5 Item SWAP (share with a pal) with Cara Brandon

  • This concept was inspired entirely by Gayle Agostinelli and Ceri the Crafter and Cara was kind enough to agree to swap with me. She gifted me fabulous items to work with and I created this simple folio with the treasures that were sent. It can be easily altered for any theme and can be assembled in a single craft session. I’ll come back and edit to add the link for Cara’s video. Thank you Cara, thank you all for watching and happy creating!

    Cori, this is a very organized tracking specimen journal, you thought of everything! I'm glad you don't edit. That way we see how you fix something, where as I would probably get frustrated and throw it away and then have to start over. No need to comment on my comments. I'm binge watching today. TFS! Hugs from South Dakota.

    What a cute little field folio! You're like the rest of us with gluing things down upside down or wonky and having to go back and fix it...since I'm not a glue stick user, I have to get inventive on fixing my mistakes all the time. Sometimes, it actually works out better because you have to be really creative on how to fix mistakes. :)

    • @bettymetz3746
      @bettymetz3746 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just curious, how do you work without using any glue stick? Is there a reason?

    • @doodahgurlie
      @doodahgurlie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bettymetz3746 I use acid-free glue (my favorite is the Scotch Create but I have been testing good quality PVA glue recently...double-sided tape is employed at times as I used to make albums years ago and still have quite a bit of it left). I hate glue sticks because they are messy to use and things that you glue down will eventually fall off a few years later.

I would take it out occasionally and gently stroke it, treating it more like a pet:) I love how you use the dried baby’s breath. Do you just press it between heavy books? • @CoriDahmen

      I use the laminator (the heat) to adhere the ledger to the file folder. The heat reactivates the glue and the pressure eliminates any gaps or bubbles. I get a better adhesion when I use the laminator.
