I’m so happy to have found a nicer corner of the Star Wars community! The constant vitriol and bigotry that followed the sequel trilogy almost killed my interest in the SW universe, and y’all revived it! There’s so much good stuff to enjoy now, and it’s crazy that 3 unremarkable movies and some trolls almost made me miss it
Also I think it's not fair to call all of the sequels midling. I think TFA is some of JJs best work, and Rian Johnson literally does not make bad films. RoS was kinda bad, but 2 of 3 is pretty good for a trilogy
I love some positivity in the Fandom. I can understand not liking things but I hate the ones that make me feel stupid for daring to like anything at all.
This channel is a great place. So many of the toxic fanbase online just purposely misremebers so much of the series just to hate other aspects. Alex and Molly are my favs in the community
@@trombonegamer14I definitely really enjoyed watching VII & VII in the theatre. Even if they’re not my favourite there’s no reason to complain because they’re definitely someone else’s favourites, and that’s the beauty of art!
Regarding the Mando movie, each episode feels like a movie already. They put so much into the production and performances that this is just going to be Mando and Grogu on a big screen. It's not a bad thing, and I think it speaks to the quality of the streaming shows they make.
I would open up the movie the same way they opened up the first episode of The Mandalorian. Din and Grogu are in the middle of a bounty but instead of capturing a criminal they're hunting some Imperial Remnant and they bring him in to Carson Teva and he then explains the main villain of the movie. That was the perfect introduction that doesn't require any additional explanation and tells new people what they need to know.
It’s getting close to 10 years together with you guys and I really love seeing how far you’ve come and how the channels grown. Here’s to ten more, celebrating stories we love!
Opening Crawl will be an easy way to set up the film. Something along the lines of... The Empire is gone, and the New Republic is trying to bring the Galaxy together again. The Mandalorians have retaken their homeworld from the a faction of the Imperial Remnant after losing their home to the Empire after the Clone Wars. A Mandalorian Bounty Hunter named Din had taken former Jedi Youngling Grogu, a survivor of the Great Purge, as his apprentice and is tasked by his Tribe to initiate Grogu in the the Mandalorian Way
My prediction is that the mando/grogu movie is going to be a mostly self-contained movie, but something in it, maybe the villain or ending is going to directly set up the dave filoni mandoverse movie.
I think you’re right, I think the connection at the end is Mando will get a call from Carson Teva with something to the effect of “we need your help with a guy named Thrawn”
I feel like the Mando movie is going to be a standalone story that doesn't necessarily touch on the larger story. You don't have to deal with the "baggage" of the rest of the story for general audiences who might not have seen any or all of the series. Just an adventure for the two. Maybe against pirates. Or set up a syndicate boss as the antagonist.
Thanks for your channel! It’s so refreshing to see people building on what Star Wars is today rather than constantly spit on the creatives/Disney leadership or constantly talk about the Legends days as if nothing new was good! Keep up the good work! 👍
I like the format...taking few questions when their is bigger news to talk about is good. In the quieter news weeks, the traditional format is good...maybe withe some themed weeks

I don’t think they were ready to announce this one at Celebration because it wasn’t far enough along, and then the strikes happened. But I don’t think they just invented it from whole cloth during the kerfuffle this last week… it’s absurd that people would even think that. Everything we hear about has been in the works for a long time already. Watching chapter 23 of The Mandalorian at Star Wars Celebration was a magical experience. 5000 of us cheering, and laughing at being on the edge of our seats was such a cool way to watch. Dave and John must have had a positive reaction to that as they were presumably backstage and would have seen our reaction. Maybe that and other factors contributed to green-lighting the movie. I loved season 3 and it wrapped up everything and set up perfectly for a one-off movie. Q&A: Will Grogu die in the Mandalorian Movie before Season 4? That would probably be a huge shock which they won't do, but it could lead to a more broken Din to follow in Seasons 4 and 5, forcing him to make a choice on whether to put his own conscience over the code. I don't care when it happens but it's time for Ezra Bridger Certified Chaos, imagine him meeting Peli????? I can see him offering an alternative to the way Luke trained also because having a father figure helped Ezra become a better Jedi, so the same can be true for Grogu. If the budget is relatively “low”, the movie could turn a profit by the next weekend. To return to theaters with a smaller-budget Star Wars movie feels so silly?! 6-7 years after the last space opera and we might get a volume low-stakes story. I’m extremely nervous. The only wrap-up movie for a TV series that I can remember from back when I was a kid was Galactica 1980 which wasn’t that great Have Din/Grogu work together with Hera and the Ghost running some op for Senator Organa (then 3PO& Mon Mothma can make an appearance ) It really reminds me of anime movies' politics. Like for example naruto movies are basically side stories, not tied to the main plot. But yeah, I also doubt that this movie will not feel as big as the show I heard a rumor this morning saying that s4 will be 6 episodes with the movie filling in the last two episodes. (not sure where Meg I think) Love The Empire Strips Back!!! Great show! 24:21 Didn’t we learn that Children of the Watch can remove their helmets in front of their immediate family? The movie can be considered a season 3.5 for some. Dead Like Me was an amazing show that was kinda got a wrap-up movie (but it paled in quality to the series) Hi, Pippin (and Heelo)! Loved the Pippin guest-starring role! Q&A: Do you think The Mandalorian & Grogu movie is going to take place after Season 4 in the timeline or might take place after Season 3 and Season 4 might take place after the movie?
