- This video shows my process for making and using scrap pieces to make page bases for a journal. There is a quick use-up-a-digital-page pocket project and my favorite system for adding signatures to a journal. Thank you for watching and happy creating.
Cori, I truly admire your esthetic. You have a discerning eye, coordinating papers and embellishments. Even when you repeat favorites they look totally different! Its magic. 💜
It's a good thing you have boundless energy--all you've been through in the last year would have thrown the average human down for the count. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. You're a born teacher.
Thank you and I sure wish I had the energy I had even 10 years ago. I love sharing ideas and I appreciate hearing that the videos are helpful ❤
Good tip.... get a dish drying mat from dollar store and fold in half. Put it under your sewing machine and then it can be slid on your table instead of lifting it each time you need it. Diane Hubert showed that a while back on her channel and I shared it with my Mom. She said it was a game changer!! Love your process video!! Good luck with the flooring😟🥰🥰🥰
Great tip and thank you very much!
I love how you put your pages together. ❤ This Video is definitely in my saved playlist. 😊 Thank you and take care of yourself!
Love love love that old Indianapolis map! It’s my hometown, I love all things Indianapolis. Great idea for a pocket! Thanks
Since that is Indiana, I was born in New Market, 7 miles from Crawfordsville. I was born in 1934. Love your videos.
Bless you and thank you for having an incredible state ❤️
Oh no what a mess! So sorry about the floor fiasco! I love the way you sew in signatures. Unfortunately, me and the sewing machine are still having issues, and yes with the new one too! 😂 Thank you so much for bringing us another inspirational video, even through all the repairs and devastating events. We so love to hear from you! Sending you lots of peaceful energy and warm hugs ❤️❤
Well, dang. I wish I could come over and help you trouble shoot. The darn machine should cooperate! Thank you and bless you ❤️
Welcome back…as much as I’ve missed you, I want you to take care of yourself first…you are MY FAVORITE…I love your voice, teaching, ideas etc ❤️❤️❤️
You are so kind, thank you. Your sweet words? Well, they mean a lot ❤
I am so eager to try this method of sewing in signatures. Thanks so much for being so detailed in your tutorial Cori. Blessings from Ohio.
Thank you, Betty. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and please, enjoy a beautiful early Ohio summer ❤
So glad you came back even if its briefly, like others missed your brilliant videos. Good luck with the floor hope it is sorted quickly. We will all be waiting for you ❤
Thank you very much and I hope so too!
Thank you, Cori. You always present such interesting content and I was really happy to see you had a video released. 😀 We consider water in our houses as an essential, however, when it’s running/dripping where it shouldn’t, what a huge repair can result in both time and money! Hopefully, it’s finished sooner rather than later! Love and big hugs! 😀💞
Thank you, sweet Keryn. It never ceases to amaze me how much damage can be done in such a short amount of time. But, I’m grateful it wasn’t worse.
Just what everyone wants to do- remove an entire floor of flooring. So nice that we get to see you today, as I’m sure I’m not the only one who has missed you and wondered what’s up. I always enjoy watching you put together a signature and hearing your thought processes along the way. This one is so nice thanks to the unique vintage papers. We are in the process of packing up our home and moving to a cute condo exactly one mile in between both daughters. After the last two winter storms and losing many tall pines and 40’ limbs, we decided that since this condo was available, we should grab it. Now we can have property care done by someone younger! I’ll miss the wildlife and rural setting, however, we are looking forward to being so close to the kids. See you next time, Cori.
Best wishes to you on the very BIG changes heading your way. Thank you for the kindness ❤
I live two hours south of Indianapolis and a few miles north of the Ohio River. I think Shipshawana is pretty much due north and a little east of Indy. I was there about 5 years ago on a girls trip. Need to go again.........love your videos.
I think you’re exactly right! If you do go up that way, there is an antique mall in Nappanee that was excellent! Really good pretzels too.
