I always select Ajax for boss fights. So I can play Tank and revive people. I even Tank some of the boss attacks for fun. Plus it looks awesome when you are just standing point blank taking almost no damage.
Except when everyone else runs around as a soloer and ignores your defensive abilities you can't really contribute much. I'd love to main Ajax, but I'm considering more and more lately not taking him into intercept fights because a huge portion of the time people ignore my defensive things, meaning all I'm contributing is my base gun damage.
Not sure if you mean like a thing where you are held after matchmade or not, but you can talk to people in world chat. The issue with that is the chat box is tiny, and there is some really ridiculously small character limit.
It would help if they took a page from the Divs playback. The Division lets you see each others builds in the public area. You can see all their gear loadouts and what weapons they are using. That would help with both giving advice to each other for build improvement and rallying a certain group for a certain battle. That would eliminate or at least bandaid the match making concerns.
Putting Noise Surge on the Executioner was a blessing for me. Been trying to get that mod ever since Luna came out. Still wish theyd buff her signature weapon though, thing hits like wet tissue paper.
While I agree that Matchmaking would benefit from some sort of lobby system where players can adjust things before going into a fight, the biggest argument against that is to use World Chat and make a team before starting. Even arguing as far as joining your favorite content creators Discord and finding people there. Unless they go down the route of actually giving the Descendants rolls like Tank, DPS, Support, and then designating that a team has to have 1 Tank, 2 DPS, 1 Support, we're not going to be able to have much better than we have now. Best they can do is a pre-fight lobby but you can do that by forming the team ahead of time. And personally I'd rather them focus on things like fixing Jayber, character/weapon balance, more engaging activities for EXP, Gold, Kuiper, etc. I would like to see some sort of LFG system where you can activate a flag and then you show up on a list of people who all have their LFG flag on. Would make the process a lot smoother than having to shout in World Chat. I just feel that in the current state of that game where it feels like every content creator and their mother pushing Glass Cannon builds with 0 survivability so they can sub 10 second Devourer, is just going to make any Matchmaking system a disaster.
That's only work's if the people in the Raid know what they are doing seen plenty of content creators do raid get moaned at about their build then out dps everyone my worry about that is it goes the same way WOW went in the sense you get snob's saying no you can join our normal raid unless you can link the mythic raid shite i mean why would you need to do normal if you have done mythic so stupid
The reality is these videos you see where people are deleting bosses in a couple of minutes is probably only the top 1-3% of the entire player base. Plus, there's no need for them to repeatedly fight the intercept bosses like that since they already have all the things. And since they can, why would they ever do public groups?
@@porkie8876 Been stuck on executioner for a week now. Just got thunder cage maxed out and trying to build a character up. Can solo all the other bosses and come pretty close but run out of timer.

Biggest issue I find in pub matchmaking in void battles is people going in under lvl30. Sure they might have dropped several cats on their build but anything under lvl 30 reduces all stats , HP, mana etc etc that you’re just handicapping the rest of the players in the team. Perhaps they should restrict the harder void battles with only lvl40 characters to stop this time waisting.
Yea I would like to have match making like destiny where if I’m going into just a regular night fall the other two player show up and I can see what they rocking n switch. Or even if throw game gets am LFG where u can request a player type ie. bring skill character or firearm build. I know LFG is Ight some times but it may ex out those single descendant players that just got one character
I gave Obstructor a try again yesterday and was grouped with 2 people that were mastery level 10 and 11 and another person that was afk. I was the only one that could even scratch the boss (I stopped firing to check). There was no way in hell they were going to get the mechanics right. And HOW do you even get to Obstructor with only 10 mastery levels unless you just speedran and got carried through everything. It is infuriating.
yea i stopped running intercepts after (barely) beating hanged man. some of the team comps are just abysmal. we need a LFG lobby, character inspect, role selection, etc. any of that or aspects of that. public matchmaking just feels half assed. i love the game but i always run solo missions
The sad part is I haven’t even gone into the gluttony battle I see people get wrecked on twitch n TH-cam live. Like damn. I see and get the mechanics but I’m not running that ish 22 times then it’s gonna make me put the game down for a bit. I’m just on my farm wave at this point but I think I will give it a shot or two since it’s been out for a bit now. But the colossus is stacking bodies lol

No offense, but I think you are VASTLY overestimating the influence of TH-camrs on the total population. I'd expect there is even less engagement here by the majority of the player base than something like Destiny 2, and the estimated figure is something like 85% of the total D2 player base NEVER watches any TH-cam build or strategy videos. Also, don't forget, probably a sizeable portion of the casual player base who don't follow meta/videos don't even play hard mode, or don't do the hard mode intercept bosses. You are already talking about a much smaller portion of the player base past those first few hard mode intercept bosses. But yes, since the chat system is so terrible there really needs to be some kind of role based que. At least an optional one. Though with the flexibility of some descendants it might be difficult to set them as a single fixed role. But I also question if that's really necessary. Since the top 1-3% of players can solo hard mode any boss in a minute or less, is there really a need for a balanced group? I think the power difference between someone just getting to hard mode, and someone who is in that top 1-3% is so vast it would kind of be impossible to balance towards that. Outside of someone designated for torch carrying, or hanged man thing carrying, there really isn't a need for a specific set thing. You can just brute force your way through all the others. Would I love to see that power difference brought WAY down and there a higher 'need' to have a balanced group in terms of tank/heal/DPS, sure. Is First Descendant ever going to be that kind of game? I really don't think so. The devs have said they wanted there to be the chance people got so powerful they could solo everything, and in a game where everything can be soloed by the top percent of players, can it ever really be balanced towards a group? Not really.
You know what would really help stop players being able to do them unless they are between level's 35-40 fed up with getting a group between 6-16 hence why i just solo them now also yeah i know they stopped it due to a Gley build but it sucks they don't let you change your build preset atleast in the window before the fight been a few time's when i am soloing a boss i had to quit and reque because i had my farming build on yeah stop the booty shaming some love some don't but i bet you a lot of people like the game have given 🖕to the woke crap
The levels don't mean much, especially since depending on the mod they can be vastly different. Like a Bun on base hp is something around 3k HP, Lepic, even with full HP mod is at 7.5k (somewhere around 5k on no mod). I'm just now getting into Ult Ajax, working him back up on his first cat, and with the mods I've got I'm sitting at nearly 50k Defense and 12k HP at around level 30. Also player skill and knowledge counts a lot. Like if someone knows how to avoid things, and has resistances, they will survive a LOT more than someone who doesn't. Level won't account for that. And no, saying base it on account level instead then isn't a solution either. Just because someone plays a lot doesn't mean they have more or less knowledge than someone else. I'm a vet MMO player. If I started a brand new MMO tomorrow I'd be coming in with 25+ years of MMO knowledge. I could do WAY more on any given class/build than someone with less knowledge. Our in game level can't represent that.
I hate how sexualized the game is but more so because you can’t even type “lmao” in the chat for some reason. If you’re ok with putting camel toe into the game, then curse words shouldn’t be an issue
Yeah. Seems weird to sexualize the characters, and then police the chat for relatively mundane phrases. I imagine it may end up changed/fixed because it makes communication difficult.