The best part about this show is slowly watching the collectibles build in the background. I look forward to seeing the collection continue until they are slowly consumed by their own merch as if in the stomach of the scarlacc.
5:25 those hot toys models, figurines and statues are seriously expensive but also seriously high quality! Got a darth maul statue (its about 1.5' tall!) To make an overly specific prediction, my guess is the villain of The Mandalorian and Grogu will be an Imperial Remnant Moff who is a Mandalorian. They will be under Thrawn's command (who could appear in a similar role to the Emperor in episode V) and will be connected in some way to the Mandalorian purge
I'm not against a Mandalorian & Grogu movie(even though I also don't think we need it), but I feel like they are missing on a great opportunity by not releasing the "Dawn of the Jedi" as the first movie after so many years without a SW movie. I thnk it would make so much sense to go back to the "beggining of everything" and release an epic and "fresh" SW movie. And it would be also perfect to "travel" to the other end of the timeline afterwards and continue with Rey's story. I feel like the Mandoverse should stick with the streaming honestly
Favreau have said things that sounded like there would be something with Luke and Grogu, maybe a series or part of one. But it got changed in BoBF, hopfully he can put together what we have into something of his plans
I say roll the dice and release it on May 2nd, 2025. I understand the logic of Mando S4 being more self contained but even if it's not the focus I still won't be surprised if Thrawn's presence is felt in some way, like I feel like the set up could be "they're hunting down warlords, but suddenly this one has reemerged and throwing everything into disarray". Could also potentially leave a bit of breathing room for the Filoni movie. Also, Ezra and Hera are in New Republic stuff, so they could be around (imagine Ezra and Grogu together lol). I will say I'm not hitching my bets onto anything, I'm just saying that with the larger Mandoverse project I could see this potentially happening.
Let’s assume for a second the Mando movie was always part of the plan: During celebration we didn’t even have episode 7 yet of Mando Season 3. They screened it there at celebration. So I think if it was part of the plan they didn’t want to announce a movie while season 3 was still airing especially since season 3 had an almost series finale style ending. Just throwing that thought out there I have no idea what the plan was
This could be the introduction of these characters for a lot of non disney plus star wars fans. This would make both people that have been with these characters and people that are new to them with this movie more interested in the Dave Filoni movie. Personally, I watch everything but thats not the case for everyone. I am already pumped for the Filoni movie.
Seems like a bit of a desperation move to make this into a movie when they already announced a Filoniverse movie at Celebration, but I’m willing to wait and see how this Mandalorian movie takes shape.
A opening crawl would help explain the Mando and Grogu tale to new viewers. But Im thinking Mando have the characters from Rebels and Skywalker. So many great possibilities. Din Djarin as a kid before becoming a foundling and meeting Yoda or Grogu with Kelleran Beq perhaps.
It really reminds of anime movies politics. Like for example naruto movies are basically side stories, not tied to the main plot. But yeah, I also doubt that this movie will not feel that big like the show
Initially I was negative about the news. I felt it was a panic reaction to Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy's comments. Since her Rey movie and the way she will promote it is likely to be very polarizing within the fanbase. I felt they wanted the first star wars film since 2019 to have popular characters and an experienced director. But Mandalorian season 3 had structural issues. So it may be good to go back to basics and have a complete self contained adventure focused on those two characters. Rather than world building for other shows. Or them struggling to tell a serialised story over 8 episodes.
