Ari's bus hasn't shown up at all for two mornings. His afternoon bus was two hours late Monday so she picked him up. We waited with her Tuesday to see what would happen.
I had school bus issues in Houston Texas and alot of the teachers wouldn't take it seriously at all. They refused to fix the issue when my mom contacted the bus barn more than once. I told my mom and dad there needs to be laws against stranding people when they have to picked up, but they don't care and I don't know why.
Because of money honey. Fixing costs money, funding for schools is almost entirely reliant on property taxes (and indirectly, property values) so the district in question might not even have the money to change things, sadly enough.

@Cyndi Rothrock I had to start taking Metro to school. The school district also doesn't understand they need to serve other food during the summer and not just all they have. Alot of the food at summer school at Welch was really horrible and it was all they had, I had to go without my lunch most of the time there because that stupid letter stated breakfast and lunch would be provided. That also needs to be against the law. The horrible food needs to be thrown away.
sounds like a third party bus company like first student. not only do i question the drivers' qualifications, but also the maintenance of the buses, and if they even have a proper dispatch. you look at these videos long enough and you see the pattern of these bus companies failing at their jobs, and more often than not they drive to private schools.
Here’s an idea: Get rid of the people who obviously do NOT know where to go and replace them with those who do. That way, there will be no aggravated parents.
This reminds me one time when I was in high school where the bus didnt show up one time and when it finally showed up there was ONLY 10 minutes left of first period trust me I kind of know how u feel also they did not call to tell us what was going on.
@@jcheck1107 Do you know how much money it cost to raise a special needs child?? Thousands!!! Why do you think so many disabled parents who don't work go into debt?? Insurance companies don't wanna pay for what a special needs child needs!! Some special needs parents can't home school their child because they have to work!!!
@Carlos Spiceywhiener you don't know the traffic situation in SD to comment on, do you? we have routes we have to follow and it is what it is. it's not always possible to request for changes in the route. think before you spout off.
@Cyndi Rothrock my routes aren't written to accommodate for any traffic or side issues. i have one route that, on paper, begins three minutes *before* my previous route ends. now, i have to disinfect the entire bus between each school run. there's nothing you can do about it, you just have to bust ass getting from point A to point B, hope you don't get caught by too many lights and the kids are ready to go when you get there. i'm always late, there's nothing i can do about it, and that's even picking up my first kid at the earliest allowable time (five minutes early). then again, i have to go ten miles out of my way to pick up a single kid. it is what it is. the kids adjust with me, but i'm never excessively late unless i get stopped by a train, then i call that in.
@Cyndi Rothrock that would be a great thing, but transportation doesn't control when the schools start, and when you're understaffed as it is, you have to make due with what you have. the route i've been driving since one driver quit is in the suburbs. there are a lot of alternate routes, but none that are shorter than the ones we have. i have one run where i can pull over, relax, disinfect at my leisure, but that's not the norm.

He said he waited for his bus for an hour and it never came, so his parents drove him to school and he got there late because he had waited so long for the bus. A half-hour after receiving his detention slip, the bus arrived at the school, and an announcement came on that all students on that bus were excused because the bus had gotten stuck halfway through its route. The student whose parents had driven him to school tried to return the detention slip and cancel it, and they wouldn't let him. Even though he was late for the exact same reason as the other students, he didn't actually rise the bus and it therefore didn't count for being excused. What a load of crap.
When I was kid we wanted to go to school. We did not have the luxury of some type of public transportation to give us a ride. Especially an indirectly paid free ride. I walked to school ten miles. In the snow. Every day. Uphill both ways and I liked. I loved it. And back then school was only out on Sundays.

If you have an issue with the school bus drivers, then drive your kids to school and pick them up!!! You are responsible for your kids, not the school system!!
Not all parents have the time to drop their kids off at school then drive to work every day, my mom doesn't. She has to be at her work at 7:00am at the most everyday and she needs to make money for my family. Respect the parents more, ok? This is the only way they can get their kids to school and it's the bus drivers fault for not showing up, not the parents fault. And yes, they should be blaming the school system for letting this happen for 2 WHOLE DAYS.

school buses are a privilege, not a right and not a law in most places. it's ultimately the parents' responsibility to get their kid to school. it's simply not a public school's problem concerning your work schedule. that sounds harsh, but that's the way it is.
if School Bus Transportation Alex INC. existed, they would've gotten 2 Calls in a Row about it and that company would've sent out IC CE 200 with VT365s that have black window posts and Window Tints, and it would've even had air conditioning and LEDs. and it would've been seen 2 days in a Row
First day in school I tell the bus driver to remember me home then for 3 days in a row he didn't come
if you're not on his route sheet that's probably why. if you're on his route sheet, there's really no excuse.

If the bus is 15 or 20min late, you are allowed to go back home (without considering it an absense) for most schools in florida.

In 8th grade we got 2 brand new drivers in a width of 3 months. They were never late.
