This man plays with love. Watching him play is like walking through a park and seeing a father throwing a baseball with his son. You're not quite sure why it makes you feel good on the inside, but it does. When somebody is doing what they truly love, it somehow leaks into the air and become contagious to the point where you can't help but smile and feel what they are feeling in that moment.

What kind of non-appreciating music, drumming, A7V person can give this video a thumbs down? Cobus is one of the best drummers (COVER AND ORIGINAL MATERIAL) that I've heard EVER. I've been listening for several years. I even have a set of signed sticks that he gave away about 9 years ago and I keep them prestine because I'm not worthy of playing drums with them!

Man, this gives me nostalgic feeling. In my highschool days I always watch your videos in the computer hubs to copy(learnt) your approach per cover. No joke, Jimmy Sullivan and Joey Jordison were the two drummers who got me interested in drumming, but your cover of this exact song was what pushed me over the edge to the point where I decided to start playing myself all those years ago. I'm proud to say you've been one of my biggest inspirations, and you still are to this day. The recent news of Joey passing threw me into a tailspin, realizing that two of the three people I admire the most in this regard are gone now, but this video, revisiting the song, brought me some genuine joy. Great job, thank you Cobus for everything you've done for the whole community. ♥

I can't believe it's been 12 years. I actually downloaded your first cover of Afterlife and converted it to mp3 and always rocked out to it while commuting. that build up and pause always brought a smile to my face.
Wow my first introduction to Cobus was Afterlife and i fell in love, and now many years later i got back into Avenge Sevenfold and wanted to listen to Cobus cover of the song and to find out hes done a more recent cover makes me so happy, Hes bloody amazing.

You were and still are one of the biggest influences on my drumming to this day. If I'm not dropping a stank face, I know I'm not doing it right! Seeing you progress from that church hall, to backing the project that ended up as Ventura Lights, to being able to chat to you on hangouts for a bit, to you playing with Busted... It's a crazy ride and for some reason feel proud of you!

At that time I always played and replayed cover videos of MJ songs that you made such as black or white and bad, or some covers of A7x songs, and kings and queens from 30 seconds to mars.