Does a people disappear if the planet does? She wasnt the only on not on planet. The Galaxy is filled with multiple people's working on planets, not their home planet. The destruction of a homeworld should not negate representation in the Galactic Republic
@@marjoe32 it kind of does, doesn’t it? A senator (like in the real world), represents the constituents of their territory (planet, state, whatever). If that territory ceases to exist and all of its residents except for the senator die, then that senator has nowhere and no one to represent. Then what about all of the expats living on other worlds? They are already being represented by whichever planet they live on and might obtain refugee status there. If some residents of alderaan were on vacation or working in space or another planet, then they would likely find refugee status on other planets. On top of that, the senate was dissolved in ANH, and the new republican wasn’t founded for another 5 years. So any survivors would have likely found other homes during that period. Just my thoughts, maybe it was discussed in a book or a comic :-)
The only real factors that would've mattered were: 1) What Jon & Dave wanted to do, and 2) The performance of Season 3 (as well as the series as a whole) and Season 3 was incredibly successful. Just in case you missed it, this was the big headline from 2 weeks ago --- 'The Mandalorian' Tops List of the Most-Watched Streaming Originals in 2023 (Yahoo/The Wrap) The turnout for Ep. 5 of 'Ahsoka' wouldn't have really influenced or played a role in the decision making process for 2 main reasons: 1) It was only in 10 cities with 1 showing each, so tickets were very, VERY limited [averaging out to approx. 1,500 seats/tickets total], and 2) [more importantly] The tickets were FREE - so the spots filled up almost instantly (which would have happened with any other piece of content)
Q&A An idea for the post credit scene of the mando movie is Mandalore and Nevaro getting completely obliterated with Bo and the mandos dead and greef dead as a im back moment for Thrawn and the new republic finally realise that Thrawn is a huge threat
I really don't see the point in doing that. The planets already dead and it would take years for Bo to rebuild so she wouldn't be enthused with doing anything outside of Mandalore for a while.
I’d rather not see Hondo on the big screen. He’s one character I can do without. I know he’s the Han Solo type and his allegiances are to the highest bidder, but no….hard no. Leave him at Smuggler’s Run.

Hi Pippin (and Heelo)! Loved the Pippin guest-starring role!
Id love a real hourlong podcast with you guys so much. Alex could teach Molly (and the audience) about some of the more obscure legends stuff
18:55 Yes, Mollie, I suspect you’re right.
Watching chapter 23 of the mandalorian at starwars celebration was a magical experience. 5000 of us cheering, laughing at being on the edge of our seats was such a cool way to watch. Dave and John must have had a positive reaction to that as they were presumably back stage amd would have seen our reaction.
Maybe that and other factors contributed to green lighting the movie.
I loved season 3 and it wrapped up everything and sets up perfectly for a one off movie.
If Pedro has to do press for a movie he’s not even in unmasked that would be insane
“He loves that baby!” 😂😂😂
23:50 as someone formaly extremely religious, i get Din. After developing my own ideas on life and religious i find it hard to consciously allow myself to do things they were previously banned. Its not easy to overcome indoctrination! Lets lets Din Jarin grow at his own pace
To make an overly specific prediction, my guess is the villain of The Mandalorian and Grogu will be an Imperial Remnant Moff who is a Mandalorian. They will be under Thrawn's command (who could appear in a similar role to the Emperor in episode V) and will be connected in some way to the Mandalorian purge
Do we know much about the Yoda species? Grogu exploring that with Mando could be a movie.
"Who are these bozos?"😂
very refreshing content
24:21 Didn’t we learn that Children of the Watch can remove their helmets in front of immediate family?
I heard a rumor this morning saying that s4 will be 6 episodes with the movie filling in the last two episodes. (not sure where, Meg I think)
The original person who said it says it's a possibility not that it is definitely happening.
@@mightheal Yup, that's why I called it a rumor ;)
I'm not against a Mandalorian & Grogu movie(even though I also don't think we need it), but I feel like they are missing on a great opportunity by not releasing the "Dawn of the Jedi" as the first movie after so many years without a SW movie. I thnk it would make so much sense to go back to the "beggining of everything" and release an epic and "fresh" SW movie. And it would be also perfect to "travel" to the other end of the timeline afterwards and continue with Rey's story. I feel like the Mandoverse should stick with the streaming honestly
I’m a fan of this new format
Have Din/Grogu work together with Hera and the Ghost running some op for Senator Organa (then 3PO& Mon Mothma can make an appearance )
Favreau have said things that sounded like there would be something with Luke and Grogu, maybe a series or part of one. But it got changed in BoBF, hopfully he can put together what we have into something of his plans
You just earnead a new Felt Doll my friends! Little Cobb Vanth is on the way! See you next SWC (on USA LOL)🎉🎉🎉
😍

CAT!!!
