting I literally just gave escaping the facility cause of the turrets lmaooo but I know it’s a great game I need to finish. Posted right on time! For the movie too ofc hahah

Would be cool if they remastered it and put it on modern consoles. This and X-Men Legends II are still the best non fighting X-Men games ever. Also, it's pretty crazy we got such a good game due to a Writer's Strike.
This game, the Arkham games, the PS3 captain America game, and Marvel's spiderman games are easily the best superhero games to date and my personal favorites games for my all time favorite superheroes since I was a kid in the 90s. Still play them occasionally All still hold up and are incredibly fun
You must have missed out on quite a few Spider-Man games back in the day. Yea Wolverine is a great game and I never played the Captain America game back in the day but Spider-Man 2, Ultimate Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows were great in their time. Would definitely put them above X-men Origins: Wolverine. The Marvel Ultimate Alliance games were also great and very replayable with friends
I miss Raven Software. Jedi Knight II, Ultimate Alliance, Wolverine... Even leaving out their original titles, these guys were among the best licensed game creators out there, especially in the 2000's. Sending them to the Call Of Duty mines is one of the worst things Activision ever did.
I literally have this game sitting on my desk right now, for Xbox 360. I really hope the latest wolverine game will be just as good Insha'Allah (God willing) I cant wait to slice and dice and run through (pause) da bad guys.
I really LOVED Spiderman PS4, I liked SM2 I guess, nowhere near as much. But after seeing some stuff(yes I know it's early) but I don't see anyway I'll like it as much as I liked this. The healing was PERFECT, the brutality was AMAZING. I wish we got sequels to this like the games get now. Imagine what a God of War Ragnarok level sequel could've been for this? Or a third one?! And they just kept making it better and better.. Or even better an Arkham City level, man I miss the Arkham games.
Recently collected this in my PS3 collection. I originally played this on my 360 and I still think the final fight with Deadpool in this game was 1000 times better than the movie
For the single greatest tie in movie video game, I motion a few other options, mad max, the incredibles, but I think most of all, REVENGE OF THE SITH 😎
Ive said this for awhile now, but I really feel like Insomniac revealing their Wolverine game now 3 years ago is absolutely absurd. Especially given the fact that it’s been rumored that the game is still at least 2 years out from release, I find it almost insulting that they would so prematurely reveal a game like Wolverine. I really hope that all of this development time results in a final product thats not as rushed as SM2 ended up being with chunks of content being stripped for the final release (its sad that even the creative director Brian Intihar came out and stated that fact, basically stating the game was extremely rushed towards the end).
Also man can you IMAGINE how much better Jedi Fallen Order would've been if the limbs came off!! Oh man, that would've added 2 points to my score at least.
My biggest issue with this game is the second half. The first half is really fun when you're learning the game and everything feels new and fresh. But by halfway point you realize you're doing the same thing over and over again with very little variety mechanically or visually and end up button mashing the entire game.
This game is awesome, and it was way better than it had any right to be. The voice acting is great, and Hugh Jackman deserves a lot of praise for his work on this game. He could have been too cool for school and just phoned in his performance, but no, he went into this game with as much gusto as he does for his movies.
Thanks matty. I have a new game to play for the first time 🎉 I was unable to play these games due to not being able to afford a ps3 back in the day. I have a ps4 as of now but I currently play a lot with my pc and emulators and It's funny because I'm playing more ps3 games than on ps4 😅

yea, wolverine ain't arkam. I think the new wolverine game should have some sort of parry/dodge function but wolverine as a character is all about taking the hits. Really wish this game was easier to access on modern systems.
@@keef9924 I can’t agree with that. Sure, wolverine shouldn’t be a souls like experience. But nobody pitched that in the first place. The new wolverine game should place an emphasis on aggression similar to how doom incentivized you to keep on the offensive. However no parry button in a wolverine game would just be silly. Every movie shows wolvie parrying hits as much as he tanks them. The comics have entire arcs focused around his martial prowess where he parries katana swings, does the equivalent to dodge rolls, and throws roundhouse kicks. Saying he shouldn’t have a parry is like saying wolverine shouldn’t have a stealth feature. Turns out, the knucklehead is an expert assassin and a top tier martial artist on par with cap.
