the old house actually isn't that bad. it takes a minute to get used to but I actually think the art style works kinda well with some of the stuff they throw at you. like the moving walls/floors
I think the first one was more effective due to its grey-scaling. I dunno, it just felt creepier to me because of that, and I liked the shadows more than the giant/shrinking objects. *Must be an intruder*
John’s**
John’s*
i was screaming “ THE FRUIT BOWL IS MISSING “ & THE PAINTING IN THE HALL “ 😂😂
I'm surprised the house isn't the one that's used in most games/that John recognizes on sight. Cool to see something different
I'm would really like a kind of free roam mode in this house, it just looks really nice and cozy. It's a shame the third game is so bad compared to this
Do you mean HQ residential house?
I remember walking through this very house in VRChat. Seems like this asset hasn't been used in enough games for John to mention it.
That's HQ Residential House. I only remember it from Share and Tattletail, and the latter is the only one that made _good_ use of it AFAIK.
The one used here is called "HQ Suburban House" and can be found on the Unity Asset Store
23:27 and 27:38 Idk how to explain it but John’s way of talking and sense of humor just hits the spot for me 😂
You heard it for the second time folks, he's on observation duty
@@Guys._. hopefully that happens. I can't wait for the observation duty cinematic universe to all come together
@@Guys._. eeeh the third game's rather boring. Maybe content for a random games stream though, idk.
I'm glad I stuck around for the second half, those were the greatest intruders I've seen, in my life. Especially the guy "laughing" (if you can really call it that) in the bathroom.
the old house actually isn't that bad. it takes a minute to get used to but I actually think the art style works kinda well with some of the stuff they throw at you. like the moving walls/floors
*hallway door opens*
Sorry, that's my cat. Sometimes he decides he needs to be in my room.
John there’s secret endings to both games that contribute to the lore
I think the first one was more effective due to its grey-scaling. I dunno, it just felt creepier to me because of that, and I liked the shadows more than the giant/shrinking objects. This had some pretty good moments though, and I could definitely see other people preferring this over its predecessor.
Thank you for coming back to play it again John I really appreciate you doing this!
Would be funny if it was the HQ Residential House
I'm super happy you're getting close to 1m, you deserve it!
John has the best gaming commentary.
He’s very reasonable and efficient.
lulz john at 25:21 you didnt blur it out when you cycled back through the cameras xD
AHAHAHA she givin dat shloppy toppy 💀💀
@@rachelmarie3614 *He. It's two men doing it lmao
@@percyap4271 wait wha
@@percyap4271 Oh okay true we don’t discriminate ANYONE IS CAPABLE OF GIVIN DAT SHLOP TOP
Oh good... it wasn't just me that saw that brief uncencensored scene and just HAD to spam the pause button to see exactly what vile inappropriateness so thoroughly shocked John. lmao
I think it would be super creepy if there were anomalies that made you question the morality of your job. Like if one of the anomalies was just a scared, crying person outside begging to be let in. But you can't do anything but report them as an intruder and wait while they sob until the anomaly is 'fixed'. And you'll be left feeling guilty and wondering if they genuinely needed help, and what they were seeking shelter from.
Good to see this games getting more attention, the 3rd one I wouldn't recommend however lol
@@Guys._. Its just incredibly boring. Same formula but 1st person and you walk around. A lot of reused assets from the second game. It has VR support so maybe that carries it, but I didn't try it VR.
@@0osk if you found the third game boring then you should find all of them to be boring too lol. Same game just free roam. It doesn’t change as much as you make it look.
howcome?
@@miguelthekewlkid272 No, the first two are less boring because you can quickly snap between rooms. The third game you have to run through the hall and walk through some rooms to be able to see everything. It just takes more time for the same result.
The third one is pretty fun in vr
Your boss: “wa wa wa wa wa”
Me: “I completely understand”
That man who popping up and telling you too fix the anomalies look like a robot he might be and anomaly himself
17:27
Corpse/Former intruder. John I'm dead 😂
It's nice to see John having fun with a game like this, i hope he doesn't get too dissapointed when he gets to the third one
I had to pause the video after the guy at the start because I was crying laughing so hard and couldnt pay attention to John for a minute lmao
Holy, Didn’t think you’d actually play the second one. Glad these games are getting attention. Don’t play the 3rd one though, it loses the charm the first 2 had and becomes another generic horror game
How? I’ve seen a bit of gameplay and it’s basically the same thing except it’s free roam. It’s kinda scarier that way tbh.
