      Thank you Glenn. It's frustrating when you look, and can't find a repair video for your model, so we figured we would make one, and help folks out.
      I wouldn't even was to guess what the dealer would charge for this. Probably 3 times what the parts cost me.

    Thanks, Chuck. Another bit of info someone in need can find on YT. I've been told, and have told others - "Have a look on TH-cam, mate. Bound to be something there." Well done, folks.

    our Massey Ferguson GC2300 seems to be a clone of that tractor you have. Our steering system is identical except our mounting brackets for the cylinder to not have the added piece to keep the cylinder from spinning. Our brackets are prone to bend outwards and allowing the cylinder to move left and right. I had to weld an additional bracket to keep the brackets from spreading apart. A new cylinder is over $900 from the dealer. I bought the seals, on line, for a fraction of at cost and rebuilt the cylinder. It is working great. Very easy to replace the seals. It working great now.

      These brackets had bent out a small amount over the years. I did bend th÷m back in a small amount. Only about 1/8".
      I bought a rebuild kit for the steering cylinder, but once I found out about the issue with poorly machined cylinder tube, I figured I would just buy an updated new one. It wasn't nearly as expensive, and definitely fixed the issue. I may look into the old cylinder, and see if I can hone the cylinder properly, and rebuild it.

    Don’t know what it costs, I gather that’s Deb’s department. Gotta love it when a plan comes together, had faith in you as you make sure everything is cleaned up properly. Cheers my friends.

      @IronOakSawmill  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just didn't want a reminder of the cost. 😂🤣
      When I used to build race engines for dirt bikes and quads, you had to make sure you kept the dirt out, or they didn't last long.
      This isn't a race machine, but I need it to last a long time.
      Always feel good to fix it yourself.

      January, 2023: Steering cylinder was $300 at the dealer, including tax at 7.25%.

    I just picked one up. Seems to be a lot less videos on this model. I can't confirm the coolant level, looks like I have to remove the cowling to visualize the reservoir. It's also missing the nuts and cotter pins that hold the tie rod pin/bolt to the wheel. I can find a part number but no description, i.e., size and type, a castle nut perhaps?

  • @ronwhite36

    That fitting would be NPT X JIC

    • @IronOakSawmill
      @IronOakSawmill  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the one I couldn't remember, JIC. You are correct .
