    One of those pieces of kit you never thought you needed until you have one. Thanks for the video.

      Thankyou John. It's true. Never needed one until I had one, and then got a bike that didn't have one and I needed one. Hahaha thanks again

    Bought the display with socket and cable pins not asembled , your video shows the correct colors to put it together, Thanks!. Note: Instruction diagram provided on my kit were wrong, it has white cable above red (which is wrong, red is the only correct).

      Hi @versamedium, I'm glad it all worked out for you okay. Not a lot of money for something so useful. Thank you for your comments.

    I just got one and yes it works great I just had to use the blank connector that was plugged into the diagnostic as the one that came with it did not fit but it work so good

    I also have a similar cheap gear indicator on my Kawasaki Vulcan S. I made a video of my installation on YT. However, one of my viewers claims that these are unreliable and can ruin the motorcycle's ECU. This is what the viewer wrote "The port is the data port(similar/same as CANBUS/OBDII on cars) which also connects to ABS system and as cheap aftermarket parts sometimes do fail in spectacular ways(water ingress being a prime example where you could get 12v on the data lines, and have seen this as sometimes they convert between 12v and 3.3v or 5v, for the product in question) if the ECU didnt expect consumer use of the port(hence why its default state is capped off to prevent ingress), it may not have short protections on those lines(definitely no fuses), and by frying it you could throw numerous codes which could/would throw some ECU's into a limp mode(if your lucky) some will just say sorry not sorry, you no longer have EFI, ABS, or any other system" ... Are there any truth in this statment!?

      Hej Sam.
      How is your gear indicator working so far? Have you managed to find any more information regarding whether this chinese gear indicator can be a threat to our ECUs? I am looking to buy two pieces and the difference in the investment is significant, if I should by Healtech instead of the chinese ones.
      Tack för hjälpen!

      @@nasosal Mine still works well, I have had mine installed for almost 1 year and there have been no problems at all. I do not think you need to worry, lots of people use these cheap gear indicators and I personally have not seen anyone in real life who has had problems with these. Feel free to watch my channel for my installation video and review.

      @@SamOnABikeSweden Thank you Sam. I had watched your video (and a few of your trips), but I wanted to know how it behaved after some months of use, just because I too read some similar stories about fried ECUs. I'll probably go for the same Chinese version and hope for the best. :)
      Ha det fint och kör försiktigt. :)

    Hi GeeTee. Like you I have a 2014 SX. How does the gear indicator fix to the dash? Thanks, Tim.

    • @geetee5509
      @geetee5509  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tim, mine is stuck on with 3m sticky pads that came with the gear indicator. I've seen other people using Velcro too. There's plenty of cable length to remove the dash and leave the gear indicator stuck there or use Velcro as others have done. Thankyou for your comments.

      @@geetee5509 Hi Fella. Well finally bought one and fitted it in seconds. The colour of the indicator is green but it is very bright. Can the light level be dimmed so not to glare so much?

    It could ruin your bike’s ecu. The poor man spends twice..beware

    • @nasosal
      @nasosal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It could, but will it? Or has it? I mean, apart from the scary stories, is there actual data that supports this claim? And I am not talking about your cousin's cousin's friend who knows a guy. Has anyone's ECU been ruined by a non-Healtech gear indicator?
      'Cause you know, Healtech probably doesn't manufacture its devices themselves, they most likely outsource them to a Chinese factory and the chances that this cheap indicator is produced by the exact same production line, except it doesn't have the same logo, are quite high.
      So, again, is there data to support the claim that it "could" ruin the ECU?

    • @rcannon409
      @rcannon409 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will not. It uses the same technology the real one does....if what you said was valid, and it isnt, the Health could ruin it as well.
