Well, in general the characters in Zelda games are more fleshed out and mature than Mario games. Mario goes for sweet and simple with interesting and zany gameplay while Zelda has more complex stories, puzzles, and tough bosses. Both are still good games though, just different genres.
i feel like with the botw one, it holds the brokenness of the current state of hyrule, but it still contains hope? it’s gentle, despite what ruin has been caused. it remembers that the champions and the king have fallen, and understands the many other lives taken by the calamity. but it still a bit happy, you know? it shows that together, zelda and link are gonna slowly rebuild hyrule now that the threat of the calamity is gone and that they’re going to succeed in reestablishing this kingdom. i dunno. that’s kinda how i interpret it? that’s really how i interpret all of the music. there is no happy outcome of what happened. this land was broken, and this music understands that. you don’t hear too much happy music in this game, yeah? just my input.

It's soft and holds a lot of emotion despite how gentle it is (sounds the most like an actual lullaby to me) plus I liked the little bit of the main theme in there with the last bit being part of the normal loz theme That or I'm just a sucker for soft piano music

Schizo Rys Skyward sword was made on the 25th anniversary of Zelda, and it came with the game disc and a golden looking one with 8 or 10 orchestrated songs and the game box isn't the usual, it's golden colored on the front with link on it. Which I have and although it isn't much it feels special.
Twilight princess is freaking magical. Like look at those graphics. Those graphics are on a freakin GameCube. Not to mention it’s literally perfect. (Still love that ocarina of time tho)

Windwaker was my first, but holy damn I sucked ass at the game when I was like 6. I never saw that scene but god I had such a fun time driving your boat everywhere. I’ve replayed and beaten it recently, and I’m so sad that I didn’t even see 50% of the game since my youth but also amazed that I could have a great ass time with it either way.

I know it's an unpopular opinion but I love the spirit tracks one, manily the ghost Zelda one. It was my first ever zelda game so it's one of my favourites. I love botw as well cuz of the piano.

What I dont understand is why people hate windwaker, phantom hourglass, and spirit tracks. They are amazing games. Sure the style can seem cartoony and might seem to ruin the serious undertones of the games, but the stories are as fleshed out as ever with memorable characters and loveable OSTs. There was always something very poignant to me about Ocarina of Time's ending scene. So much is conveyed in the simple scene of Link and Zelda meeting gaze across the courtyard with her theme playing. Link returning to his childhood in a time before all the darkness fell upon the land, and reuniting with his lost friend Zelda at the moment they first met, though she does not remember him. But he can now set things right and keep her and her kingdom from heading down the path of tragedy as it did in the original history.
The minish cap version of Zelda’s lullaby makes me tear up every time I hear it. As a kid, that was my favorite song ever. I had a save file on my minish cap game that was when you first meet Zelda and her lullaby plays. I would open that save file and put my gameboy next to me in bed and just listen to it when I went to sleep.

Rin Haruka same. While it had some really great songs, they weren't really "present" like the other Zelda games. They were quiet (hard to hear over sound effects), a bit too empty, and most of the music in the game is uninspiring/a bit generic. BUT there are a few really good gems in the midst.

Rin Haruka He means it fits the theme of the game as in the way Hyrule is in ruins. It's really fitting, and I can hear it just find. It's beautiful imo.
I don't get why people hate on Breath of the Wild's soundtrack so much! It honestly makes me sad because a lot of thought and work obviously went into it. It fits the lonely and empty feeling of Hyrule and the game in general perfectly, and on top of that the music is very calming and has THE most brilliant callbacks to previous games and Easter eggs hidden within it out of all the games thus far. It's the most well thought out soundtrack I've ever come across.
The 2-D Zeldas do indeed tend to be overlooked and underrated. A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds had some of the best themes in the series. Heck, A Link to the Past was the game where Zelda’s Lullaby made its debut, and that alone cements ALTTP’s soundtrack as legendary (no pun intended).
i'm gonna be the person and say i love all the zelda lullabies. I grew up with Link to the past and i've played most zelda games and it's just hard to pick the best. I have fond memories of all of them! Zelda is just the best franchise of them all

