Nice! I was wondering about tire options for the 230sm. How’s the suspension? Seems to handle the road really well - can it can handle small jumps and drops? Seems like it should be to hop up and down taller curbs without issue
I've done the hop up and down on curbs with the oem size and it took it well. i haven't tried it with the new tires yet. Since the bike can handle 140/70 it really opens up tire options.
First thing I did when I got my 230 SM is GPS the speedo and found out that its 5mph faster than what the actual speed is, so 70 MPH was roughly 65-66 MPH actual.... The speedo not very accurate, but close enough.....
@pitbikemike Thanx for the fast response, im very tempted to try the 150/70/17. From what I measured there's about 6" clearance between chain & swing arm. But I got a KLX 300Sm I believe the swing arm is the same as your bike?
@pitbikemike Sorry if I missed it in the video, but did you have to run tubes in the Bridgestones? I wasn't sure the rims would seal without tubes. Thanks.
Have you dont any sprocket work? i just got a one thooth more front sprocket and plan on doing a video whenever i do it. i just hit 1015 miles on mine last night.
This was a great video! Thanks for getting the 140. Can’t wait to see what it looks like with the new front.
Hopefully some time this week it'll be in. Also had to order service manual for KLX so I could have to torque numbers for the front axle
Looks good

I probably should do that but than I would know that I’m not going a blistering 74 mph hahahah
Dope video!
Will a 150/70/17 tire fit the rear?
Honestly I don’t think so, the 140 is as close to chain as I would be comfortable with… any more and im sure it would touch

That I don’t know. I know the 300sm comes with a 130 rear which my 230sm came with a 120 rear so maybe yours will have a bit more clearance
@pitbikemike Successful or not I will post results on here incase some one is interested in knowing.
Thanx Bro!

Yes I did have to run tubes in the tires

I have not done any spocket changes to the bike. but switching up to this bigger tire size does make the bike behave like I did.
I havent dont it yet but im curious if it has a limiter that doesnt let it go over 74
Honestly it feels more like it is redlining at 74/75
Where did you get the sprocket? I want to go down one tooth. Do all klx230 sprockets for or do they have to be specific to the sm?
@JacobJeffcott-mh2bl i believe the rear is different but i could be mistaken
What is the tire I want to upgrade mine
