Just correction the SADF did not use G 5 in 1975 . We only had 55 G3 and 25 pound field guns Used G3 or 55 guns until operation Protea 1981. Did both operation as a gun sergeant

We had Prototype No 3 of the G5 gun at the Military Museum in Johannesburg and this was dated 1979

I have been to Lohatla twice. Once with 4 SAI in 1987 and few years later with 1 Regiment De La Rey.

Was at 1SSB 88-89 and 61 Mech on the Border, miss those days
Hierdie in oefening het gepas gegaan met Hooper, packer, Moduler wat geindig het 1989, toes als oor en in sy moer.
I don't agree, Operation Thunder Chariot took place in 1984; while Operation Moduler started in the second half of 1987.

With Thunder Chariot G5 guns have been used. Theire were 2x Regiments and one could have been a G4 Regiment. Both 155 Mm guns
