Great colour! I just got my first Rebel 500 in matte white. What a great bike they are. Question though, couldn't you have the tank and the fender wrapped? No need for the swap.

Hey man, I noticed that since you installed the shorty exhaust you left the bracket for the old exhaust on. You can take that off now, it'll give the bike a cleaner look.
Cratoast good eye! It’s actually still on because I’m putting passenger pegs and a passenger seat on soon. They’d already be on, but my passenger pegs showed up damaged 😔 Soon enough I’ll have them on so that bracket doesn’t look so out of place though! 😂

I am so mad this color isnt no long available in the 2019/2020 versions in spain, i loved those bright orange tones.
Looking at buying a 500 as my first bike. It’s a used 21, with scuffed up rear fender and turn signals. 1000 miles. Does $4900 sound about right? Love the videos!
Blue was one of my considerations actually! My wife has a blue CRV so I almost did that to match her. The other option was going white like my old Rebel 300 since that color was only ever available on the 300 and only for one year. But I just couldn’t pass up on this orange! 😍🍊
Paul Perez ooo that could be an interesting color combo! I’m an Orioles fan (by proximity, not winningness 😂) so my color combo is already inadvertently on point!
Great video! One question though. Is it safe to reuse the fuel pump gasket? Would it be better to use a new one or is it part of the fuel pump and require replacing the entire thing?
Partzilla and Ron Ayers are both good for OEM parts. Of course there are others. I ordered a new tank for a Rebel that had some damage that I picked up for great price, just came in this morning. I also did the Vance & Hines slip on from RevZilla. I highly recommend it. Looks great and sounds even better than I thought it would.
Daniel Buckner I’d love to see! If you haven’t already, go join the Facebook group called “Honda Rebel 300 & 500” and post a picture in there! I’m pretty active in there and I’m sure everyone would love to see it too. There’s tons of useful info in that group.
@@djlancer88 honestly I don’t even remember. I don’t remember it taking long, maybe a week, but that was also pre-pandemic so it may be different now. Congrats on the new tank though dude! I bet you’re stoked!
I got everything from TMSparts.com! It’s the cheapest site I’ve found for any OEM parts. When entering your make/model just select any year that offered a matte black fender and then when you go to the rear fender section it’ll tell you which part number is which color 👌🏻
Which bike do you prefer honestly?or will that be another vid? I have a 1997 vfr and it's a wonderful bike but I loved the 2014 ctx 700n just as much even though performance was no contest the vfr was much faster!
Between the VFR and Rebel? It’s hard to say since they’re totally different bikes. Honestly I have more fun on the Rebel since it’s so light and easy to throw around, plus I’m less worried if anything happens to it since parts are so readily available unlike the VFR. The VFR on the other hand just feels like so much more of a beast! It feels more like a machine than a toy if that makes sense. It’s heavier, but also more powerful obviously so it’s nice being able to ride with my wife and not even notice her on there really. It just stresses me out riding it sometimes because it’s so old that I almost want to keep it in a glass box so that nothing happens to it 😂
I sure am! I’m trying to keep the sale local though since shipping would be a pain I’m sure. I’ll be posting it in the “Honda Rebel 300 & 500” Facebook group once I clean it up and get some pictures of it.
im planning on buying the rebel in a few months and ive been watching ur channel religiously since yesterday lol I've got a whooole list of mods. Curious why you didn't opt to paint or wrap the gas tank? i'm thinking of wrapping in british racing green and adding some vintage honda emblems. not to mention a brown quilted seat, a rear fender delete and swingarm mounted plate.
Nice man! I’m glad you’re digging the channel. Based off your Ravens picture I’m guessing you may be local, so we should ride once you get your Rebel! I didn’t wrap or paint my tank because at the end of the day it was cheaper and easier to just swap it out. That may not be the case for you since you want a color that wasn’t offered from the factory, but I fell in LOVE with this orange color the second I saw it. If I were to get it wrapped or painted it would’ve been a similar orange anyway. So here was my thought process- I went to a wrap shop when I had my Rebel 300 and asked about having the tank wrapped orange. They said it would be $250-$400 depending on how long it took because of how tricky it would be to do. They said because the tank is so small it would be hard to get the wrap to lay cleanly without taking their time around all the curves and edges. Well for that price I could probably just have a body shop paint it for me and obviously look better than wrap, but then I have to worry about removing the tank and being without a tank or bike while they paint it, then hoping it turns out a decent quality, and all that good stuff. The route that I went, I was only without a bike for a couple hours while I swapped everything over, I knew it would be good paint quality coming straight from Honda, and it was way cheaper than the other options. Sure, I had to pay $485 up front for the tank and fender, but assuming I sell them both for $300, then I’ve only paid $185 for a brand new tank and fender in the exact color scheme I wanted. That’s my reasoning anyway. Hope that helps!
why dont you get rid of the (pillion foot grid) - you have an spezial exhaust and dont need it anymore i think... would look way more smoother - btw. the Color is settet realy nice!
LifeOfBurch yes sir! I’m in the market for a rebel 500 and I’ve appreciated your videos! I’ll let you know when I get one and send you a pic of it! Keep on doing these! Ttyl

