I'm more of a British outline modeller, but I have to admit, I find that there's something oddly pleasing about how the Rogers' K class look to my eye.

That's because America makes among one of the best steam locomotives. And they're built to last.

It's quite a regal looking train in my opinion. If it can sit in the river for 50 years at the end of it's working life and still be salvageable it's safe to say it's built to last.

That’s some stack talk, beautiful loco as well, if I remember correctly I think it was fished out of a river then restored

You are correct. It was buried in the Oreti River for flood protection in the 1920s and fished out in the 1970s.

She looks, sounds, and really knows how to strut her stuff. What an absolutely beautiful locomotive !

I agree. much more elegant looking than some of the other steam trains I've seen.

Handsome little thing, and with nice exhaust sound, nice whistle.

Soooooooooooooooooo nice, what a sweet old beauty. But next time you visit, please tell the engineer to blow that magic sounding whistle more often. I just can't get enough of steam whistles, weird I know.

It was more a case of catching it when the whistle was blowing. I believe the steam locos I uploaded from Ferrymead had their whistles going if you are interested. Because of the interest in this video I'm hoping to get back in the very near future I will see what I can do.
