Seriously doing burnouts and banging gears in other people muscle cars.....if I were the owner, I would not be happy.....but your videos are always fun and great to watch.
God Lord! I had a '69 Cobra Jet Drag Pack 428 4-speed with the 4.30 rear I bought from a buddy in 1979 for 1,300 bucks. I'm serious. I sold it two years later for 1,800, and thought I'd cut a fat hog. The car only lost twice in the endless races we had on beer-infested Hwy 140 west of town. Lol. State troopers would roll in around 11:30 or midnight, make us pour out any opened beers, and tell us if they caught anyone out there later we'd go to jail. We respected them cuz they were all street racers from the fifties and sixties, and they respected us cuz we were just doing, well, the same crazy shit they'd done as dumbass kids. Funny how that works...
In the 80s I got my hands on a mid 68 428 CJ and after a complete rebuild put it in a 75 F100 4x4, where it still lives to this day. Loads of power and 14 mpg. Fun ride.
the old Fords of the sixties early seventies like these mustangs, Torino's, mercury cyclones looked like they were going fast when they were sitting still, beautiful designs.
Back in the days we had the cars and strip and the cops sometimes would watch and sometimes bet. I lost a few friends and we named a couple of camaro's after them. Man I miss my old buddies and the hot rods of my youth. I Was called the mustang maniac.
That's my goal, to show them flaws and all! Thanks for noticing my effort, instead of saying something stupid, like "...took all professional out" by doing a burnout! Thanks, Jason Phillips, Michigan auto appraiser
With a pony that badass, why not? That is one SEXY automobile. And I for one, wouldn't want one so perfect I'd be afraid to drive it. Cause it would be a mortal sin to not allow that big F.E. to let out some aggression every now and then.
My favorite vintage of Mustangs for sure....This thing just wants to go fast! Too bad about the minor paint bubbles, so nice underneath though. That is such a strange intake manifold design, so much to know about the various Ford V8 designs...
I'd have to go back and study the video to see. It could have been a weird reflection, or real though I may not have caught it. I should hire you to inspect and proof! Thanks, Jason Phillips, auto appraiser
Crappy paint job for what is otherwise a very nice resto mod. No excuse for that much orange peal in the finish and what look to some dirt as well. This can be clearly seen at 1:56.
The 427 side oiler was not an option for a 69 Mach 1. Also if the car was ordered with 3.91:1 or shorter gear that automatically made the car a 428 SCJ with Cobra lemans rods, and the oil cooler up front.. R code means it was born a 428 with the shaker hood option. Q code is 428 CJ or SCJ ,and NO shaker hood. When selling a car it's a good idea to show both Vin & door tags to eliminate any confusion...The W code 427 was an option for the Cougar in 1968..Ford Changed the engine VIN code in different years. 1971 R code is the Boss 351 Cleveland. 72 R code is 351 HO....
With So Low of Miles,What Happened To 428 cj that Came in It.427 IS Stronger Mtr.,but U Say THIS ENGINE HAS BEEN REBUILT,.SOMEONE JUST GET A GOOD BUY ON MTR.?Don't Tell Usually See Michigan Muscle Cars in This Good of SHAPE, TO LOOK UNDERNEATH THE CAR,LOOKS ALMOST AS CLEAN AS SOUTHERN CAR.On the Clock,Lot's of Times if U Take it Out Of Glv.Comp.Simply Lubricate it&:Put a Little Air To Clean It & They Start up Again.,About Half the Time.Definetely a RUNNER.I DIDN' T NOTICE A TACH,BUT SURELY IS There,On SCJ,Should be STK.?
yEd - Lots of these "go fast" muscle cars were bought, raced and blown up in the day! It's more common to see replacement engines than it is real ones! You are probably right too, guy got a deal on this 427! Thanks- Jason Phillips auto appraiser in michigan
Nice looken & driving car, I had some fast fo-mo-cos in the 60's like a 66 fairlane GTA candy red WARMED UP, that went quite nice with the 389 gear, HEADERS AND A DYNO TUNE UP, with the C6 tranny, and my 67 Mustang GTA COUPE, 389. gear, and my 64 fairlane 289 k code that tore up a lot of fast cars in my town in wheaton IL.WELL KEEP ON KEEPEN ON.
? Been worked over. Needs clutch pedal carriage replaced. 40k= 75k
John-
Yes, it was probably driven pretty hard in the day! 1969 R code Cobra Jets just seem to just keep going up in value.
Thanks, Jason the appraiser
I agree at least 75K
Absolutely dig this mustang 🐎
Beautiful car