Another fab journal Cori. Re your sewing machine … I am thinking it was your magic idea to place it on top of a “top shelf turned upside down” IKEA trolley ??? Well I took this idea onboard and it is the perfect solution to always have my machine ready to go, and it gets used on a daily basis with total ease. Can’t wait to make some of the cool 3-pocket & 1-tuck spot embellishment you taught!! 😊😊
Loved everything about this! The cover, though, was my favorite. I love recycling, or upcycling?, stuff that normally would go in the trash. TFS
Love the journal!! I was cracking up when I saw the Indianapolis Indiana map!! Could you hear me telling you "Cori, go north!! Shipshewana is North"!! We love that whole area!! The flea market is the bomb!! Looking forward to the collab you have coming up!! Big hugs from your favorite hoosier (who FINALLY retired last week!!) Always, Leslie
I don't know why it shows that OLD gmail?!?! I think the grandkids may have been playing with the laptop 😂😂😂
Woo hoo! Congratulations on your well-earned, wonderfully deserved retirement! Enjoy the heck out of this next stage. Thank you and bless you!
So glad you’re back! Missed you❤.
😊 thank you ♥️
Hi, Cori
I live in Bloomington, Indiana, so was surprised to see your map of Indiana. 😊
Aww Cori, so very nice to see you again. Love your videos, your binding technique, your thought process, your way of explaining-thank you. I love to use my sewing machine as much as I possible, just looks a bit intimidating to sew the signatures, but I’m going to try it!. So sorry to hear about the floor issue. Please take care and see you on the next video. 😊❤
Thank you and I [promise, once you sew the signatures this way you'll see how effective it can be. Or not. Everyone has a different preference 😊. Happy creating to you!
Welcome back, Cori. Was wondering about you, what a mess you’re having to deal with! I hope it all goes smoothly and you can get your lovely vintage style craft room back to working order soon. Thank you for the inspiration, love your videos….all of them!!
Thank you very much ❤
I’m glad you’re back and hope everything goes well. 🤞😘
Thank you!!
I missed you! Glad things are moving along so you can paper again!!
Thanks Lisa. I’d love to paper together… soon!
Your video was just what I needed today. Thanks for the inspiration
That’s great to hear. Bless you!
Hi sweet Cori! It was so great to see your video as always!!! Scchool must be close to over for the year. Did you have a good year? Man, can't believe the amount of damage the water leak made!!! My little grand daughter just graduated from kindergarten. She's no longer a "kinderbabe". My oldest grand daughter's violin recital is tomorrow. She's 10. I'm trying to re-do my craft room. My husband got me one of those wooden storage containers that take up the whole wall. For the past 5 years, I've used those plastic clear containers. I had no idea how much I had. Take care. Have been thinking about you so much. ❤
School is out for us on the 21st and I hope to have the bulk of the repairs done by then as I’ll be able to do the finish stuff (baseboard, trim, paint, etc) myself to save some money. I love the kinderpeople at our school as they always, always make me smile. I’m also eternally grateful for the incredible people that teach those littles. Best wishes to you as you set up a craft space that encourages, uplifts and inspires you ❤
Sound is great .. love your video .. take care 😀
Thank you! 🤗
Good to see you. Nice video👍🧡💐🍀
Thank you 😊
Thanks, Cori for the videolove it. I love corigated paper. I get mine from boxes taking them apart. I love how you put your inserts in. 😅😮
I hope you get your home done quickly so you can put your craft room back together.
I do that too. It’s a bit different from the Amazon packaging I used on this journal , but it’s great stuff 😊
You are awesome, I enjoy you so much! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent. My house is being redone, I mean redone, had to move out completely October 1st and it's still not ready yet. I can so relate to what you are going through with the house, but you have a lot more to deal with personally, sending all good thought your way.
WOW!!!! That is a seriously long time. I'm so sorry and I hope that your home will be completed and ready for you to return very soon ❤️
Sorry about your leak. We had a similar situation right before Christmas last year. No fun! 💓💓💓
No indeed, but I’m trying to make the best of it!
