I like Andy. He's alot of fun. Have him come back more. People from southern U.S. laugh at us northern folks because of our bad winters. Not funny when your stalled, or in major car accidents and can't move. One thing my grandparents showed me was a big candle in a metal coffee can. They said if you stall out in winter, you can light candle and stay warm inside of car. It does work. Just enough heat. Just crack window once in a while for fresh air. Great video. It was informative and fun.

Thanks, Andy I got a lot of great tips from you. I may be old-school but I like to carry a paper map of local and a paper map of the state. You'd be surprised how many times it comes in handy. Something else I carry that may be old-school is road fires. They are great to sit several feet away from your car to give other cars plenty of warning that you are stuck alongside the road.

Pan, another great video. In the hatch of my 2020 X3m40i, for possible car battery issues, I keep an Antigravity XP-10 Heavy Duty, Micro-Start, Litihium Jump Starter Power Supply and a Fluke 115 RMS Digital Multimeter. This alleviates dealing with jumper cables. I use the Fluke 115 to check the battery voltage (hopefully always 12V). Paul

Always a good idea to remind folks about some basic things everyone should have in their cars, jumper cables flashlight thermal blanket rain poncho first aid kit and such. Good idea to have the guide as to what information should be used if involved in an accident. If you happen to be involved in one usually everyone is a bit nervous and it’s easy to forget about what you should do. Now most phones have cameras, but carrying a disposable one is an option. Take a lot of pictures even if you are at fault.
Just as important everyone should know how to change a tire, men and women alike.
Looking forward to seeing your next video ‼️👍✌️☮️

My best car tip is cutting up a foam pool noodle to allow my water bottles to fit into my front cup holders. I am the proud new owner of a 2017 Toyota Highlander. I love everything about my car, but the cup holders. They were gigantic and the insert I had purchased from Amazon would pop out every time I removed my water bottles, so I came up with this hack and it works great!

I live in Buffalo so being prepared for emergencies, snow or otherwise is no joke. I carry 2 blankets, gloves, hat, granola bars and pretty much everything else you showed. Scissors, I always need those too. Zip ties, flash light. Lots of quarters......I sew as well and since the pandemic have made an organizer with what I need quick access to on my passenger seat. Sanitizer, wipes, clean masks, tic tacs (gotta have fresh breath for a mask) LOL Have to have your own grocery bags now too. I also typed up emergency information in all of our vehicles and keep that with our vehicle registration and proof of insurance. We also just updated all of our lighting on our vehicles to LED. Much brighter and safer. Great video Pan & Andy 😃

Besides the little umbrella in the driver's door compartment I also like to carry a high visibility jacket (if anything happens, I can put one on as I'm getting out of my car) and a microfibre towel to remove fingerprints and dust from the piano black interior (at every traffic light basically :) ).

Here in AZ pens don’t keep very long stored in uncontrolled environments, so I keep pencils in my car as well. Also, storm proof matches with the lighter. I also keep a ferro rod and striker. Instead of 2 Swiss Army knives, maybe one and a multi tool like a Leatherman. A tarp folded up under a seat is never a bad idea. A jump start pack is nice in case there is no one around to jump start you and they fit nicely into you map pocket on the door.

@@PanTheOrganizer Pan, I was going to buy Meguiar's Ultimate Snow Form but I think I may change my mind. Because it's temperature sensitive. When it's cooler outside it turns cloudy don't know if I like that. But I'm still thinking. I will tell you, I bought detailing brushes from Fox Clean. Haven't used them yet but they look like good detailing brushes. They're Synthetic brushes that's what I wanted. It was a package of 3 brushes. I only got the 1 3 pack. I don't know how many brushes I need to really get. Maybe the 3 is all I really need. The brushes are gray and red. So what do you think?

Great video Pan and Andy! I definitely need to up my game on my emergency pack and this is so very helpful, thank you both.
One thing I need to add and I saw this just last night actually, and that is that window breaker, it needs to be at the ready. On your keychain, within reach. In an emergency being at the bottom of the console is not good, as time will be of the essence. That’s courtesy of “Adventures With Purpose” channel.
    Cheers.

On-topic comment. Another great alternative to the Swiss Army knife is any Leatherman Tool. Often issued by the US military, its an extremely handy and versatile tool and you can get them almost anywhere in multiple sizes. Also for the survivalists, and/or those of you that live in areas with extremely cold winters, a flint kit to help start a fire is usually extremely small and compact.

Excellent video as always Pan!!! New (off-topic) question if you have some time to answer. I've been following your video to clean the wheels and tires on my 2018 M550i but after I dry them the finish on the wheels is dull and hazy and somewhat splotchy looking. On the last cleaning I used P&S Brake Buster, Car Pro Iron Particle Remover and the Gyeon Wet Coat. I get the water beeding and sheeting but finish is very dull. I suspect the wheels may have been cleaned inappropriately or with inappropriate chemicals in the past. What could I use to shine them up and restore the factory shine and color?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Perhaps a quick machine polish with something like Sonax Perfect Finish would remove that dull look on the wheels. Don't forget, they are clear coated, like your car's paint, and that clear coat oxidizes and fades over time. It needs restoration and protection against UV rays.

I would add what I would call the giveaway bag filled with some inexpensive winter hats and gloves, space blankets, non-perishable food items, and bottled waters. That way if you happen across someone who ran off the road in a ditch or is broke down on the side of the road you can offer things to them if they are not as winter apocalypse prepared as Andy.
Also I would move the mag light flashlight to the door pocket with the umbrella.

I have a tire plug repair kit and a small air compressor for flat tires that plugs into my car if I had a flat tire for the times I'm taking longer road trips. Also, basic tools, quart of oil, water, a warning flashing device shaped like a big triangle, special flashlight that has different lights so if I wanted to get help and catch someone's attention and it is a rechargeable flashlight.

This is a great example of how to organise your car, great video! What I would suggest is to add two emergency reflective triangles , in case your car breaks down on the road and it's low visibility, a car can spot you early without hitting you. A yellow or orange reflective vest and a small fire extinguisher. There are mandatory in my country among other stuff...

Man, that's really nice, Pan. Your brother's car is really well organized. I gotta get those trunk separators, although I find my Drive organizer stays fairly well put. I do feel like I tend to fill the thing up, though. I'm wondering if smaller is better to compartmentalize more efficiently like your brother here has.
Two things I have that your brother might like are a collapsible shopping box bag (Green Bulldog) and cable clip holders (OHill). The bag is useful for transporting heavy items (up to 60 lbs) and when not in use can be used to store your other reusable bags or items. The cable clips stick on your car with 3M tape. I use these to stop the phone cable from dangling over the shifter.

Nice video. Masks and grocery bags are vital. I also carry a bottle of drinking water in cubbyhole- once got stuck in a traffic jam for hours and was so thirsty. The mineral water must be in a glass bottle, not plastic bottle. Also carry a side cutter - cuts cable ties easily. The only issue is when the car gets stolen, all the stuff will be gone as well. Was in an accident once and the breakdown guys who towed my vehicle stole most of the stuff in my trunk, especially my Swiss knife. You need to find a balance to pack the things into the car that are not too expensive.
