I started listening to Ghost because of you. I can really see why they and Coheed are your favorite bands. They just seem to have this ability to pump out really interesting and unique riffs. As Hetfeild once said "The riff is everything to a song"
Wise words from Papa Het! I could (and should) do a whole video on this, but it’s not only do they write amazing and unique riffs, but they both have this ability to have every song and album have their own vibe while still keeping their recognizable core sound. It’s like listening to their albums are like a rollercoaster of music
Kaserion, in its entirety, is a good song to practice. Some of its riffs made it into my warm-up routine. Also, the ending of Rats was quite the curve ball when I tried to play it properly. PS: I'll make sure to listen to Fly tomorrow. Cheers!
I was very lucky to find your channel when I started playing the guitar about two months ago. Your videos are really helpful for a beginner like me. I managed to learn a few songs from them, and I continue to learn more. Though I think that because of your lessons I didn't quit after a week of unsuccessful attempts to play something. Thanks! Can't wait to start playing riffs from this video!
@@NickPerezMusic Fredrik Akesson played on the album apparently. The guitar work is exceptionally good and well orchestrated. I have enjoyed all the guitar work on every album but I think more than anything, the way the guitars are produced have come on leaps and bounds
Kaisarion is much easier to play I've realised, so wondering if theres a reason to play it as its shown here. All you need to do is use the D chord shape (index and middle on 6th frets and ring on 7th fret) then your pinky simply moves to b string 9th fret for second riff and e string 7th for 3rd riff. Really easy and cant believe no-ones spotted it. Am i missing something 🤔
I think it's moreso the feel is different when you play it that way. While the notes are the same and your method is a lot easier on the hand and will help prevent carpal tunnel down the road, it's a lot easier to let the notes ring into each other that way giving it almost a pop punk sound. But I guess if you can get all the notes to have the proper articulation that would definitely be a much easier way to play Kaisarion!

Dude totally! It’s like Tobias said “I’m gonna write a riff using all the notes but not in an order that’s easy to remember”
LOVE THE GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!

So happy to hear that, keep at it!
kaisarion is probably the hardest OVERALL Ghost song
Try playing it on a Les Paul custom with a baseball bat as a neck. That stretch is just nigh on impossible!
Tbh this video could’ve just been riffs from Impera, they really upped the guitar work on that album
You got this, imma show you an exercise later that’ll stretch those fingers in no time!

@@NickPerezMusic thanks. I've subscribed to your channel. Ghost are just an absolute revelation to me and I've only been listening 5 months.
This is heaps good 👍 any chance of doing some videos like this of coheed and cambria one day?
Ohhhhh yea! Literally spent last night outlining two of them
such a good video thank you
Alternate picking Spirit sounds like early 80s Scorpions or Priest. Ghost's version sounds more sinister.
That's a good point, gonna have to try that now! It'll def be easier on the right hand lol
@@NickPerezMusic You're down picking sounds right. Embrace the pain.
Majesty and Respite are the top 2 G h ost songs
Good choices! I’d swap Kaisarion for Respite tho, but you can’t go wrong with either
Do you have a video for developing really fast downpicking??
No but I can make one
When it had Dewdrop on the thumbnail I had to click
what guitar is that?
That’s a Grzenia empress