Sound is fine. Always so glad to see you have posted. Love that Amazon cover. Blessings❤️
Thank you so much and hugs to you ❤️
🙋🏼♀️Cori
Loved this video, gave me a few giggles over picking what papers and what goes with that lol
I do that😅
Now this method of puting pages in, tried it and really enjoyed just how fast it is, also adding extra pieces for the pages I have so many scraps so Im going to do that
Id like to try the elastic method as well for note books in yr purse when they are full just replace
Thank you Cori
🌷🌟🐨😊
Though I try not to let it happen, my mind ALWAYS squirrels when I pick out signature pages. I suppose that is part of the fun. Thank you ❤️
I have sound….Good to see a video from you!
Thank you, Sandi 😊
Sound was perfect. So happy to craft with you. Hope the home repairs go smoothly. Love the idea of creating with all your left over bits. I always take out to much 😆. Sending peace your way Cori ❤
Thank you, Risa ❤️
So lovely to see you back Cori. Gosh what a nightmare you’re having - hopefully it all goes smoothly from here on. I look forward to the next stage - decoration time❤
Thank you and yes, 2024 has been a year of trials and challenges. I'm also looking forward to seeing what additional trouble I can create by using up these scraps 😊
So great to see one of your videos. Sorry to hear of your house troubles, as you say it has been a rough year for you. I hope when the work is all done it will feel like a positive outcome from a negative experience. If you have a moment could you jot down the model number of your Stylist sewing machine. It looks like there are several. I like the idea of the hand controls too 🙂
Thank you and certainly! It's a Singer Stylist 7258. And just amen. I had just finished creating a guest room when the leak occurred. It will be nice to have the house whole once again 😊
@@CoriDahmen Thanks Cori, that's much appreciated 💚
So happy to see you cori. I really enjoyed watching this process of putting in signatures. TFS🌴💕
Thank you, Annette. I have missed being in the craft room and sharing ideas with friends ❤️
Great sound here
Thank you for letting me know😊
I first learned to make that pocket from Joie de Fi, but don't know whether she was the original designer or not. It's a great pocket. ~ Lisa
Thank you! Joie is a sweetheart and agree. No idea if she was the originator, but it is a super way to make a pocket and use a digital page 😊
😍❤️
❤❤
Love this process! I was wondering what happened with you -- what a mess in your house :( I hope the end of the school year goes smoothly ♥
I hope so too and thank you very much. 3 weeks and counting 😊
“ It’s always a good to start to your day when you have ….
“ Coffee with Cori”
So “good morning from sunny NH!” The bluebirds are out and about … turkeys in the field…bright blue sky… and flowers
What a lovely morning view you have to enjoy. Good morning, sweet Joy ❤
I love your videos. I have been watching for hours. Can you tell me where you get that paper that looks like cross stitch fabric? but it's really paper? I have seen it everywhere in all your Cluster videos but can never quite catch what the name of it is or where I may find it. I love it. I tried googling it but the closest I could find is Perforated paper but it doesn't look quite the same. Thanks so much!
Thank you and sure! It’s called perforated paper and it comes in several colors. I get mine through Amazon.
@@CoriDahmen Thank you so much
@@CoriDahmen Thank you so much for replying. I have one more question.....I have been trying to find a Gorilla brand glue stick. Does yours say "kids" on it? That is all I see? lol
Hi is this the same as the other journal that you made .
No, very different. I'm sharing this with, hopefully, some new ideas using up scraps.
I do not have audio. I turned up my volume, still nothing.
I'm sorry that happened! When I played it there was sound... I wonder if that was a YT thing and it was resolved?
No sound
Thank you for letting me know. I hope it was resolved on your end!
Hi Cori, I’m a new subscriber via Rana @lylocrafts channel when she used your #littlebitsoflace2024 hashtag. I’m excited to watch more of your videos. 💓Jill
Thank you, Jill and welcome! I hope something you see here encourages and inspires you to create ❤
