    Thanks so much for this. I bought a 2022 Tiguan last week and by 200 miles the dreaded rattle started louder than my 2018 Tiguan of 30k miles. Popped the panel off, sprayed on not only that metal piece but some of the seatbelt apparatus and boom it’s silent. You’re the man!

      Thinking about picking up a new tiguan. Has this fix worked for you long term? Looks like a great car outside of this issue

      @Jcosh84 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@caprica_13 so I think it has the potential to be “long-term” but maybe some lithium grease or something would outlast the WD. I have to take mine off again soon and redo it as it’s getting loud but I’ve been too busy and just turned up the radio instead. Lol. Great car though regardless.

      @@Jcosh84 Thanks for the response! I think I'm gonna go ahead with the purchase tomorrow - this seems like it's easy enough to deal with lol rest of the car is worth it

      Can you point me in the right direction of trying to remove the plastic piece right in the beginning of the video? Just got a 2022 as well and do not want to break anything. lol

    Thank you!!! Dealership thought they fixed with felt tape but was still there, so annoying. So did this and got that area and the seatbelt area, also noticed a plastic clip at the top of the seatbelt guide, very top was ticking to. So put some felt tape on the little piece to secure so it won't rattle, it' was plastic on metal. Test drove and no noise so far. Loving the car again. Thanks

    I have the same problem whit my 2022 Tiguan R Line, what is the difference between standard WD40 and WD 40 Silicone, does it have any adhesive properties?

      @@bobjurenko1220 So I removed the B pillar panels and the noise I’m hearing is not coming from what is shown in the video. It turns out it is actually in the grab handles.

      @bobjurenko1220 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jray3111 Thanks for the reply. In the last hour I went out to the vehicle and tried this repair, but you are correct, the noise is not coming from that piece of metal, it’s coming from somewhere above the B pillar beneath my roof liner. Not going to try and tackle any more troubleshooting tonight!

      There is a technical service bulletin from 2018 regarding this issue. It was supposedly fixed, but has crept back into the 2022 vehicles. It involves a dealer removing every piece of interior trim that is attached to the pillars, and the headliner. They will use a hole punch to punch several holes into the inner piece of sheet metal, then spray a Teflon spray in the void. It completely removes the problem, but congratulations! Instead of new car smell, you will now smell grease and sweat when you get in your vehicle. If I had it to do over, I would wait until winter for them to do this repair.

    well a great solution, how it does in the long term??

  • @terrysmith1456

    I think (no I know) I have solved my rattle.....I would have bet my mortgage that it was in the B post and took the trim off to find very little that could make the rattling, sprayed some WD40 here and there but with no real conviction. Put all the trim back and went for a test drive. Tried to convince myself that the rattle wasn't so bad so repeated the above, second test run no better but noticed it got worse when cornering when the body twisted.... then the penny dropped it wasn't the B post it was the DOOR. Got back loosened the striker plate knocked it up a mm or two tightened it up and went for a third test...... SILENCE did the same to the other thee doors and I now drive with a relayed air and a broad smile.

    Mine has a really annoying buzzing rattle coming from the right front area. Happens when I accelerate and the turbo spins up. It's all the shitty hard plastic crap on the interior. It's a good commuter car but nothing more than an appliance at the end of the day. I miss my old Cayenne. Even at 18 years old nothing ever rattled.
