Probably new speedometer. I also bought a white 1.8 with "engine failure" for 150€, turns out chassis is nearly perfect rust free and engine works fine. It will get a TDI swap anyway. The speedometer shows 31.000km and it actually has more than 180.000km which still is not much for that engine

It would be terrible to waste a Passat chassis in rare good original condition, no welding done whatsoever, so i will get it on the street again, with a even better engine

It's just sad seeing that some people just abandon these cars and just leave them to rot away in a backyard... these Passats getting really rare in Germany nowadays...
