Not just young drummers. I’ve played drums since I was like 12-13yo. I’m now 38. I’ve played drums on and off my whole life. After finding Estepario? It’s motivated me to not just go pick up the sticks again, but to take my playing to a level I’ve never reached before. Been practicing extremely hard, and stayed dedicated to it. And if I start to lose motivation? Watch a few more Estepario vids, and motivation is back and I’m back behind the kit again. And I know I’m not the only amateur he’s motivated to pick up the sticks again. Dude is a legit inspiration to so many!

I would argue he's the greatest drummer in the world. Bonham was great in his day but nobody can touch this guy. He nails every genre. His footwork, his creativity and out of the box technique is unparallel to anyone else today.
At 53, I have played guitar for decades, played drums for fun here and there, and have been a fan of almost every musical style. I feel like I have seen some of the most amazingly skilled human beings humanity has to offer. Then, I discovered El Estepario. All I can say is that he is the complete definition of what it means to 'play in the zone' and to do so organically, creatively, and with such command that I left without words. What I love the most about watching him is that I can gain a sense of what it must feel like to play what he does....like he does. If you've played an instrument for a decent period of time, chances are you've had those rare days where you play like a machine, without error, without effort, and not wanting to stop for fear of losing that moment of sheer personal amazement. Now, imagine those rare moments multiplied by a million, and there you have El Estepario. I'm grateful that I get the privilege of seeing his genius!

His speed, yes yes we got it but his precision. His drum strikes when both sticks hit the drums on the same beat are so exact, it sounds like one stick. I love how creative he is too. A weight on a snare, a snare mounted upside down so he could stroke the snare, his infamous cow bells. What impresses me the most is his independence and this song may demonstrate that more than I've seen before. His brain(s) are playing four INDIVIDUAL instruments that are all playing the same song. His right hand did not affect the left hand or either foot. When I try to swim, when I stroke with the arms, the feet stop kicking, lol.

i know he has made v ideos stating that it is all practice but.. i have heard and seen drummers considered top in the field that have been playing for 30+ years and are still not on this guy's level his limb independence is just mind blowing as his creativity i would say he is probably to best drummer in the world right now !!!

Freak of nature. His footwork, wrist and finger control is unbelievable. I wish my drum teacher had taught me finger work when I was learning 50 years ago. It took me 35 years on my own to start really using my wrists, and I'm still not very good at it. And now I'm too lazy to sit down and do the exercises necessary to achieve it.

I don’t think any musician that sees his videos don’t instantly recognize a new level of drum genius. This isn’t to down play other insane drummers before now. And there were innovators of their times before, this guy is todays innovator. To just put this up front, his stamina is quite insane. His passion can carry him so well. He has knocked so many songs out of the park, and you can really tell he enjoys playing many of them, but this is where I’m hoping you can relate to what I’m about to say, but I feel in this song especially, he was JAMMING! He was feeling this one. You can even see in several places he is mouthing the lyrics as he plays. I play drums a little, and I think it’s plenty easy for drummers to express how much talent and experience it takes to make 4 separate parts of your body do something different, to complete a whole, and being able to sing, at the same time is even that much extra, let alone on the huge level this guy is playing. He is simply put, something special!!