I don't really like the orange color. Just bought a new rebel 300 black out version (2023). It is absolutely beautiful. Got a trekker outback box and rear rack in matching black. It is just so damn sexy.
Yea man, not hard to do at all! Plus, if you take the 2020 tank/fender off right away then they’ll be in perfect shape and you should be able to get good money out of them.
I'm interested in changing the stock diamond shaped front and back turn lights to the newer round 2020 version. Do you know if I'll need to swap the turn relays too?
Abdullah Harith Fakhri bin Basiron I’m not sure what all needs to be done, but I do know that they’re not direct plug and play. I’d assume you need flasher relays since they’re LED, but can’t say for certain. Personally, I’d just get aftermarket LED signals since you can probably find better looking ones for cheaper and the same work would be involved. If you aren’t already on the Facebook group called “Honda Rebel 300 & 500” I’d definitely recommend checking it out. I think at least one person has put the new turn signals on their bike, so it may be worth searching on there. Hope that helps!

Burch. Do you still have the old tank and fender? Also im looking to swap my 2019 500 abs to gloss black. Will any year fit?? What year is yours? What was the stock color called? Will cmx500 ac fit aac? Does a/ac/aac matter? Ugh. I want to make sure I don't buy something that doesn't fit. Thanks!
Old tank and fender are gone, sorry! Any year will fit and a/ac/aac shouldn’t matter, all that matters is that a 500 tank will only fit a 500 and a 300 tank will only fit a 300. The fuel pump hole/attachment is different on the 300 vs 500. My bike is a 2017 with a 2019 tank and they’re identical, so you’d be good with any year’s gloss black setup. Check out TMSparts.com and just enter whichever year has the color you want. That’s where I got my stuff because it was the cheapest site I found. Great customer service too. Just make sure you see that their free shipping doesn’t apply to a tank/fender because it’s oversized. They ended up needing an extra $50 or so for shipping, but that’s to be expected anywhere. Hope that helps brotha!
@@tyronemoore4830 dude you got this!! Make a plan on how to get there and stick to it! If you told me a year ago that I’d be buying my 1100 in cash I’d think you were crazy, but if you want it bad enough you’ll find a way! Good luck brotha! 🤘🏻
Austin W I got them both through TMSparts.com and they have every factory color that came on the Rebel. They actually have literally any factory Honda part you’d need. In order to find the right color tank you just have to make sure that when you enter what model your bike is, you select the year that had the color you’re looking for. So I believe you’d want to select 2017 for the blue tank.
Austin W no problem! Just as a heads up, the site says free shipping, but the tank doesn’t qualify for free shipping since it’s an oversized item. After you purchase it they’ll send you an email letting you know that shipping is an additional 30-ish bucks. Still the cheapest I’ve found though!
@@LifeOfBurch this made my day! I've been wanting the candy lightning blue color they had but I've only seen it on rebel 300's now I can make my 500 blue! Thanks so much! Can't wait for more videos!
the sensoryoverlord niiice! That color is one of my favorites as well! Did you get it for $5,700 including tax, tag, title, the whole 9 yards? Or in your state do you pay those separately?
I wanna do this for my Rebel so bad!! I emailed support and they said there’s no way to guarantee that the 2019 tank would fit on the new 2021 model. What year was yours again? I don’t know if I should risk the money and try it or just get a custom paint instead
So mine was a 2017 with a 2019 tank on it. I just looked into it and I’m 99.999999999% sure ALL Rebel 500 tanks are interchangeable, regardless of whether it’s the ‘17-‘19 styling or ‘20-‘21 styling. The matte black tank is the same exact part number in 2019 as it is in 2021, so there’s no reason that all the other tanks wouldn’t work also. Just make sure if you have a 300 you only get a 300 tank, and if you have a 500 you only get a 500 tank.
@@LifeOfBurch hey! Thanks so much for replying! I went ahead and got the tank and will just have to see what happens. If it doesn’t end up working guess there’s always wraps of I can custom paint. Thank you so much for your help though!!! 😁😁