@@kiritsuna I know what you mean, but I think the new things added in the game destroyed much of the charme of the Zelda series and also there is really no Character in botw, that I, as the player, was somehow emotionally attached too, due to the fact that all champions already died 100 years ago and we never see Zelda until the end. That's why I think the Wii Zelda games are the peak of the series 'till now, because of the very interesting mechanics and emotional rousing storys :)
I get your point, and it does come down to personal taste in the end. For me, LoZ was never a series I played because I wanted a deep story, or because I wanted to get attached to the characters. (Although for TP, I did went into it with that in mind ). I always played them because I really liked the gameplay and ambientation each game has. Majora's for me was amazing in that aspect, even if I didn't like certain things. BotW just made me remember the first Zelda games. You were thrown into the game and then did whatever you wanted. Not really much story and just pure exploration. It wasn't made for the story, if they wanted that, they could have achieved it. Which makes me have hopes for the next game I'm not saying BotW is the best game, I thought of it more like starting again from zero? and I don't have anything to compare it to. I don't know if that makes sense. I'm still waiting to see which way they take the next LoZ game. Now that we have Zelda and Link, maybe there will be some more story and thought put into it. The first one was sort of an introduction to the new world. You got a little bit of many things that maybe will get touched more for the next game. At least that is what I would like to see. If they add a good story to a game like botw, I think it would become my favorite Zelda, and maybe one of my favorite games Those are my thoughts currently.

I played through all the Zelda games to date and this is my favorite song from them all. It holds within all the beautiful memories these games left me with. It calms my heart so much, makes me so happy. Makes me think of Zelda's sweet little face. It's really special to me. I'm really grateful for these games

Spirit Track always seems to make the music beautiful. Full of hope and beauty. Zelda’s theme in that game fits her well. How she was happy to give Link his engineer certificate to how her spirit theme showed how scared and traumatized she was. The flute shows the ties her ancestors have with the spirits of good. You can hear a bit of low instruments showing what may happen to her. When she is in spirit form, she is scared and shy. Afraid of scaring the ones she cares for. Her theme in the game really fits her for her personality!
Ocarina of Times gives me amazing nostalgia for being my favorite game of all time but TP while my least favorite Zelda is incredible and plays at such a good moment Even if it’s not been since the beginning of the series, this tune is timeless and takes EVERYONE back to some point~

I love this prologue they added in the Minish Cap. When you hear it for the first time at the beginning of the game, it unfolds on this nice friendship between Link and Zelda.
LoZ ocarina of time is my earliest memory of gaming. The entire franchise holds a special place in my heart. The games really helped me through a lot of tough times by offering an escape from reality. I would spend hours exploring dungeons, fighting monsters, and completing sidequests whenever I was down. Such good memories...
Breath of the wild was my first zelda game. And even though I'm pretty late to the party watching and listening to the old games, it just gives me chills that so much love and dedication has been put into this franchise and to know that it will eventually end is sad.

Spirit Tracks' lullaby was the first one I've heard. I remember hearing that one so many times as a kid. Spirit Tracks was my first ever Zelda game that I remember so much, so that game is instantly my favourite of all loz games.
The ds raised me better than my parents imo, with phantom hourglass, spirit tracks, wild world and ace attorney. All of theese games don't have the best graphics (ace attorney got like 382039 remakes tho lmao) and people refuse to play them because of the graphics and that hurts. All of theese games get shat on for the graphics (especially ph and st) and they are all extremely underrated. Maybe if people cared more about gameplay than graphics then all of theese games may have an actuall fan base (especially ace attorney, all the other games have big fan bases but simply choose to ignore said game where as ace attorneys fan base is really small anyways)
I love all of them pretty equally just because each one is unique in the sake that they use the music you hear throughout that certain game, like in Twilight Princess, the song sounds like there are bells playing even though all the music is made without the use of instruments. Thanks for this.

the breath of the wild one hits me right in the feels. the quiet aesthetic, the soft lighting and the music. knowing that calamity ganon is gone and the champions and the king can finally rest.
A Link between Worlds was my first Zelda Game and I was so happy that I find a wonderful game for me. I love all of the Game and its just childhood to listen to this wonderful music

There was always something very poignant to me about Ocarina of Time's ending scene. So much is conveyed in the simple scene of Link and Zelda meeting gaze across the courtyard with her theme playing. Link returning to his childhood in a time before all the darkness fell upon the land, and reuniting with his lost friend Zelda at the moment they first met, though she does not remember him. But he can now set things right and keep her and her kingdom from heading down the path of tragedy as it did in the original history.

The minish cap version of Zelda’s lullaby makes me tear up every time I hear it. As a kid, that was my favorite song ever. I had a save file on my minish cap game that was when you first meet Zelda and her lullaby plays. I would open that save file and put my gameboy next to me in bed and just listen to it when I went to sleep.

Rin Haruka same. While it had some really great songs, they weren't really "present" like the other Zelda games. They were quiet (hard to hear over sound effects), a bit too empty, and most of the music in the game is uninspiring/a bit generic. BUT there are a few really good gems in the midst.

