      Lost my dad in January and now I’m putting together the 69 fastback he got as a project (running no accidents, one owner, almost no rust, and it’s been garaged 13 years after we took it apart for body work. I’ve added more parts and once it’s done all the electrical and mechanical parts will either be rebuilt original or new repro parts. Dad already got a complete Thrustmaster long tube headers exhaust kit, suspension kit, and I added an Edelbrock manifold and carb and plan to switch out the stock 3 speed manual for a C6 automatic. Should be in for paint and body reassemble next month, got the money need to find the right place. It’s all there now just time and patience.
      Only thing neither of us liked is the Gawd awful original yellow paint job. Not sure which color my dad was leaning towards but I’m going all black as the interior as far as the seats and door panels are still in good shape. The carpet and headliner I also have ready to go in. Adding in AC too, can’t drive it all sweaty now.

Now I have my former daily driver 87 5.0 LX and 16 GT current daily driver. @@TheDutchTexan Sorry my bad, just noticed the valve cover bolt locations aren't correct for a Cleveland . So your saying the car has a stroker 302 to a 363 cu in motor . The 351 Windsor was the smallest motor Ford offered for the Mach 1 in 69. She sounds sweet ! Love MY 69 Mach as well !

    Need's different exhaust though, this sounds like a typical Flowmaster exhaut EVERYBODY and their brother has now days. A car like this needs cherry bombs or straight pipes

      I actually love the sound of the car. It's perfect, and the acceleration run is just perfection in my mind. Straight pipes would be way too loud. But this is what I love about the car community. Everyone has a different opinion, and that is how we keep it fresh!

    I will have to tell you that the 69 is OK. The finest Mustang Fastback was the original first year fastback. Find yourself a 65 Mustang 2+2 or GT and you will see Big Daddy where it all began. My favorite is the 68 GT fastback. Yep, the same car that is called the Bullitt Mustang, you know what I am talking about? And in the Highland Green or the Ocean Deep Blue. These cars don't have to have a stroker engine nor the 5 speed Tremek. The Borg Warner top loader 4 speed was cool enough for me.

    • @TheDutchTexan
      @TheDutchTexan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually reviewed a 1965 fastback! It was an auto and no where near as quick as this one but still all smiles. And I know Bullitt, one of the best car chases in any movie. When it down comes to MOPARS the 1968 charger reigns supreme because of it.
      And sure, they don't need to have more power and drivability. But it sure as heck makes them more fun! I am glad we don't all like the same stuff. It would be boring if we did.