Emil C thanks man! 🙏🏻 I don’t know what color each wire is, but the brake light plug should be the white plug that I undid. The blue and orange plugs should be for the rear turn signals.
TMSparts.com man! That’s where I got mine from. When you enter your bike just make sure you put 2017 Rebel 500, go to gas tank, and they’ll have every color listed 👌🏻
I’m looking at buying a rebel 500 but I love the touring fairing fairing that is sold as an extra for the rebel1100 . Does anyone know if it will fit On a 500 ?
I’m sure you could make it work, but it would take some fabricating since the bracket wouldn’t be a direct fit. I’d imagine you’d need to have an entire new bracket made. But with that said, the bracket is like $300-350 so I’m sure having one made couldn’t be a crazy amount more.
I just saw you add the part about the blue bowl full of gas 😂 Unfortunately since I didn’t have a lid for the bowl, the gas was full of leaves and dirt by the time I was done swapping everything over 😔 I didn’t really think that part through lol

Wait a minute!!! This man has a wife and his favorite motorcycle?!?! Lucky bastard, how did he pull that off?!?!
Thanks for the great vid. Where did you order thr gas tank and rear fender from?
Ahah went to see new bikes yesterday & wife fell in love with the flat black Rebel 300. New sub here. Great vid!
Thanks for the kind words and for subscribing! 🙏🏻 Be sure to check out the couple Rebel 300 videos I have on my channel as well. In the near future I’m hoping to do a 300 vs 500 comparison video which may help too!
How did you refuel your tank? I don't know how to fill my gas tank on my rebel 300 2021 cuz of a bar in the tank
Nice! Love the orange (maybe even better now than my flat black)! Well done! :)
Where do u get your parts from?
ive always wondered, you know how they can wrap a car and make it a different color? can they do that for the tank of the motorcycle?
Good job and cool video...but I liked it better with the all glossy black. Something about all black makes it look more sporty and cool.
Your bike looks awesome. Orange is not my favourite colour, but it certainly works on the bike. 😀👍
Thank you! I’m so excited about it! 🤘🏻
@@LifeOfBurch 🤘
Looking at buying a 500 as my first bike. It’s a used 21, with scuffed up rear fender and turn signals. 1000 miles. Does $4900 sound about right? Love the videos!
I was thinking blue! But that color is nice
Blue was one of my considerations actually! My wife has a blue CRV so I almost did that to match her. The other option was going white like my old Rebel 300 since that color was only ever available on the 300 and only for one year. But I just couldn’t pass up on this orange! 😍🍊
Is the fender metal or plastic?
where can i buy the tank?
Damn, that looks nice. I'm a Mets fan so now you have me thinking about orange and blue combos.
Paul Perez ooo that could be an interesting color combo! I’m an Orioles fan (by proximity, not winningness 😂) so my color combo is already inadvertently on point!
I know video couple years old but where can I find rebel tanks
Gonna paint mine purple with metallics myself. Tank and both fenders. It needs color on it.
Great video! One question though. Is it safe to reuse the fuel pump gasket? Would it be better to use a new one or is it part of the fuel pump and require replacing the entire thing?
That’s sweet! I want to something similar with mine but a white tank. How did you get those parts?
Partzilla and Ron Ayers are both good for OEM parts. Of course there are others. I ordered a new tank for a Rebel that had some damage that I picked up for great price, just came in this morning. I also did the Vance & Hines slip on from RevZilla. I highly recommend it. Looks great and sounds even better than I thought it would.
I actually originally had the orange but I am getting it repainted a ruby red
Ooo the ruby red should look pretty awesome too though!
LifeOfBurch I’m hoping so! And then wanna change over to the brown leather seats and add a passenger seat. Hopefully it turns out as planned
LifeOfBurch if you’d like to see I got my bike back today! You know a way I can share the pic?
Daniel Buckner I’d love to see! If you haven’t already, go join the Facebook group called “Honda Rebel 300 & 500” and post a picture in there! I’m pretty active in there and I’m sure everyone would love to see it too. There’s tons of useful info in that group.
LifeOfBurch will do shortly!
My dream bike!