I don't get why people hate on Breath of the Wild's soundtrack so much! It honestly makes me sad because a lot of thought and work obviously went into it.
It fits the lonely and empty feeling of Hyrule and the game in general perfectly, and on top of that the music is very calming and has THE most brilliant callbacks to previous games and Easter eggs hidden within it out of all the games thus far.
It's the most well thought out soundtrack I've ever come across.
Link Between Worlds has an incredible soundtrack, I dare say the very best in the entire series.
The 2-D Zeldas do indeed tend to be overlooked and underrated. A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds had some of the best themes in the series. Heck, A Link to the Past was the game where Zelda’s Lullaby made its debut, and that alone cements ALTTP’s soundtrack as legendary (no pun intended).

i'm gonna be the person and say i love all the zelda lullabies. I grew up with Link to the past and i've played most zelda games and it's just hard to pick the best. I have fond memories of all of them! Zelda is just the best franchise of them all

@@kiritsuna I know what you mean, but I think the new things added in the game destroyed much of the charme of the Zelda series and also there is really no Character in botw, that I, as the player, was somehow emotionally attached too, due to the fact that all champions already died 100 years ago and we never see Zelda until the end.
That's why I think the Wii Zelda games are the peak of the series 'till now, because of the very interesting mechanics and emotional rousing storys :)
I get your point, and it does come down to personal taste in the end. For me, LoZ was never a series I played because I wanted a deep story, or because I wanted to get attached to the characters. (Although for TP, I did went into it with that in mind
). I always played them because I really liked the gameplay and ambientation each game has. Majora's for me was amazing in that aspect, even if I didn't like certain things.
BotW just made me remember the first Zelda games. You were thrown into the game and then did whatever you wanted. Not really much story and just pure exploration. It wasn't made for the story, if they wanted that, they could have achieved it. Which makes me have hopes for the next game
I'm not saying BotW is the best game, I thought of it more like starting again from zero? and I don't have anything to compare it to. I don't know if that makes sense.
I'm still waiting to see which way they take the next LoZ game. Now that we have Zelda and Link, maybe there will be some more story and thought put into it. The first one was sort of an introduction to the new world. You got a little bit of many things that maybe will get touched more for the next game. At least that is what I would like to see. If they add a good story to a game like botw, I think it would become my favorite Zelda, and maybe one of my favorite games

I played through all the Zelda games to date and this is my favorite song from them all. It holds within all the beautiful memories these games left me with. It calms my heart so much, makes me so happy. Makes me think of Zelda's sweet little face. It's really special to me. I'm really grateful for these games

Spirit Track always seems to make the music beautiful. Full of hope and beauty. Zelda’s theme in that game fits her well. How she was happy to give Link his engineer certificate to how her spirit theme showed how scared and traumatized she was. The flute shows the ties her ancestors have with the spirits of good. You can hear a bit of low instruments showing what may happen to her. When she is in spirit form, she is scared and shy. Afraid of scaring the ones she cares for. Her theme in the game really fits her for her personality!

I love this prologue they added in the Minish Cap. When you hear it for the first time at the beginning of the game, it unfolds on this nice friendship between Link and Zelda.
LoZ ocarina of time is my earliest memory of gaming. The entire franchise holds a special place in my heart. The games really helped me through a lot of tough times by offering an escape from reality. I would spend hours exploring dungeons, fighting monsters, and completing sidequests whenever I was down. Such good memories...

Breath of the wild was my first zelda game. And even though I'm pretty late to the party watching and listening to the old games, it just gives me chills that so much love and dedication has been put into this franchise and to know that it will eventually end is sad.

Spirit Tracks' lullaby was the first one I've heard. I remember hearing that one so many times as a kid. Spirit Tracks was my first ever Zelda game that I remember so much, so that game is instantly my favourite of all loz games.
The ds raised me better than my parents imo, with phantom hourglass, spirit tracks, wild world and ace attorney. All of theese games don't have the best graphics (ace attorney got like 382039 remakes tho lmao) and people refuse to play them because of the graphics and that hurts. All of theese games get shat on for the graphics (especially ph and st) and they are all extremely underrated. Maybe if people cared more about gameplay than graphics then all of theese games may have an actuall fan base (especially ace attorney, all the other games have big fan bases but simply choose to ignore said game where as ace attorneys fan base is really small anyways)
And professor layton but professor laytons graphics were arguably great
I love all of them pretty equally just because each one is unique in the sake that they use the music you hear throughout that certain game, like in Twilight Princess, the song sounds like there are bells playing even though all the music is made without the use of instruments. Thanks for this.
