Surely AIS is honest and you know where these Dark Ships are all the time?! There must be ‘Laws of the Sea’ that are being transgressed with legal systems in place to effect those laws, like seizure of vessels? We are FAR TOO SOFT on this type of activity. GET A GRIP against Illegal activity at sea.
Surely ship on ship intercepts are too slow? Shouldn't first physical contact be helicopter or Poseidon? I know that the navy isn't kèen on patrol vessels or corvettes, but isn't this exactly what the RN needs for protection of cables and pipelines? Cheap but numerous with a helo deck to support boarding and arrest?
Best option there might be to buy some former offshore supply ships & convert like RFA Proteus. At the end of the day the UK needs "proper Coastguard". RN b1 Rivers, Border Farce, RNLI, Scottish Fisheries protection. Too many small organisations. Should be merged with HMCG, resourced & financed properly.
Yes however the presence of permanent listening equipment is secret, as are temporary ones, submarines. It's a long standing intelligence practice not to act so that sources are deduced by the enemy.
Some of the same problems that Britain had with our anti-slavery patrols, we made over 60 treatys with various countrys to allow us to legally inspect the ships -- do any of these treaty's still have any relevance & legality ?
@@lonpfrb maybe worth a lawyers fee & some compo for a few cheeky inspections -- I was a seafarer in the 70's & remember when all USSR merchant vessels had forests of aerials..(also trained medical personell, a commissar, & more than one football team, with boots & strip).
Oh wow, where do I even start with this? 🤦♂️ First of all, bravo for the incredible leap off-topic-you stuck that landing like a clumsy gymnast. 🤸♀️ Secondly, let me clear this up for you, genius: it’s not their job. That’s the Home Office’s department-ring them up if you’re so desperate for answers. 📞👋 And thirdly-just so we’re absolutely crystal clear for the people squinting at the back-if you’re really that bothered, maybe focus your energy on the fact that legal migrants account for the majority of entries. (Spoiler: They don’t even need a boat 🚤 to get here). Facts are tricky, I know. What’s next? A Nigel Farage fan club membership application? 😂 Oh wait, let me guess-you’re already chairman of the “Farage Friends R Us” society. 🫠 Keep up the stellar work, mate.

Why isnt lack of insurance a justification for boarding?
Lack of maintenance certainly is as Finland 🇫🇮 has demonstrated.
The shadow fleet just turns off its AFS.
To become a danger to shipping so justify boarding and inspection.
Those that own these dark ships ought to be sanctioned severely.
with what? we have nothing USA wants?
By scrapping their junk

Shame if these dark ships sank in the dark... 😂
I have a question as an avid submarine enthusiast, surly modern sonar could detect an anchor being dragged on the sea floor?

⚠️ Hey BFBS 👊🏼
It's great to hear that we are working on countering this...
Thanks for updating us,
Gus 👍🏻
Great job, Kate, good podcast.
Putin is pondering cutting the cables and taking down a few satellites? 🤔
What with ..?
Putin very curious to see what would happen if he had those cables cut..
Hopefully Putin will pay a TRILLION DOLLARS or so…😊
No. It's a question of tort law
you know this is a visual medium, correct ?
You know this is a podcast, right?

Is employment in the unsafe shadow fleet modern slavery.. One for the Court after impounding the vessel and crew...

can the navy spare the ships? it has to keep up the ferry service for the invasion of Britain?
What are we contributing? Masking tape? 🤭
Sensors, Intelligence, Analysis, Machine Learning, Collaboration and Control
Isn’t it Chinese boats “accidentally” cutting cables by dragging their anchors?
There is no such thing known as "accidentally" when it comes to China. They plan everything out to 5 and 7 years. STUPID!!!
One of those Shops in the Baltic was under Chinese Flagge, but the captain was/is Russian.
Blah blah blah blah. Suspected ships board them impound sink if necessary stuff talking can we can not.
Royal Navy can’t stop the small boats though 🤷🏼♂️
@TheCainabis How many goddamn rubles did you earn?
Its the big boats u need to worry about Ivan.
@@bastogne315 maybe pocket submarines
