Thought this was gonna be a useless video since kydex is plastic and it’s common sense you can use heat to re-mold it but there is an extremely valuable tip in this video that’s worth its weight in gold and that is if you want to tighten it, you heat the trigger guard. If you want to loosen it, you heat the slide. I was heating it all over and getting frustrated with the results. Thank you.
Every holster I purchase for a weapon mounted light i have to adjust with a heat gun from the get....gotten too the point were I can turn holsters from one gun to something completely different...just turned a sig p320 holster into a glock 48...ordered a g45 w/x300 holster and it fit so bad I used it for a sig p320 xcarry w/x300...then today I got a holster for a g45 w/x300 ...gun wouldn't even go in the holster..the battery catch on the bottom off the x300a was hitting it...took 2 minutes to fix with a heatgun....these are not cheap or unknown companies either...I luv my heatgun
Your video was great, and I was able to convert a BlackPoint Kydex to fit a new pistol. I used my wife’s Embossing Heat Tool, which she uses for crafts, to heat the Kydex. They run $10.00 to $20.00 on Amazon. Now an old but great holster has a new life.
I need to tighten mine up. I have a custom 1911 and the holster I have was modeled by the company for a standard 1911. On mine the slide is a little slimmer than a standard 1911. It doesn’t fit quite right. Not loose enough to fall out but loose enough to where it moves around in the holster a little.
I might have to do this on my Strider fixed blade sheath after I install G-10 grips to replace the paracord handle wrap. Do any of the Seals you know use any Mick Strider knives? Good upload! Thanks.
I feel like nowadays there's so many good kydex holster makers that it's completely on you if you buy a shitty one. Do your research, buy once cry one. That being said, I dont own one of these, but I did just pick up a p365(my current carry gun is a p365xl), and thanks to this review I'm gonna try out ZZZ. Thanks for review/info.
"I don't know because I drive a minivan..." Hilarious!! I love it! Chris Thank you for all you do to teach us how to shoot like a navy SEAL. God Bless you.
I am really thinking twice to heat the holster Marty just sent me,he red flagged the gap on the bottom of the holster and see the holster you were showing on this video had a gap just as big .Right now the holster works with the Beretta 96A1 which was the intended build and the Wilson Combat 92G...same retention .

Thanks, Chris. My new Kydex is tight, I'm going to try this and see if it helps.
Instructions unclear. My wife says she doesnt want a kydex holster for her hair dryer.
I just watched this, and I used the stove on HI to re-form the tip of a G19 holster to allow my G17 to pass through. Thank you so much!!!!!
How long do you hover it over the stove ?
@@Gameboyycolor1 5-10 seconds at a time until its barely pliable. Shouldnt take more than 20 secs

I guess this technique will work too if I want to make some space for a threaded barrel at the bottom of the holster?
Mate, you're a life saver ! 👍🏻

What should I do If I dont have a plastic gun to use as model? I cant risk using my real pistol inside while heating it
Hi Chris, the video is very good. Is there a way to fit a polymer holster?

“If you’re training with someone else, you might miss” that earned my subscription sir lol
nick strengths n powers ?
Really appreciate the experience and simple guidance- worked perfectly. Thank you Navy Seals.
Thank you, Chris. One of my Kydex holster was tight, and using your video, I was able to loosen it. Now it is perfect! Easy. Thank you!

Can you do this without a gun mold? Like if you only have the real thing.
Put it in a plastic bag or similar.
Thanks. I bought a mag pouch that doesn't retain the mags. I go to take off my pants and they fall right out. I think I'll be able to fix it now.
You haven't tried a Kydex holster....particularly an AIWB holster until you've tried a Tenicor USA holster.
Thank you for this information (I was looking specifically for a method to do Micro adjustments)
Me too. 🇺🇸👊
"I dont know if this will work on another brand of kydex holster, throw it away." Then he says "this will work with all kydex"

ZZZ holsters best thing since sliced bread but they need heating and adjusting to the weapon they were made for?? Try a Raven Concealment.
I think he was showing how to fix an old holster or how to adjust a holster for personal preference.

1:05 now if you intend to shoot someb.... something, then by all means go ahead and point at it XD
i did this with a airsoft gbb 1911 and its broken now hahaha wont shoot.
So…heat it
He will throw it away? That comment right there stopped me from even considering anything of his.
That's a guy's way of promoting what he likes.
Talk about shameless plugs...................
