I've used it basically daily for years and it's holding up great! You might have to replace the inside gaskets over time but they sell replacements online :)
Weird question but i'm a scumbag and i tend to drop or even throw my bottles by accident. Does this thing break or leak after you throw it on the concrete multiple times? My old chillys bottle broke after a few months..
LOL you made my day! lololol So while I haven't thrown it on the concrete multiple times, I can say it has held up well so far but i think it might be hard to find an insulated bottle that will stand up to your use case bc of how they usually vacuum insulate the chambers between the outside and inside. Maybe try just a standard bottle that might get dings but be able to withstand more punishment? Let us know if you find a worthy bottle!
I'm not 100% sure, I would guess some type of hard plastic, but it sorta reminds. me of the textured stuff they line pickup truck beds with? Like powder coat but not as abrasive, just a slight texture.

I was wondering if - after all the coffee your bottle has seen - it has left any funky taste/smell? Especially since I think milk in particular is prone to leaving some funky stuff if not cleaned off properly?
Great question and something I was worried about too! My bottle has built up that "coffee stain" on the inside surface but since I only put coffee into it (no cream, milk, sugar) I haven't noticed any off flavors yet. I do try and get in there with a bottle scrub brush whenever I remember to stay on top of the buildup though. :)
Or you could use a tablet for cleaning false teeth and leave that in for a couple of minutes and use a brush for extra cleaning. Works for me with this tumbler
Cleanability has been my number one dealbreaker for travel mugs since my first Starbucks/vaccum mug.. I was lucky to find a Kinto 500ml at a garage sale 3 years ago. There was some funky leftover residue/smell but it cleaned up very well with a little peroxide solution soaking for a day or so. I use it when camping to cook quinoa, rice.. with boiling water and appreciate the 360 lip for my all-day hot coffee at home... It's odd that when get a little bit greedy, I get the impression that the last few sips are somehow hotter... My previous favourite but discontinued mug did the same but was a hog to clean .. I don't recall ever dropping it like all of my previous mugs... I guess I could use a spare since 6 hour hot/cold is extremely conservative.

There's been criticisms that the lid cannot be disassembled for cleaning. I could see how this would be an issue if you're using the lid for coffee or juice where buildup could be a problem. It's smooth, rotating, open and close action is extraordinary. It's a feat of complicated engineering to be praised but, because of this, there is a drawback too. Here are my thoughts... Twist to open and twist to close. The twisting action has a firm, smooth resistance. When shut, the lid is tight and does not leak. The opening is variable to adjust the flow of liquids. Some reviewers have said that the lid could accidentally twist open and leak. Yes, with careless handling the lid could accidentally twist open but Purist is a premium water bottle, not be thrown about haphazardly. The shallow lip allows for easy 360º drinking. The plastic is strong, sturdy, and scentless with a satisfying, slightly textured hand feel. So why 4 out of 5 stars? As others have said, the Scope lid cannot be disassembled for cleaning. The space where liquid flows from bottle to lip is narrow and impossible to access. This could be a problem for those who want to use the Scope lid for different kinds of liquids, such as coffee or juice. Residue could build up in these gaps and become difficult to clean. Because of this, I intentionally purchased the Purist Mover with Scope lid strictly for water. I handwash the lid with soapy water and I have yet to have any issues. So far, the Purist Mover with Scope lid is the best water bottle I've ever used. It's a minimalist masterpiece.

If the outside is hard plastic, it would prevent the bottle from getting dinged up and getting scratched.
