Okay, we all know how awesome Stevie Wonder is, so can we just take a second to appreciate how incredible that trumpet player is? I was not aware fingers could move that fast.
you may already know this; in the actual released cut, Stevie plays the drums himself, something he did often - almost every song on his seminl album 'songs in the key of life' is him on drums and assorted instruments

Stevie Wonder is an inspiration. I listen to sub-genres of metal, rock and punk. But as a musician I can honestly say this man is an inspiration. Coming from the man himself "Music is a word within itself, in a language we all understand".
Good Lord.... So good...it makes my head spin. The horns coupled with the vocal melody and the riff...so intricate. Hard to imagine a sequence of sounds can be so pleasing and satisfying to the soul. What can you say about this.....one of the greatest artistic contributions to the world.
Despite having a disability, he continued his life and career like it was nothing. This video demonstrates the passion he had playing his own music, what a character!!! :)
I know what it is like to see blurry because everyone thought it was in my mind that I needed glasses. Having a vision problems is harder than you think if you can read this or see twenty feet away without seeing blurry. People, psychology is messed up. Like to me it is weird like superstitions.
Drummer, high as a kite, Trumpet player top notch, session players Brilliant. And there are no words to even describe Stevie. He is soul and r&b Royalty.
This song started playing on the radio when I turned it on in my car while driving... For those five or so minutes this song played, my car was, literally, the Funk Mobile.
Have you seen how Stevie plays the riff? Totally unique. I never noticed that he plays the F# with his right index. I always assumed all was done ont he one hand. Dam. He tapping the top bit and that is what adds the groove. Theres the magic.
This song is so freeking great. Love the drums, bass, and that incredibly good trumpet that goes through my ear like a sword! And synthesizers and Stevie's voice and fingers on those keyboards makes this jam so awesome!
It's a shame that most of my generation (teenagers) think that vocalists such as 1D overrule talent such as Wonder. His music is utterly mesmerising and there's power and thought which comes with the incredible melody in the background. Absolutely brilliant. I love Stevie Wonder, he's so talented.
Stevie in Baltimore at Pier 6, I believe. He was stoked because of the audience reaction and got up on the grand piano (with help) and danced. One of the best shows ever.
Wish you many more best years to come. When I heard this song for the first time, I was living in the Bronx. Now I'm in Bangkok this song really take me back. Thank you very much.

"very superstitious...the devil's on the way..." That is so true. Beware of superstition masked as "truth". There is no peace in following fears based on superstitions. A lot in so many religions these days.
We all need them I suppose. I know that a lot of religious fervor is based on our fear of bad luck, or evil spirits, or things not based on Truth. I know I have superstitions. We all do and need to respect that about the human condition. We ALL have a superstitious fear of what we don't know. I try very hard to overcome them by faith that everything in this life has a purpose and we need to try to NOT operate in fear of what we can't see or control, and not dismiss that about our fragile existence in this life. There isi sooooo much we cannot have any power over. We need to try not to allow fear of it in...and Stevie makes the point in this one line that when we do, "the devil's on his way." That is an entry way to letting fear of evil control us...to know this gives us more power Steve MUFC and to respect it in others will give us more unity to overcome our fears (hopefully).
A lot of people in religion don't act out of fear however, and it's difficult for some people to understand this until they've truly experienced what they have, or as you would believe what they claim to have experienced. I myself believe, I believe I've had genuine revelation and some of it yes I suppose could be down to fear. But in truth it isn't the entire picture. I would feel fickle if my entire faith was based around fear.
Steve MUFC A scripture I try to live my life hour by hour is very grounding. For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love, and power and a sound mind. If these things come they aren't from God and can be gotten rid of by facing what we fear. I had to. I learned that to keep running from my fear only helped it keep chasing me. Once I turned and faced it...the flight was over. The fight to bring it to nothing has begun. What we don't know CAN hurt us...we learn to take a sense of fear as a warning that something is not right and to be on alert. Ignoring our fears is not conquering them. If we ignore our foe it empowers it. To let evil have its will unrestrained is the way to certain destruction. We must resist evil non violently if possible. If someone keeps attacking me I will defend myself...but no one can provoke me to violence as a first resort. He didn't say what to do after we offer the other cheek and he strikes that one too. He said to sell what we own and buy a sword meaning to prepare to defend ourselves now that He was leaving the planet. He spoke damnation on the synagogue of satan but did He turn around and forgive it on the cross? Idk...i think He forgave those who didn't know what they were doing. The Pharisees knew what they were doing...? That one has me stumped lately.
Walkin Bonita He forgives those who truly ask for forgiveness, those who truly accept that he died to save us and through him it is the only way to gain eternal life. The Pharisees were power hungry and jealous, they saw but they did not listen, they had every opportunity to repent and follow Jesus but instead they killed him. For them, their god was the power and praise and respect they got from their position, and that is their full reward. If someone keeps attacking you and persecutes you and tries to kill you because of your faith, what is better, to die for Christ? Or to live for nothing?

I think they did a study on this video and it has been determined that it is scientifically impossible to get more funky than this. Stevie reached Absolute Funk
The funkiest funk that ever funk'd a funk.
Absolute masterpiece.
Agreed!
You said it Josh, 8 notes in and I'm dancing! Still feeling it in my soul: I'm 65. Get your groove on brother! 😆
Well said!!!!
Little Stevie got that clavi burpin' like a brand new set of tupperware bowls!!!
Steve Madaio is awesome on trumpet. He played with so many top artists during his career. Sadly he died last year of a heart attack. RIP Steve

Dizzy Gillespie.
I miss the funk of the 70’s. Nothing better anytime of the day.
The apex of Hohner clavinet funkiness! What a groove!
This funk beat is groovy!

One of the most incredible songs ever written, there's so much going on here it baffles the mind.
So true ... 👌
Agree. Complex melodies and rhythm absolutely locked into place by the genius of SW.
Yeah Him and Jimi Hendrix had it going on … no doubt … !!!
After all these my jaw still drops when I see Stevie W. playing this master piece.
A masterpiece from Mr. Stevie...:)
Brian Powers wonderful song

One of the greatest songs to come out of the seventies! I can listen on a loop for an hour. My happy early teenage years ❤
I just love watching his hands move when playing the piano. It's so effortless
It is like E.T. would do :-))
It looks like, he's just faking it :-)
With Ron Jeremy on the Trumpet... There ain't no faking anything ;)
@yankeez99 it's not a piano it's a clavinet and you can clearly match it at the beginning of the song
Would you guy believe that cool cat playing the horn is the same guy that wrote Micheal Jackson's Human Nature tune.... cool vid dude Classic Stevie Wonder and some great guys in his band peace ....

Considering Stevie Wonder's considerable music talents, I would argue that most people are more disabled than he is
That was so great to watch. To see the musicians playing the real version. Everyone being careful to play it clean. GREAT beat.
Stevie Wonder is a genius possessed of a sublime gift, Happy Birthday Stevie!
I don't think that is what sublime means.
Now there is a brilliant man. He has more talent in his left hand than every current mainstream "pop star" combined.

Nice to see a live version with trumpet. The trumpet makes the song.
That large cat on bass has more soul than this whole current generation.

Gosh, I think his vocal on this are better than the albums....
