Most likely there’s a school bus driver shortage, there’s a nationwide shortage of them, meaning there don’t have enough drivers to cover every route, meaning some drivers are having to double routes meaning doing their own, plus picking kids up from a different route that doesn’t have a driver, or if they don’t have room they have to unload at the school first then go back route to cover another one or so routes. Not many people are applying for this job anymore so not much can be done sooner if nobody is going to apply for the job and do the training required.
