Absolutely. Hell of a player. One of the simply more absurd things that he never got to a Major final. Let alone win a Major. He had to play prime fed at Majors endlessly QF and SF... by miles and miles best player to never reach a major final imo. Top tier guy, top 5 for half a decade
Who can beat Federer and then Nadal back to back in this era? - No-one..... but Davydenko. Poor Nadal he must have though he would get Daydenko after so many hard court loses. How does he do it? Forehand down the line on the rise (so dangerous for most players!), solid backhand into Nadal's forehand or backhand and most importantly- great depth even when on full stretch (for topspin anyway). The depth neutralises Nadal's attack. His speed gets him back in so many rallies.
davydenko so incredible player, hitting the ball so fucking EARLY! his level really dropped at the end of his career, but he really used to be a very very good player. He just needed a bit more power in his shots and he could have easily won a grand slam
Davydenko surpassed Ferrer in every aspect. Ferrer never beat Federer or had the head to head positive against Nadal. Ferrer never won the Masters Cup as the russian did. He was not only a "wall", but he was very offensive too, unlike Ferrer. To top it all Davydenko 4 Ferrer 2 in the h2h
solomon visigoth you know what dude ? that's the question I've always wondered about nadal... Why does nadal is able to hit flatter and deeper for a couple a month and then go back to his old spin short shots in the square ? that's something I've never really understood... if you look at his matches since he's been back he got crushed by guys he used to beat mainly because of his lack of depth.

Hmmmm. So many of rafa's wrong footing attempts failed. And playing DTL forehands at the wrong times- that's not very like him. Oh wells, doesn't happen too often. He seems to have upgraded the DTL FH since then.
Roddick is 3-7 against Rafa , 😆 And, don't let Dustin Brown coach anyone, because he himself doesn't know what he does, Brown's student must be a serve n Volleyer, else He'd not allow to be his student 😆
Davydenko's never got the respect he deserved. Wonderful clean hitting , jesus!!
mostly cuz he came across peak Fed whenever he had a chance to win a major
he is agassi reincarnated
This guy was a machine...incredible! Powershots, accuracy, great FH & BH, solid service and amazing footwork.
Injuries killed his career

Davydenko is an animal...inspiring!
Davydenko one of the few players to hold a winning record over Nadal. Nadal clearly scared of Davydenko here.
1:3 in third set to Nadal and 30:40, at this moment who would guess Davydenko would win this match?! He proved he had balls.
Both players hitting so cleanly and so deep, Davy changes it up in sets 2 and 3 coming into the net and the volleys were on point....
LEZIONE DI TENNIS A QUEL LUDRO DI NADAL. GRANDE MAGNIFICO DAVYDENKO
Davydenko was like "Bageled in first? Then matchpoints? Nah, I don't give a shit, still gonna win this."
nadal won 16 total games, davydenko only 13... yet davydenko still wins :O
Some games and points are more important than others

He was" the wall" before David Ferrer... both amazing players.
A much more interesting to watch than Ferrer though.
much better offensively on the backhand side

Nadal was the Davydenko's child. One of the best and underated player.
Such a deadly player Davy was
this is so lame, rafa got match point... damn it!!!
what happened in the match point ?????
He deserved this one. He went the extra mile alright !
Does anyone else think Nadal hits harder then than now?

Como a nadal Davidenko le exigía mucho más que a federer y Djoko por el estilo de juego
3:40, gran golpe de Nadal
Saved 2 mp to win
2009 not 2010
No, it's 2010. Nadal lost to Monfils in 2009.

TheSelfishbrat blah blah blah ,davydenko is a much better player than Nadal outside clay . Nadal was davy's bitch on hard court
@@gherbihicham8506 Nothing changes the fact he owned Nadal on hard courts, kek.
Djokovic should look at this match and take notes on how to beat Nadal on hard court.
He probably has many many times
He is now on 19:0 sets winning streak against Nadal on hardcourts so maybe he DID look at that match ;)
yeah, you tell him!! Djokovic has like 19 - 7 record against rafa on hc, mayb you could give him some free instructions on how to beat him pal
@@zarkoostojic9063 1-2 at US Open
@@guineapig55555 They didn't meet since 2013 in a match at US Open. That's why head to head statistics is so misleading.
He must teach Federer how to win Nadal. I just know him and Brown that have more victory than losses to Nadal.
+Hanny Braga You forget Djokovic.
Raul HRasmussen he forgot Roddick too
