The Web of Shadows on the Thumbnail is the PS2 version which is bad(in my opinion)don’t worry it’s not the Xbox 360 or PS3 version

I got scammed so bad with that one, it got me twice. One I bought myself and the other time it was as a gift. I played it once and was done in 2 hours, it was not a bad game but i dont want to play it again

Facts aren't opinions my man.....I never played the PS2 version....which I'm sure is trash....but the 360 one.....I'll die on the hill it's the best Spiderman game until the PS4/PS5 Spiderman games
Web of Shadows and Shaun White's Snowboarding on PS2 are the reason my mom bought me a 360. They only advertised the 360/PS3 versions but would say the game was available on PS2 (despite being a completely different game) so when my mom saw those two games she saw how bad it was and even though she just bought those games as my Christmas gifts, she turned around and got me a 360 a month later. So I'm thankful for the awful PS2 Web of Shadows because it was so bad my mom got me a new system!

Have to say though, the DS ports of Web of Shadows and Shattered Dimensions were pretty fun, basically being metroidvanias.

I remember having so much fun with the PS2 version of Friend or For. Pretty sure I primarily played it co op though
Friend or foe was the game me and my cousin would play for hours replaying it over and over it was such a fun and good game for us
You can call in other heroes in Maximum Carnage too. The thing that was cool about Separation Anxiety is it had co-op. Friend or Foe is also great. Feels to me like a Lego game, but without Legos. I love playing as Green Goblin.

I think what separated separation anxiety from maximum carnage was the 2 player functionality, it made for a much better time if you had someone joining in on it.

I'm all for the compilation style with multiple games in one, kinda takes a trip down memory lane. Now Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six I adored as a kid as that was my go to for the car journeys, a lot of fond memories with that title. I'm surprised that Maximum Carnage and Separation made the worst list, hahaha yeah they definitely didn't play these games if these made their lists. Great video as always lad.

Spider-Man for the Atari wasn't terrible. You got to wall crawl, web sling, fight goons, and have a boss battle with the Green Goblin. It wasn't exactly deep but it delivered on what should be in a Spider-Man game. Especially on the 2600.
I had that Web of Shadows game on the PSP and I liked it because of the dark atmosphere by the end where this was going to be something very dreadful to the world but that ending man 💀💀💀

The ps2 version of WoS was the only version i was ever exposed to growing up. I played it. Beat it. Sold it. Vowed to never play it again. And ever since that day, i always wonder why WoS was beloved so much. Then I discovered the PS3/360 version existed the entire time years later..
Yeah I got the game as a gift for the PS2 thinking it was gonna be the same version as the PS3 but it was the most disappointing thing in my life
That's like X-Men Origins Wolverine. If you only played the PS2/GC version you would wonder why people love it so much and that would be because the PS3/360 version is amazing.

The Web of Shadows debacle was literally my life 😭. I told my mom I wanted Web of Shadows for Christmas when it first came out. NEITHER of us knew there were TWO different versions she got me the version you just showcased and I was young so I was disappointed but I still tried it out. After I finally got a Wii and ACTUAL Web of Shadows I was amazed
Next gen hero game idea: open world where your decisions on breaking the environment get charged to your “hero account”. The grinding or “player engagement” portion of the game will be towards clearing debt and earning positive income to upgrade. Meaning if you play smart you will upgrade faster than an amateur who utilizes his environment to beat the bad guys faster.
The Web of Shadows PS2/PSP version is my only web of shadows i have to this day and i dont mind it because yeah its nowhere near the level of the ps3/xbox 360 version but i like it and i have beaten it countless times on my psp but i understand thats not everyones favorite. And that goes for friend or foe too. THAT game was my #1 spiderman game until marvel spiderman 2
Because the feeling of the game was so good so nostalgic and i love beat em up games. And the soundtrack was good too.

I actually really enjoyed Spider-Man Sinister Six (GBC), played it and beat last year for the first time. Pretty simple but really enjoyable.

All I ever hear online is that Friend or Foe is boring, but I loved it as a kid.
Maybe if I played it now I wouldn't like it as much, but that's hard for me to gauge because most old games are boring to me now.

Maximum Carnage and Separation Anxiety were made by LJN, and if you know LJN, they made a lot of crap. So their legacy is why those games are considered bad.

