    This is installing an Invidia up-pipe and catless downpipe that has had a high flow cat added. the main reason for this is that the factory exhaust was rusting out and leaking.

    Is that up pipe catted?? 06+ should have been no cat since the Secondary AP system.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, there is no cat in the up pipe that came off or went on.

    did you have to change also the up pipes , or just with the down pipe was enough, Did you have clearance issues with the Auto Transmission ? I being told that it could happend. I have a 2007 XT A/T just like yours.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not have to change the up pipe to do this. There were no clearance issues with the transmission either.

  • @federicocerbonim7654

    I change the exhaust with a "Turbo" SS pipe. If I change the down pipe, do I have to tune the engine, like you mentioned with Stage II ??

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You should be fine swapping the exhaust without a tune. If you swap out the intake, then you would want to as anything on the intake side will have a greater impact on performance.

      @@DIYEVERYTHING Thank you for your answer. What I look for is more efficiency. free a restricted engine from factory, so I installed a K&N air filter (original) type and a "free" flow exhaust ( Turbo SS) mid pipe, but in order to "complete" the idea, have to change the down pipe, which what I'm going to do... Envidia? My XT is for normal street city driving, I just like to make a "better" standard Forester, better brakes (EBC ventilated, perforated and slots), KYB with Swiff , 225-55/17 Toyo TR1 tires and a exhaust system. Thank you for your interest. keep on with your mods.

    Just to check if I got this right because i plan to do this on mu FXT - factory downpipe has a small cat inside than you have a main cat after. Downpipe you installed has only one cat, somewhere where the factory main cat is located? So you basically let you car breaths or to be precise farths :) easier, but did you have problem from lambda probe switching check engine lamp?

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Older models had a cat and temp sensor in the up pipe that could break apart and destroy the turbo. Subaru eliminated that with the facelift (SG9) from 06+ models. The factory down pipe (J pipe) has 2 small cats, one before and one after the O2 sensor. I eliminated the one before the O2 and added a high flow cat after the o2 sensor. The only reason I added the cat back into the system was for "emissions" and to prevent boost creep. I never had an issue with the cel coming on after this modification. I also had a pro tune within a month after, so it may have never had the chance to come on before the values were altered.

      @nebojsateofilovic381 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DIYEVERYTHING Thanks for reply. I have an SG9 and I plan to do something as you - i am building a belmouth downpipe without the cat and I will keep the second cat. I am just wondering because lambda is between the cats. I am not worried about CEL it is easily eliminated but my concern is more towards if the second lambda data could lead to lean mixture. One idea is to move the lambda behind the second cat.

    Unfortunately the hyperlinks no longer work. Which dump pipe did you use for this install?......I was under the impression the Invidia dump contacts the steering knuckle on lock requiring a small dent to be added into the dump to provide clearance ???

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your down pipe contacts the steering knuckle then you're doing something wrong. There's a good 6 to 8 inches between components.

    • @dronedownunder652
      @dronedownunder652 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIYEVERYTHING In Australia the steering wheel and steering rack are on the right hand side. There is a contact issue with the steering knuckle requiring a small 5mm indentation t on the right hand side of the bell-mouth to provide clearance. This is when using the WRX dump. In Australia Invidia dont make a dedicated Foz dump.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jerstolp1 The SG body was 04 to 08. The reason a lot of the 04 STI parts are a direct swap is that they ran a 5X100 wheel and shared the same type of strut mounts. But things like the steering rack, for example, your best to get from an 05 to 07 STI rack. There are a lot of parts from different years that fit and a lot that don't but it's fun to learn and experiment with.

      It's worth it to get rid of the up pipe with cat which is restrictive.. Bout 10 hp or so lil faster spool.. Not that the fxt needs that on td04 lol.. But biggest part is getting that car outta there so it done eventually break up n go into you're turbo