Robert Lloyd I wish I could have been around in those days

I had the same but in automatic and was the king of the street races in van Nuys ca in 1979-1982.
@dan b I remember it well...

Very nice! My buddy had 69 Cougar with nearly the same setup. Same color too! Fun times
427 shaker ???
This car ever sell.Very cool with the 427.A Michigan car its whole life?
Yessss a 4 spd, a real muscle car . Not a auto girls car.
One of the absolute best car reviews I have watched and listened to. Real deal knowledgeable .👍👍
335hp for a 428 was an underestimate.more like 450hp.
Yep! Mine dyno'd at 510hp to the wheels.
427 side Oiler that makes this Mach1 greatest

Was called the mustang maniac.
Beautiful color. My fave on a MACH I.
Thank yuh Jason! Good job bossman!
nice to see a true apprasil showing flaws and all. very very nice car. the owner would no doubt be a little sad to see it go.

Those bubbles are rust. Notorious spots for rust.
Nice car with potential for a proper restoration. The Hurst shifter was aftermartket in 69.
That is an incorrect statement. Most of the factory performance Ford & Mercury cars had Hurst shifters.
comes with the dead sea scrolls huh..lol
410 Drag pack .That might explain what happened to the 428. SCJ. The Shaker suggest R code. But showing us the Vin tag proves it..Nice Mach...
The engine might be a 427, but not an R code.
It could also be a 3.91: 1.
The rear diff. could have been changed.
My favorite vintage of Mustangs for sure....This thing just wants to go fast! Too bad about the minor paint bubbles, so nice underneath though. That is such a strange intake manifold design, so much to know about the various Ford V8 designs...
Nice mark-one my mom and dad have a 69 what's the gear ratio in that car?
Shaker is supposed to shake at idle...
How much?
dont know what theysoldit for but it isnt worth what they are askink, too much to do to it to get it close to right
how bout the dent in the passenger 1/4 extension

Hello! Is this car still available? Thank you in advance for your response.
Rio Schiavone I'm sorry it is gone
Hello I'm looking to get 69s . How much should I expect to pay for one in similar condition. Thank you
Very nice. Was the engine built to factory 425 HP specs or a little hotter? Also, is a high zinc content oil being used to prevent cam lobe failure?
Yes to both questions. Engine hopped up a little and running on the "V" oil.

Is this car from the south ? Looks like my old car ! 427 and all !!! Nice car
It's been in Mi. since early-mid 1970's, but mostly in storage all of it's life!
Are U Allowed To Give Price on U TUBE,serms I Hard Time Pulling UP Prices on ur BROWSER??
Absolutely Ed! It's still America, until Trump sells us off to Russia!
I think it's a W or Q code 427.
Exhaust manifolds look totally wrong to be a 427 R code.
The 427 side oiler was not an option for a 69 Mach 1. You call that performance?? You did nothing.
Thanks for the video
how can it be an R-code Mach 1?if it has a 427 SO it's not a ram air 428.duh!
Not a 428 conbra jet
If I Come Up to LOOK ,AT IT,WILL SHOW U HOW TO CHIRP GEARS IN AT LEAST 2nd & Maybe 3,rd W/ That 427,Unless It's Only Got 3.00 Rear Gears.LOL
