Would this be an issue if I can’t pump gas? I’ve already replaced the purge valve. This video is the only one I could find to help me locate it on a 2008 F150, thank you!
Can you link the part you replace it with in the description? Rock auto, I find difficult to navigate. If I put in "Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit" it brings up the vapor canister, which clearly isn't the same thing. "Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid" I believe is the part that I actually need to get. They have 3 but it probably doesn't really matter which I get.
What do you want help with? The part I replaced is called a Vapor Canister Vent Valve / Solenoid. I bought my part off of RockAuto under the exhaust and emissions drop down menu. If you freeze at 12 seconds you will see a diagram which shows this circuit. Its on the bottom right, Canister Vent Solenoid. Most of the time replacing this part will fix this code. If it does not there is an issue with the wiring or PCM. You can check to see if you have power back to the plug before buying the part if you want. Mine was in horrible condition so I just replaced it and it fixed the code. The video shows this process
@@Rough-HewnCraftsman I’m chasing a ghost and believe it or not there’s hardly anyone here where I live that knows anything about this F150. And the people that are around me who do know want me to sell the farm in order to pay for them to fix the problems with my truck. I’ve owned several vehicles over the years and I’m not a certified ASE mechanic but I’m decent in most repairs. I have lots of tools that I’ve accumulated over the years. But this 2005 F150 is a vehicle that’s kicked my butt. The truck runs but it runs rough at idle. I’ve replaced the fuel pump driver module, the throttle body, the crank shaft positioner, the cam phaser sensors, mass airflow sensor, new oxygen sensors, new spark plugs, new coil packs, new fuel injectors, and there’s a tiny little switch in there behind the fuse panel called a crash sensor emergency shut off switch. I replaced that, that was a pain in the neck to install. New catalytic converters. Nothing I do seems to make any real difference. So I’ve read that it could possibly be the evap canister that’s maybe causing it to idle rough . The real question what haven’t I replaced yet. This truck is the hardest truck I have ever worked on. Pretty soon I’ll have to leave it sitting in my garage until I can afford to take it to a repair shop. I’m grasping at straws trying to get this stupid thing fixed. And from what I’ve been reading there’s thousands of other guys out here that have also dealt with this exact same issue. The guy who had it before me said that he paid a mechanic shop to replace the cam phasers and a new timing chain set. And I actually called them and they told me that they remembered the truck that I bought and yes they did replace the timing chain set . Long story short, I’m almost to the end of my ability to diagnose and repair this thing. If this doesn’t work with the EVAP CANISTER I’m gonna have to save my money and find a mechanic shop that’s hopefully not going to break the bank in order to get it run correctly.. I feel like I’m almost there, I think I’m close. Yes I did replace the fuel filter. And I got underneath it and had my wife turn the ignition key on and I was able to verify that the fuel pump is working because I could hear it turn on. Like I said I’m close, just not there yet
@@matthewhuling8582 If no codes are present I would check cylinder compression in each cylinder. If they are all good then I would find a good mechanic who can look at live data to determine what the issue is, like ScannerDanner. He actually just did a video on a 2006 F150, check it out. Vacuum leak is a possibility as well.
@@matthewhuling8582 @Rough-HewnCraftsman I don't know if you resolved the issue you described above but I had this exact same problem you are describing late last year with my 2005 f150. Mine would be fine at speed but the second I slowed down for a stop sign or light the engine would die. I replaced the mass air flow sensor and the fuel filter. That did not fix it. took it to my local shop and they put in a new fuel pump control module which you have done, however they also replaced the mass air flow sensor which i had just done the only difference is that their fix worked and mine didn't. You may want to check the parts you replaced. As for Matthew, I found your page while attempting to resolve an issue with my 2007 work truck. Thank you for showing the installation procedure, no narration needed.
Whoever posted this video. Thank you so much. This is the only video I found with actually sense. Thank you

I have a hoose hanging from there what could i be?

Is this located in the rear do u have any other angles I can’t seem to find it on my truck and I have the same code
I have a 09 Ford f150 v8 4.6 and the evap valve and charcoal canister are located under the driver's door, hope it helps.
I have a 2005 f150 4.6 mines just before the spare tire
Hmmm so no narration, didn’t learn a damn thing. That was a complete waste of time
