Me too! So clear and concise but not dry and boring either. Not only are the recipes easy to understand for a novice cook like me, but also very entertaining to watch.
Love your logic in thinking about doing a log instead of a ball. Also, I am impressed with how you present in the kitchen, you clean as you go! I too was taught to clean as I cook.
It's so nice not to have a mess in the kitchen when you're finished. Especially if you've had a chance to enjoy a nice meal. Who wants to finish the meal and then have a mess to clean up? Thank you very much for watching our video. We really do appreciate it.
I was so happy to see I’m not the only person who has that nut chopper except mine is brown and white. A true treasure. I love your recipes. And your videos. You explain everything not leaving out any step. You and Melissa make a great team.
I wish I knew what happened to my grandma's and mom's nut chopper like that. I liked using it better than the electric one I have; I always end up with the nuts too fine.
My Mom always added a good shake of Worcestershire sauce in all her cheese mixtures....no matter how she would shape them....that added just that certain something in my opinion. This is a beautiful log though !
Great job with the cheese ball...i make my own version every Christmas...i use cream cheese, cheddar, miracle whip, worchestershire sauce, green onion, gerkin pickle, seasoned salt and pepper and cover with chopped walnuts...Ive been making for 35 years and they are a family favourite...I will give yours a try.😊 I just came across your videos and I love them...good old fashioned recipes and food everyone loves😊
Hi 👋 Tom and Melissa! That is a beautiful cheese log!❤Thank you sharing all your wonderful recipes! You two are so sweet to watch! 39 years being married! Congratulations 🎈🎊 that’s so rare anymore! God bless you both! I so enjoy your video’s! Thank you 😊
I am new to your channel and I absolutely LOVE your recipes and the presentation!!! My husband and I have been married for 53 years and I have gotten into such a rut....I seem to make the same things time and again. Some are fabulous and some are my own recipes but after I retired I now spend all my time cleaning, yard work, and cardmaking so haven't much cared about cooking. Thank you so much for all the inspiration....I am having a blast making your recipes! My husband thanks you too!
Love all your cooking shows! Tom and Melissa, have you ever disagreed on anything??? Never saw a couple agree on everything and never disagree on anything. You have a special marriage!! Love your show and you explaining everything slowly, making it easy to follow along.
I love Texas Pete on just about everything I actually carry a bottle in my purse LOL😃 They make a small bottle that's perfect for puttin in your pocket🥰
Y'all are so cute together! This looks very tasty. I also prefer logs for the same reason. I'll bet that would be good with pimento in it too. It definitely looked like Christmas. When you took the bowl of the mixer & tilted it to the camera, the pattern the cream cheese made in the bowl reminded me of snow covered evergreens 🌲. Of course, in my part of Texas, we don't have snow very often.
We love to add those little jars of the red pimentos to our Christmas cheese balls it’s a little softer than so many bell peppers and makes it spread easier. Aren’t the red and green such festive colors for the holidays and Fourth of July! ❤
I love a good cheese log or cheese ball! Have you ever had the one that has the beef from a jar? I have a great recipe that has that beef and chopped black olives. I’mp going to make your recipe bc I’m curious about the taste that craisins gives it. I bet I will like it. My favorite part of the holidays is tasting all of the party foods that everyone makes. I like the traditional recipes but I especially like to taste the new recipes. Thanks for sharing your recipe✝️🎄🎁
Looks good. My remedy for sticky rolling is I use pladtic disposable gloves. I rub a little vegetable shortening on the bottoms of my gloved hands. I also use parchment paper to roll it up.
I love making a cheese ball for Christmas, but now I will be making cheese LOG now! I will make your recipe, but there is one that I have been making for about 20 years that I really like!!❤😊
This is a great idea for a Christmas party! Just about every mayo except Dukes has sugar in it (unless it is labeled Sugar-Free and then you have to make sure they didn't add artificial sweeteners). I love that twang--I could eat Duke's with a spoon! My husband thinks I'm nuts.
Just had to tell y'all that I made this for our family Christmas get-together yesterday. It was a big hit & I was so glad! I will make this a lot more in the coming years. Thanks for this delicious recipe!
I loved how you let your wife had the first bite and last bite. That was so nice! I enjoy watching you and hearing your wife speak. That looks like a delicious cheese ball. Again thank you for sharing.
In my home only I like spicy food. My sister nor our Niece like spicy anything. This looks delicious though. I won't deny that. Thank you for posting this.
What a great appetizer! Gives you options. Makes sense to make the log. I see that I'm in good company for hot sauce lovers. Every month I buy one I haven't had before. This year, my roommate bought my a bunch of little bottles for Christmas. Thank you & God bless.
Hello! This recipe looks like a great addition to the Christmas dinner menu, I’ll have to try it this year. Love the story about the nut grinder, that made me smile. I viewed your video library and you have some really great content. Thank you for sharing your recipes, talent and knowledge. It’s August now, and coming up on quick breads season. I’d be interested to see how you make zucchini nut, banana nut, cranberry nut, etc. quick breads. Would that be something on you to do list?
Great recipe! It’s 107 degrees in N. Louisiana but looking forward to colder days coming up in a few months. Even in this hot weather, the cheese log looks delicious! I may make it for Labor Day get togethers !! Loving your recipes from a new subscriber!
We are thrilled to have you joining us. It's been a really hot few weeks here in Kentucky as well (but not as hot as you!). Try to stay cool and we look forward to seeing you back at the table.
Melissa and Tom I cannot believe how wonderful this cooking show is amazing!! I’m in love with this cooking channel and Melissa is amazing!! I cannot follow along so well with other cooking host. You line everything up Tom and explain in detail both with demonstrating and explaining! Melissa you are lucky lol I’m jealous of having a Chef in the home!! But you are Sweet and beautiful and very talented and I wish we could see more of you! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas 2023. 🎉
You are just the sweetest thing, and your comments are so very encouraging. Thank you for that so much! We are so happy to have you watching our channel and we hope you, too, have a wonderful Christmas season! By the way, we are going to have a Twelve Days of Christmas starting December 1 for some holiday treats ideas. We hope you enjoy that as well.
@@comesitatmytable9044 Yes Ma’am! I told my 2 adult daughters to WATCH YOUR CHANNEL. I told them it’s so very easy to understand that if we just follow along all the steps, not really any chance to mess up! And that’s important with todays high food prices! Thank you can’t wait to see you Dec. 1st! :).
That's our favorite part. (Confession, we did forget once when we were having the dish with some company later, but we meant to!). We are very happy to have you watching our channel. Have a very Merry Christmas!
I am so happy that I found your channel. Enjoy how your instructions are very detailed. Oh my I also have the very same nut grinder that you were showing! I actually purchased mine in the early 70s. I am 70 years old and just love anything having to do with cooking. Thank you so much for sharing. I also miss my mother and grandmother❤️ I will continue to watch your channel and look forward to more wonderful recipes. I will definitely be making this cheese log and your Brussels sprouts for this Christmas. God bless you and your wife 😍
Do the bell peppers start to release their juices too much if the log is in the fridge for a few days? I truly do believe you when you say to come sit at your table. I think you would welcome a total stranger at your door…angels unaware thing, ya know. You two rock!
We don't think the peppers get watery once it's in the refrigerator, but it doesn't last too long once we make it! Thank you so much for your kind comments. We really appreciate them and that you're watching.
This is a beautiful and savory cheese log! And the lig is MUCH easier for guests than a ball. One thing - at the beginning your mixer is across the room from your prep area. Move the mixing bowl over to the ingredients instead of taking ingredients across the kitchen. LOVE YA