I kind of liked Friend or Foe as a kid. It was fun with friends. But it did get repetitive and I kind of wished I was playing other Spider-Man games instead after a while.
I was one of the kids that got the ps2 version of web of shadows and was immensely disappointed.

I got Friend or Foe and the PS2 version of Web of Shadows from Blockbuster when I was about 5 or so. I barely made it through Friend or Foe due to the emphasis on boss battles. I got them much later at GameStop and a flea market and I must admit that they were bad games. I was even confused when I played the 360 version of Web of Shadows since I didn’t know that the gameplay was different.

Yeah I think you have to give Spider-Man on Atari a pass, like- no Atari game was THAT great due to technical limitations. But I agree about Friend or Foe I think I'm a little older than you, but I remember when it came out and being like, "what the fuck is this? It looks like a game for children." And my brother whose a little younger being pretty into it with his friends, but I just remember feeling the same way as you when I played it, like- I wanted to be into it because of the premise and starting with prowler was like, "oh holy shit so it's not all just villains? Prowler is such a deep cut" but then after a little bit just being like, "this is kind of monotonous."
I was the kid who was gifted Spiderman Web of Shadows - Amazing Allies edition. I was DEVASTATED 😅. In my parents' defense they got me what I asked for. I just didn't know the PS2 version would be different and I didn't have a PS3 at the time.
I remember as a kid picking up the PS2 version of Web of Shadows and felt ROBBED afterwards! I couldn't even get passed the first stage because of bug!
I forgot what it was called but when the amazing Spider-Man came out, there was a side scroller that you could play for free on computer and it was actually pretty fun I just don’t remember what it was called

So. Five minutes in and I already have a "hot take"...I actually prefer the PS2/PSP version of Web of Shadows over the main console one. Don't get me wrong! I know it's an inferior version. I'm not gonna defend it or call it a secret masterpiece or something. I know it's got issues. BUT I still grew up with it and there's a sort of charm to it. I dunno, I think I actually prefer the side scrolling style over the open world game. Which is funny since I usually LOVE open world titles. I also prefer the dialogue choices over simply choosing a side during major cutscenes. Overall I personally just like the PS2/PSP versions of the game more. Are they bad? Eh, kind of, but I still love them for what they are.
Didn't Ron Lim pencil the Prowler? Who also did some of the Maximum Carnage art? Prowler was a Spawn like character art wise.

Friend or foe on the wii at least was really fun, repetitive sure but the vs mode was heaps of dumb fun
The funny thing is about web of shadow is also available in DS and it's 2d side scrolling too but it's better than PS2 version and has voice actor and hear this has a cutscenes on the DS and not just random text say like yay you beat the game no it's actually have cutscenes to the ending too it's funny how the DS version is better than PS2 version
Spider-Man Friend or Foe should not be in this video! It puts all other game in this video to shame. It’s one of my favorite Spider-Man games to this day. If you’re struggling to finish it I’d recommend playing it with a friend.
Spider-Man Friend Or Foe wasn't that bad. I used to have it on the Wii. It was fun but it was short and could've been better but it definitely wasn't bad.
I didn't know that Web Of Shadows came on the PS2, and I can see why they don't talk about it. The ending is just a text that says "Congratulations" just like you'd see on a NES game. Heck some NES games gave you awesome ending cutscenes, whenever you beat a game. This is just pitiful to look at.

Anyone who thinks MC is one of the worst SM games has no clue. The game literally puts panels directly from the MC comics in the game.
Also it has replayability due to some levels being different depending on which character you pic. It also has a bunch of secrets and 1 secret level.

I remember back in 2008 wanting to play Spiderman WOS and I didn't transition yet to 7th gen. What a shit game and what makes it so bad? They could have ported the version from Wii to PS2 but the actual version PS2 got was based from PSP which I played prior to getting the PS2 game. Super disappointed.

I played web of shadows version ps2 and ps3. But what many people don't know about Web of shadows ps2 is that you can web zip to enemies or web pull enemies too. Just have to press X or O right after the web zip toward an enemy.
It's like a infinite air combo. I never see anyone else show it on TH-cam. And i don't have a ps2 anyone. Can you try it and show it on your channel?
