Here's an easy trick to watch TH-cam videos with no ads, sidebar or comments. It's called Privacy Enhanced mode and it's pretty handy.

If you have a VPN, set it to Albania or Myanmar (Burma) as Google don't have deals with these countries to show ads, hence you see no ads.
Is there a vpn provider that can set to myanmar?

Or press the "back-arrow" and then the "forward-arrow" again (on the left top of the TH-cam window, left of the refresh button).
The video will start playing too without the ad.

It doesn’t work all of the time now. Sometimes it has to be done a couple to 3 times. But it also doesn’t stop internal ads.

As of yesterday I have had lead-in ads with Brave and u Block O. It surprised me. Maybe I need to reboot.
Brave doesn’t need an ad blocked. Been using brave without one and still works every time

Honestly though, who watches videos on their computers? I either watch from the app on my phone or from my smart tv. If you have any tricks for these things that would be great, but I don’t think they exist.
Those days are gone really. If use your phone, the app is the best experience for watching videos. Paying for premium is the only way to ensure you don’t have ads.

Indeed @marieta.s , I'm not watching YT on my 15" laptop when I have a large TV in the room.
I have just cancelled my subscription and can't believe just how much YT has ramped up the AD frequency and length!
If you have a smartphone you can use the VPN as described. Then you can cast the video from your phone to your TV if it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network. I watch a lot of TH-cam and I would n't watch the ad version. It's worth it to me to pay 12 bucks to get by all that crap. Course now the video presenters are advertising their wares too so that's so capitalism
What about age-restricted videos? Will TH-cam prompt me to verify age by logging in?
No sure - but likely no since there are no prescripts

It also makes vids sharable across different countries that otherwise would block it for the cookies .

I tried it & it worked, but the video came on full screen & esc didn't make it go back to regular size like it usually does.
yeah- You lose some functionality when using the noscript version. I made an extension that helps with that if you want to try it out.

I have no idea why/how, but I don't see ads when watching videos here. If someone knows how I did this, I would love to know! I don't remember ever doing anything to enable a "no ads" function.
With ad block, I never see ads on YT when on my pc or laptop. My phone is another story. Ad block does not work on my android phone so I will try this. Thank you.

Which brand of tv? With LG you can root the webOS and install a new App Store with an ad-free TH-cam.
You might be able to get an alternative YT app on a TV running Android.
I don’t think there is anything available yet for Samsung TVs.

I find it rather strange the difference a device makes. If I watch TH-cam on a kindle cube or on Roku tv, commercial city. Yet on a tablet it is almost rare??🤔

How to watch only commercials? Content is often more boring than advertisements. 😜. Channels that make sense to me and are not prone to self-promotion, I watch normally with commercials. I don't watch the rest and I have no problems with advertisements. Thanks for the video.

Very cool when it worked yesterday but it doesn't work anymore. **Edit** It stopped working in chrome. I tried it in Edge and it worked.

I have tried about a dozen tools over the years, they all work for a while, then they find a way to stop it, i find it just as easy to wait the 5 seconds and carry on.

Ads are baked in to the youtube app. You have to use either the revanced app or the kiwi browser with the adblock origin chrome extension (you can run chrome desktop extensions in kiwi).

A bit of a faff but good to know if Google actually ban/block adblocker extensions one day. Be cool if it worked on Chromecast which is the only medium I have left that doesn't block ads. Mainly because I can't be arsed setting up a custom router based firewall/vpn 😂

Waste of time. Many people are inserting in-video ads on their own. Can't stop them. Just fast-forward. I pay for TH-cam Premium, and STILL have to watch in-video ads or fast-forward.

I have another easier solution. Press the next button on the right hand side of the play button to go to the next video, then press the back button on your browser. This takes less than 1 second and removes all ads.

They will come up in the video as usual.

LOL - Never been described as that before. This is using Googles own service that they provide to the user -- just not well known. Best use for long vides that have the inserted ads. But, brother you are preaching to the choir on ad blocking. I've been fighting that battel for over a decade.

Yeah, I use AdGuard on Safari iPhone & Mac (cause you know Apple’s thingy things), and uBlock Origin everywhere else, and really just remembering that ads is a thing on TH-cam when someone tries to show me a video on their device.
And I insure you they survived all Google maneuvers.
