The Plains 50th Celebrations Featuring A64, JA 1260, K 88 & RM 50

During the weekend of the 18th - 19th of November 2023 The Plains Vintage Railway & Historical Museum celebrated their 50th anniversary.
A 64, JA 1260 and K 88 were all in steam & were on a rotating roster hauling their two A class carriages complete with their F class guards wagon along the 2500 metre private railway. This private railway was originally part of the Mount Somers branch line. Their RM 50 railcar also took part & offered excursions along the branchline, while the steam locomotives were being changed over.
To conclude the first day a double header of K 88 & JA 1260 along with a mixed consist of wagons & carriages was a great sight to see.
Not only was the Vintage Railway running but also the Historical Museum was open & they hosted traction engines and various displays of historical farming implements.
It was a great weekend and congratulations to all the volunteers of The Plains Vintage Railway & Historical Museum for putting together such a great weekend.