long shot but do you happen to still have the black tank? Interested in selling it?
I already sold it, but TMSparts.com is the cheapest place I’ve found for any OEM parts! That’s where I got my orange tank from.
@@LifeOfBurch Ordered a new tank today, thank you for the reccomendation. Out of curiousity how long did it take to recieve your tank?
@@djlancer88 honestly I don’t even remember. I don’t remember it taking long, maybe a week, but that was also pre-pandemic so it may be different now. Congrats on the new tank though dude! I bet you’re stoked!
@@LifeOfBurch oh I am, Thanks Burch
How did you find the orange tank?! I’ve been looking but can’t find one
Neo Moyotl I got it from TMSparts.com! Just make sure to enter the model year as 2019 since that’s the only year that had the orange.
Where did you get the matte black rear fender? Or what’s the part #?
I got everything from TMSparts.com! It’s the cheapest site I’ve found for any OEM parts. When entering your make/model just select any year that offered a matte black fender and then when you go to the rear fender section it’ll tell you which part number is which color 👌🏻
@@LifeOfBurch Thank you for taking your time to respond!! You’re the best! Safe riding!
It just stresses me out riding it sometimes because it’s so old that I almost want to keep it in a glass box so that nothing happens to it 😂
Great choice!
Thanks!! 🙏🏻
Are you selling the old gloss black gas tank by any chance?
I sure am! I’m trying to keep the sale local though since shipping would be a pain I’m sure. I’ll be posting it in the “Honda Rebel 300 & 500” Facebook group once I clean it up and get some pictures of it.
That color look sick man, where did you order the parts from, if you don't mind me asking ?
ever find out where the parts came from?
Love the color. Love TGI as well.
Alexander Daniels I thought you’d like that! 🤘🏻🙌🏻
im planning on buying the rebel in a few months and ive been watching ur channel religiously since yesterday lol
I've got a whooole list of mods.
So here was my thought process-
I went to a wrap shop when I had my Rebel 300 and asked about having the tank wrapped orange.
LifeOfBurch ah I’d love to but unfortunately I live in israel now. I am from Baltimore originally tho yeah. This is our year!
why dont you get rid of the (pillion foot grid) - you have an spezial exhaust and dont need it anymore i think... would look way more smoother - btw. the Color is settet realy nice!
The Ghost Inside!
You know it!! 🤘🏻 I couldn’t resist throwing that in at the end given how well it fits 😂
LifeOfBurch yes sir! I’m in the market for a rebel 500 and I’ve appreciated your videos! I’ll let you know when I get one and send you a pic of it! Keep on doing these! Ttyl
Orange is a good color, but I would have done away with the Honda logo on the tank.
The Honda logos are under the clear coat and can’t be removed except on certain colors. Personally I like it with the logo anyway.
@@LifeOfBurch Logo looks cool. It's a Honda. Don't hide it.
Were is the matching fender?
That’s not an option from the factory. I may do it in the future or I may have something else up my sleeve 🤔
@@LifeOfBurch Any word on the New Honda Rebel 1100? Do you think there any truth behind it?

I don't really like the orange color. Just bought a new rebel 300 black out version (2023). It is absolutely beautiful. Got a trekker outback box and rear rack in matching black. It is just so damn sexy.
i want a 2020 but i don't like the colours, so thanks for this, gets me thinking...

Where did you get the tank and fender from? And do you know if I can get blue?
Austin W I got them both through TMSparts.com and they have every factory color that came on the Rebel. They actually have literally any factory Honda part you’d need. In order to find the right color tank you just have to make sure that when you enter what model your bike is, you select the year that had the color you’re looking for. So I believe you’d want to select 2017 for the blue tank.
@@LifeOfBurch thanks so much!
@@LifeOfBurch what year has the orange color you got, I can’t seem to find it?
I got my rebel for $5700 brand new in matte coyote tan about a month ago
the sensoryoverlord niiice! That color is one of my favorites as well! Did you get it for $5,700 including tax, tag, title, the whole 9 yards? Or in your state do you pay those separately?
@@LifeOfBurch that was the total cost, I got it for sale because it's a 2019, and they were getting in the 2020s
