    Hi, do you have to wait for the super tack to dry before printing? Thanks!

    Good video, and to mention the off contact screw for those larger frames. You do a great job!

    anser please why not stay screen down ? not use hand presser

    I ordered this from your link and noticed the arm will not stay down by itself. Even with the springs completely loosened and the clamp at the highest position, it will spring back up by itself. This is a complete deal breaker with this design.

      omg same for me, its so frustrating

    • @lets_print_3d

      @@ayan-yu7rx I still would not recommend this machine to anyone, there are much better options at the same price. With that said, I managed to sort of fix this issue by replacing the turnbuckles with longer ones. I bought M6 (it comes with M5) Marine Turnbuckles from Amazon that have a max length of 8.5". This gave me enough slack that the screen will stay down by itself now, but it sits pretty low when you lift it up, so it's not a perfect solution.

    Hi! When you print, does the table stays stable? Or do the table comes forward because the weight of the station...

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are press down really hard while pulling the ink, it can move some. You can mount the press more centered on the cart to help prevent this, but it will make it harder to adjust or swap out the platen. I change out my platens often, so its worth it for me to keep the press at the edge of the cart.

    Great review! Did you have to secure the press to the table with screws, or is it stable enough to stand and be functional on its own?

    • @Fiberfreak
      @Fiberfreak 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have this, it is wobbly without securing it to the table but I did press some shirts without it screwed down, it was awkward but ok.

    2 questions: 1) after screen printing, the ink bleeds through to the pallet. Should I have some kind of protective covering on the pallet? Thinking it might get ruined? 2) the pallet is pretty big and smaller shirts stretch on the pallet. Are there smaller pallets I can get for this?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can put down pallet tape to make cleaning up easier, but ink bleeding through will not mess up the printing process. Just make sure that the ink is dry before loading the next shirt (you can go over it with a heat gun to speed up the process). www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/pallet-tape
      Check out this blog post to see how I make a smaller pallet for toddler shirts:

    Are there alternatives to screen printing? I am making a community project and had to use some metallic ink on it. I couldn't use brush cause of the fine details. I couldn't find a way to get to print the metallic. Hot foiling is way too shiny.

    You have it mounted to a cart but I only have a large desk for creating. Would you recommend using the same brand but with the legs? Or find a way to mount it to my desk? Not sure which is best. Thanks

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have space, this kitchen cart (from IKEA) that I use is so handy. It fits the 10x14 screens on the shelf below. It's on wheels so moving it around is easy. If you want to use your desk, I'd look for heavy duty clamps so you don't damage your desk.

    Great video I have a question I have 20x24 aluminum screens would they fit on this press??

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They should. I don't have any aluminum screens, but the clamp part extends to 2" so as long as the frame isn't thicker than that, it should work!

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After applying the tack and using it for multiple projects, mine has all sorts of stains and ink marks from all the projects too. When it's time to apply new tack, I will scrape off the old layer and use Mr. Clean Clean Freak. That gets me back to a clean pallet.

    Thanks! I imagine you need a heatpress for plastisol? Is it possible to switch screens to do 2-3 color prints on the same shirt?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use only water-based inks which air dry.. then you heat press to seal the ink. You can definitely switch screens to do multi-color shirts on this 1 color press. Here's one tutorial showing the process: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/2019/06/how-to-screen-print-multi-color-designs-on-a-1-color-1-station-screen-printing-press/
