@@clickman443 the media puts emphasis on it because it plays well in politics. I think there are probably more people getting head injuries now than there was in the 80s-2010s. Most of the safety regulations they've put in or put in by people that don't play football and it's caused the instinct based game to become a series of random rules that change every year. The game got so complicated that players actually get hurt more trying to follow all the rules instead of just hitting hard and reacting.

I am 55 years old, as a little kid in the 70s my dad was a Cowboy's fan and I always admired them even though I was a Seahawks fan just because I was a little kid and they were new with uniforms I loved. As I grew I watched the Landry era end and was excited to watch the JJ era develop, I knew watching the 90 team that they were going to be really good. Even as a Hawks fan I enjoyed the Dallas resurgence, it was even heartbreaking to me when Johnson left. It just seemed unbelievable that either one of them would allow it to happen. I don't think that they would be won 3 to 4 SB in a row. Free agency has a way of decimating your team from the role players to the key pieces. So many people left the team for greener pastures. Cassilias, Norton, Washington, Del Rio, Gogan, Gesek, Harper, etc... Even now it's hard to keep your core group of great players for 3 to 5 years.
