Snickerdoodles are my favorite! My husband and I are adopting my nieces 4 kids. They are 3yo, 2yo twins, and a 11 month old. We have two adult children that are 24 and 22. So things are a bit overwhelming at our house. I have a wonderful friend that has taken the baby a few times so I could get some things done.
Bravo to you and your husband for taking those 4 babies in and giving them a loving home after having already raised your children. And thanks to your wonderful friend for offering some respite care for you . That's a true friend. Hang in there!!
@aprilhampton6298 Absolutely! Our son and DIL took in (and finally adopted) a family member's child, fostered many children, then adopted 3 more, and now have one bio baby on the way. Babies and children are blessings indeed. 🙌 Y'all will certainly be blessed beyond measure. I know we are with our 4 adopted grandbabies! And the others as well! It takes special people to do what y'all are doing. Hang in there!!
Jenalee, your videos are like a soothing balm for the soul. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this and you have brightened my day. PS. Your son’s piano playing is excellent!
Oh you brought back such lovely memories with that meal. It’s as if I was transported back to when my children were small. We did that chicken meal, and Texas sheet cake is a family standard! Well done with putting yourself out there and letting others share briefly in your life. So glad to have discovered you today. I grew up in a similar white farmhouse. Back to my first post retirement project: cleaning the attic, putting photos into albums, the children’s school things into portfolios, and donating some of the hundreds of books acquired along the way. You’ll keep me motivated with your videos!🎉
Jenalee, your videos are so calming, yet so rustic, beautiful and full of life! They truly remind me of what a pioneer home during the turn of the century times where families were very in tune with one another and hot meals were served together every day would feel like. In today's society, convenience and busyness cloud peoples lives so much and I feel like because of that people crave connection and time with their families. Your videos are an inspiration to all that even in our modern world, the old lifestyle can still thrive and it is possible to balance everything outside of the home as well with some determination. Love your channel! Love how everything is not perfect but you instead embrace it and turn it into a place where others and your family can thrive! Great video. :)
Homemaking comes back to us with our family loving us. It really looks like you're teaching your children good ways, that they can grow up to be Wonderful, useful and good adults. I admire you with all you do to keep the house humming. I remember those days well. Hugs to you. 🤗
Thank you for sharing your day and your feelings. I too love my home and need to do more entertaining. There’s no place I’d rather be so why not have people over? In addition to loving being at home, with it being just my husband and I there’s so many recipes I want to try but with the two of us, recipes make too much food. I could enjoy these recipes by cooking for friends. Since retirement, I’ve been going outside my comfort zone in relation to cooking and you’ve been part of that inspiration. I made my first loaf of bread last week and I felt so accomplished. Anything with yeast in the recipe I always avoided. It all seemed so difficult. Beginning with bread taught me not to fear messing up yeast. Thanks so much for your channel. You’re so calming and inspiring to watch and it’s also great that you share your struggles too. By sharing the less than perfect moments and emotions, it makes me and I’m sure others feel normal and empowered. God bless you and your beautiful family.
Jenalee... You never cease to amaze me with all your calmness and talent. Thank you for continuing to video the bagels and show that they still turned out perfect. I sometimes get frustrated with my dough and try to rush the process. You are an amazing lady.
You bring back many wonderful memories of my husband and I raising our 6 children here at the farm! Your sheet pan meal looks amazing and your delicious cake! You are doing a wonderful job. God bless you and your family 🙏💞
We have found that we like oatmeal much better if we don't stir it and keep cooking it. So what I do is boil water along with salt and raisins. As soon as the water is boiling, take the pan off of the burner. Put in oats and just push them down in the water. Put lid on and let it sit till it's soft. Doesn't take long. We add sweetener and fruit and milk after it's in our dish. We have found that people who say they don't like cooked oatmeal will like it this way. 😊
Made my day seeing that you had a video! You are doing a great job ❤️ Many times when I feel overwhelmed, I try to remember the "why" Hope that helps ❤️
You keep making these and i will keep eatching them, they are relaxing and interesting to look at and you learn from your channel.keep going i love these.🤶🙏❤️🌹😊🌼💐🌻
Loved your video!! You blow me away with your peace and calmness🥰. You all are sooo talented! Loved the piano concert ♥️ Thanks for sharing and motivating us to do more.💕🙏🏼💕
So what’s you’re saying is when your kids get older they probably will never eat oatmeal again because you kept serving it to them, knowing they don’t like it. This is the same with my husband and fish sticks. We’ve been married for 16 years and he absolutely refuses to eat fish sticks because his mom used to cook it all the time.
This is quite the generalization. Assuming that I only make oats for breakfast. I recommend watching my breakfast video th-cam.com/video/YvT7vxuHI8Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sxb3yJ1CUmxjG0uR. Your poor husband and the fish sticks! 😝 bless his heart!

You do not wash your rice? You must wash and rinse it until the water is clear before you cook it. 👀😲🤯