I could totally see Ezra being involved in some of Grogu's training. They both don't use lightsabers
Q&A do you think we could get a live action appearance of Captain Korda from the Wild Space books as we know he survives into the new republic era
Give 👏 Pippin 👏 a 👏 microphone 👏
I say roll the dice and release it on May 2nd, 2025. That way, when practically the whole country is off of work and school on Sunday, May 4th, legions of fans of all ages can ride to movies and watch brand new content on the big screen on Star Wars Day.
You don’t have to compete with Avatar and you also don’t have to compete with the NFL or College Football.
Give it a shot. If the budget is relatively “low”, the movie could turn a profit by the next weekend.
Let’s assume for a second the Mando movie was always part of the plan:
During celebration we didn’t even have episode 7 yet of Mando Season 3. They screened it there at celebration. So I think if it was part of the plan they didn’t want to announce a movie while season 3 was still airing especially since season 3 had an almost series finale style ending.
Just throwing that thought out there I have no idea what the plan was
Who is your favorite character in For All Mankind? I think mine is Gordo despite his flaws. Thanks for the recommendation.
_Baby’s day out_ but where Grogu has absconded with Din’s helmet
The movie can be considered a season 3.5 for some.
I hope we see Robo Vanth lol. Dead or alive your coming with me lol!!!!
The only wrap up movie for a tv series that I can remember from back when I was a kid was _Galactica 1980_ which wasn’t that great
A opening crawl would help explain the Mando and Grogu tale to new viewers.
But yeah, I also doubt that this movie will not feel that big like the show
Grogu will utter his first word?
Also one question…do you think the High Republic series will somehow tie up to the Skywalker saga at some point?
Q/A Will we ever get the rest of Din's backstory? Could it tie into season 4 or the movie in some way
Molie is so attractive this year too.
Film the move so if mollie drops a lego set, you can monetize it.
First turn pippin isn’t trying to show that thang
I see this movie being a pleasing summer blockbuster where zero research is needed for new viewers with Easter eggs for the TV watchers
hondo and nightsisters need to be in the movie!
I feel like they made this a movie cause it's the only way they could get Pedro back
Welcome to Hot Toys!!! You won't stop at one figure!
Who you guys think would be a good replacement to Ray Stevenson in the 2nd season?
I feel like the Mando movie could be released around American Thanksgiving 2025 if Disney doesn't want to compete with itself (Avatar).
Q&A: In Ahsoka, who was Leia a Senator for/of?
Could be an honorary title. Like how former US presidents are still called President So-and-so.
I thought Alex said in an earlier video that she was the senator for the Alderaan sector. There must be other planets nearby that were unaffected.
I wonder how many people went to see episode 5 of Ashoka in the theater. That might have had an influence on the Mandalorian movie being made.
The only real factors that would've mattered were:
1) What Jon & Dave wanted to do, and
2) The performance of Season 3 (as well as the series as a whole) and Season 3 was incredibly successful. Just in case you missed it, this was the big headline from 2 weeks ago --- 'The Mandalorian' Tops List of the Most-Watched Streaming Originals in 2023 (Yahoo/The Wrap)
The turnout for Ep. 5 of 'Ahsoka' wouldn't have really influenced or played a role in the decision making process for 2 main reasons:
1) It was only in 10 cities with 1 showing each, so tickets were very, VERY limited [averaging out to approx. 1,500 seats/tickets total], and
2) [more importantly] The tickets were FREE - so the spots filled up almost instantly (which would have happened with any other piece of content)
Do you think we will see anti-clones in the bad batch season 3?
Didn't they already specifically say it will include ashoka and mandalorian characters
What happened to your annual canon timeline video?
It comes out every May 4.
I’m hearing complaints that The Mandalorian movie will film on the volume but would people even complain if we didn’t know what it was?
I’d rather not see Hondo on the big screen. He’s one character I can do without. I know he’s the Han Solo type and his allegiances are to the highest bidder, but no….hard no. Leave him at Smuggler’s Run.
Solo was lower stakes and it was a fun ride
