Use Rewards of Treachery to get a Conteker terminator squad. You don't have Sevatar or Kruze so they can be your HQ. Take 10 of them for a 20 wound warlord. Toss them in a spartan, when they get out the do a decent impression of a Salamander with 10 heavy flamers.
I have absolutely picked my HH army when I start it, these rules are a breath of fresh air compared to 40k. I genuinely wish 40k 9th CSM had these kind of fun rules.
I been struggling to find a Legion for Horus Hersey and haven't touched my box in fear I would be disappointed. But 3 mins into this video, boom, Alpha Legion it will be.
Akhelian Green over Stormhost Silver is my go-to for painting up my Alpha Legion, with thinned Warp Lighting put on some edge pieces or in pauldron recesses. Airbrushing this can absolutely work in painting vehicles, but it's a little tricky cause of how dark it gets if you accidentally over spray an area. Just take it slow and go area by area
Greenstuff World's Colourshift Storm Surge is far better for Alpha Legion - you now have a legion that actually shifts in colour depending on the angle you look at them!
Picked up the Age of Darkness box and Liber Hereticus book to start an Alpha Legion army. This will be my first "big warhammer" game, I've done Kill Team for the last 8 months or so and quite enjoy it.

Also, rules wise absolutely love that they made a single Rewards of Treason unit easier to access but also improved Coils of the Hydra to the point of being viable and as 'fluffy' as it should have been previously.
When they announced the Khan's mini, they said this was the last Primarch who didn't have a mini. This is a lie. I'm hoping they release Omegon's model (who may or may not be the actual Alpharius).

We are legion. I love the alpha legion they are just so dang interesting and my head cannon they are so confused that most are just doing as they do. I think omegon is loyalist and alpharius is heretic with good intentions
What are you talking about, of course you have an Alpharius - your entire army is nothing but Alpharius minis! 😜 Personally, I’d do Alpha Legion using colourshift paints that you can get these days; fairly sure Greenstuff World do a Blue-Green one which would be perfect for Heresy era Alphas (and they do a purple-green one if anyone wants the same effect on a post-Heresy army).
Yes, they are MUCH cheaper than they used to be in the Last Edition. You're saving 50pts on them for the base Squad, their Ammo now finally has normal Rending rather than only AP3 and Power Daggers got an amazing buff (especially on 10 Men Headhuntersquad who make 31 Attacks at Ini5 with them if they charge!). In my Opinion, if you don't own too many vehicles for your Alpha Legion, going for the Headhunter Leviathal RoW is the best Way to get the most out of your Alpha Legion.
@@ucc3rd Yeah I was super happy aswell, when I saw their leaked profiles. Finally they are the better option for Alpha Legion Players in comparison to the Legion Seekers.
What about the daggers losing Specialist Weapon? I was originally tempted to put a powerfist on the prime but now I'm thinking a sword or inferno pistol would be better. Any thoughts?
@@jamescollinge5043 I would just let him use the Dagger. The Headhunter Prime does up to 4 Attacks with it (2 Base + 1 for 2CCW + 1 for charging). With Sudden Strike he does these at Ini5 if he charged, and any of these attacks that wound the opponent (S3 vs average T4 means he is only wounding on a 5+) automatically triggers the Breaching Ability meaning that the Wound is with AP2 effectivly killing Artificer Armour Sergeants.

They’re tricky, but they can’t do anything as well as other legions. Harsh and immediate strikes on parts of armies work though

My biggest question is are headhunters better in this edition? I was always told that legion seekers were just flat out better in the last edition.