@@miguelthekewlkid272 The third one feels a lot worse than the first 2. Everything is weirdly sized, anomalies' models are meh, shadows/light rendering makes everything flat, there isn't much in the way of rooms, and it feels like there are max 20-30 anomalies at best instead of the hundred or so you can get from the first and second game. It's not worth playing.
@@taxibutler1858 Ohh so the quality of the game is low compared to the other two? That makes more sense.
We still want to see him play it even if it’s bad, John plays bad games at times
@@Maikeru101 yes! I want too see the third even if it’s worse, the creator is trying new things and not playing it safe which I like!
28:58 omfg this actually got me, and when it was removed i just laughed.
Damn this game is good. I agree with John... less ketchup bottle b i g and more of this. Though maybe thats what makes these crazy moments special.... 20 mundane for 1 or 2 WTF moments
I just watched your playthrough of the first one today so I was excited to see this pop up! That zoom in on the shoe caught me so off guard, got a good laugh out of that!
These videos are great man! They're super entertaining and are a great testament to how good editing can add to the entertainment value of a video.
That freeze-frame at 25:21 got me shooketh.
10:08
bro its stuff like "yea i wanna stick around and see that anomaly get _cleansed_ , if you will" that makes me like you more and more every video i watch.
you're so simple yet so amazingly hilarious at the same time lmaooo
27:35 I totally saw that figure standing at the window 😱
Can't wait for Observation Duty 3!
13:55
John: "Either than that it has been... Uneventful."
Chess pieces: "Good evening"
John: "Oh wow"
Watched this in the dark at night alone and got so freaked out but your humor got me through, respect ✌️
OH NO he did NOT just pull the ol' "Double Ketchup" on our boy John. The audacity.
Jesus. I looked up when you said "fancy house" and realised that this was a world in VRChat in 2017.
lol, the intruder anomalies are so freaky!
I really miss the distortion anomaly, that one was really disturbing.
Also, the sexual intruder in this was was cool.
the relative rarity of the big things coupled with the "be alert, looking for the tiniest change" core gameplay, really works well. I'd say they have it down pretty well. if it were more common it would have to be lazy jumpscare trash to "work" because if the game was full of weird vibrating window people it would just become routine and take the game from occasionally unsettling to just "weird, vaguely japanese game" status
Man some of these really freaked me out, great video!
Like the baby in the bathroom that made mongoose noises
25:21 you failed to mask the naked couple, John!!!!
Pause game strong 😏
Thank you So So soooooo much for filming this video I was really exited for this one 😁
Where are you exiting to?
@@ringer1324 I am exited because I posted a comment on his I m on observation duty video about that the second one and the third one exist but I didn't think that he was going to film them So I am just really happy that he did 🙃
I straight up ugly laughed at 25:23 when he was like... "They stopped doing what they were doing, and they both looked at me... They both looked straight at me." 🤣🤣 That just cracks me tf up for some reason. The pause before he says it, and the awkward vibe from it all just cracks me tf up.
"timothy" has got to be the least threatening name out there lmao
What about Mikey
@@alexanderm.635 could be some kind of italian mobster it has potential
@@Guys._. sounds like a big middle-aged muscly guy with an attitude, potentially a violent guy imo. No offense to all the calm-mannered nice Petes out there.
@@Guys._. fearless guy, would do something batshit insane at any given moment. terrifyingly unpredictable
@@Guys._. reminds me of that asshole in GOT, you know the one, so i hate him already. Same batshit insane vibes as Andy except Jeffrey has more money and connections, if he's going down you're going down with him.
I mean, I kinda like the random mundane objects growths and such because it makes the sudden appearance of a large naked baby laughing at you that much weirder. This game is so cool.
Can't wait for a video of the third game! These are fun to watch because the audience is sort of able to play along. Don't forget the other house in this game though 😋
"Daddy made some more content for you, open wide" xD bro i fucking died
YESSSS John! I'm so excited for this, we were really hoping you'd play the other games!
This is like those games in the newspapers that are like "Spot the difference between these two pictures!" but made into a horror game.
I was hoping you'd play the second one ever since i learned about its existence
I enjoy the vague explanation of why the anomalies exist since it gives more free reign to make up anything as an anomaly. Thanks for playing this!
*2 Naked guys having adult fun*

And is there an issue with that?
@@swirls9583 Nope I'm always down for some guy on guy action.
