Know that you are not alone! There are communities out there that likely share your illness. Aside from residual or untreatable symptoms, one of the hardest things is stigma, also internalized stigma. And your life is not "over", it will just be harder, and you will need to realise you may not have the capacity to do as much. But you should also gain insight, wisdom, new perspectives, compassion for yourself and others. And everything like social events etc become more precious to you so you appreciate such things much more. In my experience anyhow. Hang in there

I get it, I have been dealing with paranoia for a long time. I've been diagnosed with schizoaffective, bipolar type for almost 11 years and have been taking medication everyday, twice a day for that long as well. I am rooting for you, and I just want to let you know as a fellow person with a mental health diagnosis who deals with paranoia a lot, no one is following you or paying attention in any sort of special way. It just doesn't make sense logically, which is what I have to remind myself constantly for my own paranoid delusions. I'm just a man, and nothing more and society is peaceful and nothing bad happens for the vast majority of the time in terms of of paranoid delusions coming true. Peace out!

Commenting to tell you I am so grateful to have found your channel. When I first was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder I felt so alone in my experience and desperately wanted to find youtube videos of people sharing their experiences with schizophrenia and psychosis. Statistically, so many people deal with it but so few talk about it.
I wouldn’t wish psychosis and delusions on my worst enemy. The side effects of the medications aren’t pretty either. You’re so amazing for powering through this and sharing your experience.
If you have any advice on finding friends who understand the struggles, please share! But even so, just hearing you talk about everything you’re going through in your day to day helps me feel less alone.

I don’t have schizophrenia but I have panic attacks, OCD, depression, and anxiety. While having the panic attacks it feels like I’m going through what you’re describing some times. With feeling paranoid and how scary it is. I think you don’t forget of how bad it can feel when you aren’t in the moment but I think since it’s such an intense feeling you’re more so in survival mode and you’re mind and body are trying to cope so while you’re not in those moments and feeling better you focus on how much better you’re feeling and you start to relax and you put those intense moments to rest so that you can heal from being in such a high alert state. I hope that makes sense. Sending you positive thoughts and prayers of feeling better very soon 🙏🏻

Although I struggle with completely different mental health issues, I can relate so much to the lack of motivation of cleaning and cooking for myself. With the stress I have been under I have been eating a lot of takeout also. I usually try to journal first thing in the morning but this morning I couldn't even walk around in my room due to the mess on the floor. I decided it was a priority to be able to move around before I journaled. So I half cleaned up. I had higher expectations but halfway through I was so burnt out I gave myself permission to be happy with a half clean room. Then I made coffee and did my journaling. Doing all the simple things I need to do in a day seems almost impossible. I'm sorry you are in psychosis right now. I'm sorry it came at such a bad time when you have exams and essays to finish. I am so excited for you to go to Art school!!! That was a short-lived dream I had in high school. One of my art teachers had a lot of faith in me. Anyways I could go on and on but I won't. Sending you positive thoughts and energy that this flare doesn’t disturb your world for too long. But you are doing all the right things. By sharing all you are thinking, saying it out loud sometimes helps to gain some clarity. Also reaching out to others and letting others know and not turning inward is always a good sign. Maybe all your stressing over your tests are causing your flare? The strain on your system from the stress can set things off…just a thought. I just know the more I stress impacts my mental health, even though with a mental health condition it’s hard not to stress. Anyways…stay safe 💜

Kimberly, I just want to let you know that you are so strong for sharing and that you give a lot of people the feeling of not being alone. I felt so touched and so represented, understood and received a kind of push of inner strength in a way. Even though I am not schizophrenic I saw so much of my own struggles through you. I also experience strong episodes of psychosis with severe paranoia and loosing grip of reality. My psychotic episodes are mixed in with severe PTSD and panic disorder. I know the feeling of feeling unsafe in your own home, around loved ones, or unsafe in your own head and emotions. You articulated a lot of feelings so well with this video that I felt so connected with you I wish I could hug you and telling you and everyone else who is experiencing psychosis that they are safe, they are not crazy or wrong, they are loved and that there are people out there who understand and that there are good doctors and lots of methods to help and support so everything will get better! Living with these severe mental illnesses is exhausting at times. I have heard that there is a major reduction in psychosis with people who eat Medical Keto. I wish you would do this and record your progress to either confirm or deny this theory. It solves two problems and that is the weight gain associated with antipsychotics and reduction in medication due to the fact that the way of eating seems to reduce symptoms. Keto was originally designed in 1921 by a doctor for people who experienced seizures but has considerable other benefits for everyone.

Dear Kimberly, I am so sorry that this is happening to you..
I know how devastating it feels to have all your efforts and progress you made taken away by illness, again...
But, even if you don't think so, you are doing great! You still have that "lucid" part of your brain that knows this is a psychotic episode and it WILL pass!
I think it is very important you take as much care for yourself as you can right now.
Try to sleep and rest as much as you can, do some relaxing activities and don't beat yourself up - this is not your fault!
Also, please, seek another opinion regardin olanzapine - I am sure there are other options that can reduce your symptoms without harming your physical health.
And if you have a chance, ask for cognitive behaviour therapy - it can help you learn some techniques to better respond and deal with your symptoms.
You are a strong, smart and talented young woman and I have no doubts that you can finish that art school once you are feeling better 🙂🙂

I was not too happy about that. I wonder if there is another antipsychotic you could try once you get through this period? But definitely priority is to get better first. I just know firsthand the weight gain struggle, among all the other struggles.

I hate the meds because they make you fat. I am taking the meds for the restlessness. If I can’t sleep, long enough without the sleep psychosis might come back. Usually I need them just one week. During that week I gain 5 kg. If I cannot lose weight when not using them I am getting morbidly obese as I am getting older. Lack of sleep is number one cause causing the psychosis for me and also the sleep is the best cure for it. I had mild symptoms when young but after the ptsd it was getting worse and untolerable. Worst disease possible because of meds and obesity.☹️

Just a thought, but people are using the prescription drug Ozempic for weight loss and losing a lot of weight over a few months. It really is a drug for type 2 diabetes but a lot of women take it because they just want to lose weight fast. It seems the doctors are allowing this and writing prescriptions for them even if they aren’t diabetic. My son’s sister in law lost 60 lbs on it because she was unable to lose the weight on her own by diet alone.