I made this today for tomorrow's tray. I did add some of the very fine chopped cranberries and pecans directly into the cheese mixture, had extra, so why not. 😊
Looks great! I must make one. Hey,to make it more colorful for Christmas you can garnish the top with a few twigs of mint leaves and garnish the bottom corners of the plate with the green cherries and red cherries that would look great and the sweet taste of the cherries with a bit of the cheese log would taste good. I think you are from Kentucky? Maybe lol that’s where I’m from. You could add a little U.K. Blue to it! Lol. Thank you!.

Hi Tom/Chris and Melissa.. my family loves a good cheese ball/log for Christmas..I have to make one without the nuts for a special person that’s allergic.. So I only roll that one in craisins and a lil crushed pineapple…Hope all is well and don’t forget to “Put A Lid On It “….
I put craisins in my oatmeal and I put them in my oatmeal raisin cookies, I just divide the amount of raisins and use half raisens and half craisens. Or all craisens.
Tom, I just don't care for green pepper. The other colors are fine, it's just the green I don't care for. What would u think about maybe 1/8 C of chopped green olives? Yes, I know it will make it saltier, but not sure that would be horrible? What do u think, as I've not tried this recipe yet? Thx for your advise!
I’m in love with this channel! Thank you Tom and Melissa for making cooking easier and less intimidating!

Tom, I just don't care for green pepper. The other colors are fine, it's just the green I don't care for. What would u think about maybe 1/8 C of chopped green olives?
