    Hey I recognize that comment ! I'm glad they are working out for you! I did replace the springs to standard weight as they were heavy duty when I bought the bike used. Thanks for the update.

      Cool I did not want to put you name out there but I thought it was good way to bring up making sure you have the right spring weight because some people don't realize there are different options.

    Thanks for the review, I have the 412s on my 15’ Road Glide and they are much better than stock. Stock is trash period. I did my fork springs and they are better. However I didn’t know there was a Mono Tube for the forks as well so I will be installing those when I upgrade the forks. However I’m with you, im much more confident in the steering capabilities and how planted the bike feels to the ground. This should have been the very first upgrade. However, for the cost of Legends and Wilbur’s, I would like to test ride those, I think this is a good ride for the cost! The complete set up is 800 dollars worth of suspension when you think about it, so it’s gonna be a lot better then stock and it won’t disappoint you!

    Your videos are helping alot .... it's sad that the shop in Rosebud is retired but totally understandable he was super close to me and I just started taking the sportster there ... now I gotta find a new shop when I can't get the jobs done that may need that confidence.... congratulations Mike Slaying the TH-cam Dragon with bad ass videos loaded with information 👏 👌 😀 🙌 👍

    One of the concerns I had when I was recently shopping for a 19/20 Street Glide Special was the need to replace the shocks. I spent half a day with a rental that I setup for my weight and that pretty much confirmed that I was going to need to update the suspension upon purchase. However while at the dealer looking and getting set to test ride two different SGS my dealer rep asked if I wanted to take out the Low Rider ST. I told them I had considered it but the two to four thousand dollar mark up was not something I wanted to deal with, but we still went for a ride.
    Night and day, out of the box it was so much better across any surface than the SGS. Plus the wind protection was as good if not better than either the SGS or RGS with the only real update needed would be the windshield. Needless to say, with a bit of haggling with the sales manager I got it down to basically msrp and doc fee equivalent which was ideal in this sales environment.
    All this is long winded way of saying, let us all hope Harley has the suspension of the upcoming new Street Glide and Road Glides sorted out so that we don't feel the need to replace the suspensions on the tour models. They should be as good if not better than the Softail models for the intended use.
    Your comment about tracking and issues in a curve were one issue I had with my 2016 SG to where I turned around and immediately went with a new 2017 RK upon their release and its suspension was so much better.

    I also have the 944s. For me and my riding style they are fine. I'm not slamming my 2020 RG into corners anytime soon. I am however thinking about the front suspension before summer. I am also lowering the bike an inch in the rear so I will go with Progressive front lowering. My shop will install them. Thanks for the information.

    I have progressive shocks on a VTX1800R. They are the 912. They work much better than the stock shocks. I am very happy with them. They were $260 for the pair. They work well when I am riding solo. Which I do most of the time. They work good when I have a passenger. It was money well spent.

    I wish that my 2016 Twin Cam was still in my collection , I made the mistake of buying a CVO and dumping to much money in the motor and my health went sideways , you made a great investment on suspension

    Hey Man Mountain Mike, I’m glad you are having good luck with your Progressive setup but I would not trade my QS3 Fox shocks. for …a barrel of Oreos. We appreciate the follow up on your installation results.
    I know, the Fox setup was just outside your set budget but for those of you who are considering Fox, I am far more satisfied with this setup than the unreliable Legend air ride I put on the Heritage.
    That’s all I got for y’all today. I’m out for now. Y’all peace out.

      I hear nothing but great stuff about Fox, I want to do the Dyna this winter but not sure where I am going to go with it... I am not looking to do stunting but I want it to handle like it is on rails....

    Hey Mike, like you, I upgraded at around 50k. I’m at 72k now, still very happy with the legends front and rear. The ole scooter handles great. Also replaced the trailing arm bushings when I rebuilt the motor. That made a difference. If weather cooperates, looking to go up to lake for demo day’s Saturday.

    Question if you don’t mind. What would you recommend if we ride two up and I ride alone? Is there a shock you recommend that would cover both weights accurately?

    • @RidingintheOzarks
      @RidingintheOzarks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would recommend reaching out to the different companies. Progressive was supper helpful for me. We discussed riding solo vs 2 up and weights. They may have a different shock with a more broad range for weight. Sorry can't be more helpful but there is a lot of options out there with different spring rates. I just emailed progressive and they were very responsive to make sure i got the right shock for my needs.

    I've had my 944's since 2019. Just yesterday i noticed some oil dripping out of the right shock. Gonna call them up tomorrow and we'll see how good that "lifetime" warranty really is.

    How come, you did not go with cartridge front suspension ? those shocks you have in the back lower an inch so you should have lowered the front with a progressive cartridge, lowering lowered the front and inch.

    • @RidingintheOzarks
      @RidingintheOzarks  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The progressive it a cartridge on one side in the front and I did not lower the bike, these are the same height as my factory suspension because I have a Special which uses the shorter shock from the factory.
