most interesting part of this song is when Chino comes in, the tone of the music changes to match his lyrics, and sounds very "deftonesy" Ive always wondered if this was written expecting Chino to be on the track.
It was. Randy stated that in an interview for the album. He wrote the song and Chinos voice kept going into his head during those hooks. He contacted Chino afterwards and showed him the lyrics and instrumentals and he immediately said he's down to record it. Pretty cool.

Thrir album Wrath is killer. The Passing/In Your Words is one of the best album openings out there, you gotta listen to both flow into each other for the best experience.
Walk with Me in Hell was the song that got me into them. I love it SO much that I can honestly listen to it 500 times in a row and not get a bit sick of it. But Momento Mori and Nevermore are also amazing.

Randy and Chino compliment eachother so well in this song, particularly when put up against the meaning/content of the lyrics. Randy brings the frustration and absolute rage and Chino adds the longing and unending sorrow. A powerful song indeed.

Embers was one of the first tracks on this album that really got my attention. 512 is great as well but the deeper cuts are what make this album great. Another good lamb of god track to check out is "In Your Words", the intro riff is fucking killer. Also gotta bug you again about doing more Septicflesh, you should check out their song Prototype, I think your composer brain will really enjoy it along with several of their other tracks. I've always felt that Randy Blythe, in his own way, has every bit the voice of any operatic performer at the met. This is just a different style with all the same power and range, control, and deserves the recognition. He is the OG, always copied, never bettered.

Very fun reaction, actually enjoyed the song. Wasn't so sure I would I had grown tired of lamb of God for some time except of course their earlier works, they were always top dog for a long time with me. As a huge fan of deftones also I was eager to hear Chino drop in, and your reaction said it all, change to a more ethereal vibe, perfect for the song, surprisingly enjoyed Randy's and Chino's vocals together. I had a rough time with all the vocals on this album, it took me a while to accept their fit with the songs because when this album was released it was a double CD if you bought the physical copy. The second disc was an instrumental version of the album, so all of the vocals were cut from the tracks and this was how I experienced Sturm Un Drang for several months, just the instrumental versions of the songs. Its actually amazing how you can hear the details of the riffs without Randy screaming over them lol. No hate on Randy, I love this track and especially love Chino's disturbing vocal here.

React to Daddy by Korn. I recommend the lyrics. It's a very personal song for the lead singer Jonathan as it's something he had went through as a child. The emotion he shows throughout is 100% real. I do recommend that you research the meaning of the song, if not, you can listen and find out yourself.
oh yeah 🔥 this song got me into Lamb of God cause I was huge into Deftones at the time. Randy’s voice on that chorus still sounds huge, one of his best performances imo.

Damn, you probably had an amazing time playing catchup then! Ashes of the Wake, Sacrament, and Wrath are their best albums IMO. Even As the Palaces Burn is amazing, although not the greatest production.

Being a Virginian with a connection to the community that LOG came from, this was my last favorite album from them. They've milked the groove long enough, they need to make big steps out of their comfort zone to keep up with the scene.
Up to Wrath, you could take a drive through Mechanicsville and Richmond around there and it kinda like…made sense. Like it made sense for me growing up in Central VA.
@@MrVonkliest I second this. I seriously enjoyed wrath. Everything after that sounds too similar. While I love LoG and the sound they have I too would love to see them experiment with new tunings and try some new stuff.

Count me as a listener who cannot listen to constant screaming. It has left me out of some great music, like this song and this band. When the song changed to the later part with Chino, and that wonderful outro, it was just about perfect. I could have listened to him sing over that outro riff all day. But it was a struggle for me to get to that point.
