Does this work with the bluetooth on your phone?
Does it need to be plugged in to use the cash drawer and Barcode scanner? If so, kind of a bummer as it’s mobility decreases with plugins.

Dow this sync with the squares iPad pos. I ask as we now need to reduce contact between our staff and customers. So when they want to insert pin we don’t have hand over iPad in our coffee shop
They actually did hire somebody from Apple. The person who’s in charge of square is an ex Apple employee. 🙌
How do you connect a bar code scanner to it without having to use the hub which requires electricity?
Could someone pay cash and owner still could punch in payment amount & print a receipt for him/her?
Yes, absolutely. You can also configure a cash drawer OR just use a cashbox. That's what we do.

Where you can manage all your Apps on this device also where it doesn’t kill the battery by staying on so much.
Can you use Square stand to enter orders and use the terminal to accept payments that requires a pin be entered, so you don’t have to use the stand for pin entry? In my food truck it’s impossible to move the stand to the window to let the costumer enter a pin, so i only do tap at present.
Did you ever get an answer to this by chance? I'm wondering the same for our mobile food business.
...! think you can enter the order directly from the new hand held terminal from what I understood from what he said...which is pretty awesome. That's why he said he is considering eliminating the iPad stands from all his restaurants. That's what I'm going to do when I open up soon..
@@mjmobile7 I did buy the terminal to see if it would work for me, it didn’t, so I returned it for refund. Yes you can do orders from it but not practical in a food truck to give the terminal to outside costumers as they could drop it or most of the time entering wrong pin and also get it full of germs that would come in to the truck. I ended up getting another IPad to run in parallel with square stand to show the orders and cost through the service window, and only did tap no debit with pin entry. Terminal would be great for sit down restaurants imo.

do you need the hub for Square terminal? or can it be used just with wifi on the terminal alone ?
You can use it on just WiFi. If you don't have any other peripherals, you don't need the hub.
Can we use this anywhere or in other country?
I'm still waiting for the Terminal to hit the Canadian market. Looking forward to using it for merchandise sales at conventions.
It's now available in Canada since last month (or this month). I just got one.

I'm not sure. The system has been a bit more stable. It's been a great secondary POS system for conventions. Wouldn't work in our stores do to the limited interface. Very similar to iPhone or Android.

Hopefully please train your employees on passing the terminal to the customer for Apple Pay. So many places I go to don’t properly do it and just lie and say “we don’t take that here” because they don’t know how!
Just tell them you'll pay with (contactless) card

Talks about reducing costs. Uses up nearly a foot of receipt paper. 😝
Just turn off the printer in Settings and you can just do digital receipts only

Looks beautiful, and is almost perfect for my mobile business. A shame it can't use a SIM card. Yes, I could set up a mobile hotspot on my phone, or I could take offline payments. But it would be beautiful if I could use it anywhere, without my phone without having to risk off-line transactions that could decline later. Also looks like it doesn't have Bluetooth. I don't know why I need BT on this, but like I think it would be nice lol. Also sucks it doesn't have Square Appointments built in, seems like that would be a natural thing. I know this is a POS system for processing payments, but if I could charge a client and then schedule their next detail all from the one device, that would be much more seamless.
The fact it has a printer + the price + you can do 12 $37 payments, yeah I'm going to get one for sure.
Question though, when it comes time for the customer to sign, if you turn it sideways does the screen rotate into landscape mode like on the mobile app?

@@SourStrawberrys there is a setting that you can turn offline mode on, it will still take the cards information, once you get to internet all of the transactions will go through.
@@liviamettlerhair6627 Yeah, some times Square app for phone goes offline (with bad phone connection) for the headphone jack swiper and it allows you to ring you when back online but you're taking a chance of it not going through for some reason when back online. Then you will have an entire day worth of orders that might not got through and get approved and you will have not way to contact those customer. That is why we don't like to even swipe cards when we lose connection.

He keeps on saying nice job in making the packaging.. But he doesn't even know how to open it....
If he wanted to reduce cost he would get better electronics instead of the shitty apple train. I'm not surprised if he had the apple credit card in his draw 😂
